I'd love to see another video. I used to go to a 12-step women's meeting but I just don't like to be around people anymore, lol. -Kelli.

@@KSK1244 Isolation can be a problem for us! "together we get better." Face to face meetings are important to attend, if at all possible. We learn how others found success, get support, and also our Higher Power speaks to us through others in meetings! I've been traveling a lot lately and plan to make a video on planning and preparing food for successful abstinence while traveling! Now that I'm home I need to batch cook and get my kitchen restocked first! :) Take good care, be kind with yourself Kelli!

Patti Brown I attend OA meetings Patti! I’m fortunate to have several meetings in my area! OA also has great online and phone meetings! Check out the Vision For You podcasts lots of recovery on that phone meeting! I love face to face meetings best. My Higher Power speaks to me through my fellows! Do the next right thing to further your recovery today! Blessings to you!❤️ Nancy, Gratefully recovering food addict

I have attended FA but the three calls a day is hard to accomplish and I’m tempted to lie about it.

@@pattibrown5974 It's one day at a time. As she said, even one minute of meditation is a big help if that's where an addict is at for today. There are many who find once a day is more suitable than more than meditating more than once per day.

I wanted to suggest you do a video about how your recovery affected your husband and if he was helpful or not but it sounds like you’re divorced, and maybe that precedes your recovery. Might be a touchy subject for you. Been there, done that. Current husband here is not helpful.

I'm sorry you're not feeling supported at home Shelley. We're in recovery to save ourselves and must power on under every circumstance. The Serenity Prayer comes to mind. Sometimes the spouse sees a change and is worried about what that will mean in the future. When we start to love and care for ourselves, we no longer put up with mistreatment. In my disease didn't think I was worth it and didn't deserve any better treatment. (just talking for myself) This last time I was able to pull together long-term abstinence our teen daughter and my husband at the time had been witnesses to my struggle. At first, they figured that this latest 'diet' would fizzle out in failure like all my other attempts and didn't take it seriously, who could blame them? The difference this time was I put down my 'alcoholic' foods (sugar etc.) so I was able to stick with the food plan without cravings and temptation. We can't expect anyone else to support us by following our food plan, etc. My family did show their support by going out for pizza & ice cream for example, so I didn't have to watch them enjoying those foods. Also, we had a cupboard in the kitchen and a draw in the fridge dedicated to 'their' foods, foods I didn't want to eat and so didn't need to open that cupboard and I wasn't having to make the decision not to eat something every time I saw it. That took cooperation and consideration on their part. After a while, my family was willing to help in any way they could because I was a changed person, a loving wife and mother not an unhappy b!#@h, obsessed with food to distraction. I was getting better, one day at a time, I wish the same for you Shelley. Bless you, on your journey!

Thanks so much for your thoughtful reply. My husband thinks there’s no problem, but I know better. Sometimes I have it more tamped down than other times, but I check all the boxes. Trying again.
