This is Berk. It's twelve days North of hopeless, and a few degrees South of freezing to death. It's located solidly on the Meridian of Misery. My village. In a word, sturdy. It's been here for seven generations, but every single building is new. We have fishing, hunting, and a charming view of the sunsets. The only problems are the pests. You see most places have mice, or mosquitoes, we have... *Dragons*
Most people would leave. Not us. We're Vikings. We have, stubbornness issues. My name's Hiccup. Great name, I know. But, it's not the worst. Parents believe a hideous name will frighten off gnomes and trolls.
This is Berk. It rains nine months of the year and snows the other three. Any food that grows here is tough and tasteless. The people that grow here are even more so. The only upsides are the pets, while most places have ponies or parots, we have.... dragons Hopefully I got that right ^^
John Powell's score for HTTYD is one of the best cinematic tracks in recent memory. I love this opening, too, since it introduces every single musical theme in the movie except Toothless', since he's part of the unknown. Sideways made a video on the subject, it's amazing. You captured it really well.
HTTYD has both the best films and series I’ve ever seen, and i saw *a lot* in lockdown! (I knew HTTYD before corona was a thing, i basically saw the first film when it came to the cinema (wow that was 2010 (wow im old))
I mean the third was definitely the series' weak point. It's clear when watching it that it was originally intended to be the finale of the series with no hope of it ever being resurrected, but at the last second one of the higher-ups decided to leave the possibility for a future nostalgia bait film to be made. It really disappointed me because the first 2 are my favourite non-Edgar Wright films, and the ultimate comfort films.
How To Train Your Dragon Trilogy has one of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time. It is in the same level with Star Wars and Lord of The Rings. John Powell really did hit it outta the park with this masterpiece
As an ex how to train your dragon fan that literally knows everything in the franchise and has watched all the installments over and over again, I can say this is one of the most heart warming and epic themes in movie history. This is a certified Hiccup classic, hell yeah!
@@kalamari3288 I'm also an ex-fan, it's because httyd movies/series are no longer being made, I also used to play the mobile game Rise of Berk but it became super p2w so I stopped playing that. So ya I'm and ex-fan
@@ZikedY Ya I read all of the books too, but honestly I feel like being a how to train your dragon movie fan or a book fan is 2 different things due to the huge difference in the plot. I am a fan of the books though.
I love the How to Train Your Dragon soundtrack!!! John Powell is one of my all time favourite composers! You did fantastic on this song and I'm wondering if it would be possible to do, "See You Tomorrow" as well? It's also from movie 1!
This reminds me of when I was younger, I would be on a car trip with my family and we'd watch How To Train Your Dragon in the car on the DVD player. Ahh memories.
This is one of the greatest film score openings of all time (and one of the greatest scores of all time, in my humble opinion) . Sideways did a great analysis on this piece and all of the different motifs that are used. This arrangement really captures the spirit of the original. Great job! This is another one I'll have to learn.
My heart sank in excitement when I saw this, because I'm a huge fan of the HTTYD soundtrack and even own the scorebook (From Omnimusicpiblishing). I hope I see more tutorials for httyd in the future.
When I was a kid I was fascinated by these movies and especially mesmerized by the soundtrack, which is superb, I must say. Lets hope we see more HTTYD from Sheet Music Boss in the future.
Day 10: asking if you would cover at least one of these soundtracks. 1. "Yes, I do" full version from The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. 2. "Secunda" from Skyrim. 3. "Main Theme" from Assassin's Creed: IV Black Flag. 4. "The British Empire" from Assassin's Creed: IV Black Flag. 5. "City of Rome" from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
This was such a nice surprise and a beautiful arrangement! John Powell did an amazing job with the scores for the trilogy, and his music honestly played a major hand in the storytelling-- especially in the first movie. I love that you guys are fans and are still making content about the movies, because it's a franchise that I hold near and dear, and I know a lot of other people do too. The book series is amazing too!
Finally!! I’ve learnt how to play ‘test drive’ and I was looking forward to the day this would come. This is so awesome. Can’t wait to learn this haha.
John Powell's musical score has been a blessing to the franchise from beginning to end. Some people might be divided on which film is animated better, who got the better character development, which film had the most action. But my brothers in flight, the one thing that unites is this score. It is classic, it is timeless, it is Berk.
