It's impressive to see someone take the time to actually play SLTS how Kurt did, using upstrokes on the first and third chord of the chorus. Little things like that elevate covers from good to great, and man, was this great. Kudos to you for really going the extra mile.
Breed is just one of those songs that always gets your blood pumping and is so fun to play haha Especially the chorus lol its so simple but so amazing and just makes your head nod instantly Same with drain you and lounge act haha Eh same with any nirvana song really lol
Thats the genius of Cobain's songwriting! I bet the other big bands of the time were very jealous of his innate ability to put together simple and energetic tracks
Orochi you play it the same way as you would any guitar. The H is for humbucker in the bridge on both guitars so either way it’s a humbucker. Which you don’t even need really. Watch videos of Kurt playing live and I’m sure you will see him use a single or a humbucker at any given time. My single is technically a humbucker to some ppl but that doesn’t really matter. Play it with how you want to play it unless you’re tying to match the sound
Alot of people don't know that KURDT KOBAIN actually came out of rehab on a day pass to record the video for 'COME AS YOU ARE'. However he insisted that all the shots of him, especially up close, had to be distorted, due to the fact that he was EXTREMELY DOPE SICK!!! So, largely due to the Chorus Pedals contribution to the songs "watery sound", KURDT insisted on a waterfall effect to obscure his face, thus giving the entire song, & video, that dark, ominous, brooding, and foreboding 'FEEL!' Which, as with practically every facet of KURDT'S artistic endeavors, the fruits of his labor would've been very well received, no matter what form his 'CONTRIBUTION' may have taken!!! And as far as profit, alot of people don't know that KURDT KOBAIN, at the behest of COURTNEY LOVE, actually petitioned for the Lions share of the groups money, leaving Krist & Dave to split the remaining 50%. Which is reasonable considering that KURDT wrote the lyrics, the music, including the Bass, & Drum portions, then relayed how he wanted it to be played to 'The Rhythm Section' before recording. He should have given Dave a chance ALOT sooner than he did, to play a far more productive role within NIRVANA. They could have been a 'SUPERGROUP', however KURDT'S PERFECTIONISM is what was likely the cause of his drive to personally take the helm in regards to their music.
Billy Corgan has also talked about how he was contractually entitled to more money than his bandmates because he earned songwriting royalties on top of his share of record sales and tour revenue.
Just got this guitar about a week ago.. It plays better than the Kurt Cobain Mustangs from Japan.. And it's Mexican. I prefer it over most american Fenders as well.
Yeah, I had the KC Mustang at one point. Ended up selling it.. But this i'll never get rid of. Don't get me wrong though.. The mustang was great.. Just i'm a bigger guy so the Jag is perfect.
Jesse Glenn maybe I’ll get this than haha I was thinking the mustang even though I have a duo sonic but I’m 6’2 and 270lbs and that duo sonic feels like a back scratcher in my hand compared to my strat lol
Yeah, I love the mustang.. Only downside for me was the size of it. It was almost like a "Guitar Hero" controller to me and I'm only 6'1. If you wait around a bit, you can find the Jaguar a bit cheaper. I found mine for 700 w/ the hardshell case. But if you're still thinking the mustang, there's a KC LPB Mustang on Reverb for around $800.
This video took me back to when I was a teen and bought the cassette to play it ALL DAY start to finish... Great job on Edless Nameless, back then you could only hear that song if you had the CD and let the last song play out for quite a while after it ended as it was not on the play list but was on the same track as Something in the way. Great video!
Now witness the firepower of this fully ARMED and OPERATIONAL POWERCHORD! Kurt was the reason I started playing as a kid, give it a listen. Awesome job, I like how you show the pedals...I accidentally fried the board on my Poly Chorus...that "overload" light wasn't just for looks...
I'm very vocal on most people butchering lithium, but this was very very good. Most people mute the strings in the first part but they mute it half assedly and the song is then ruined And lounge act was absolutely perfect
It's really funny to see a classical guitar used to play Nirvana. But great job, dude. Nirvana has been my favorite band since I was 12 and I think you nailed it!
Something ive always found interesting is that while people like Nevermind's riffs a bit more usually, Bleach was a bit more complex guitarwise. Like he plays certain songs a particular way on Bleach that a lot of people might not catch the little parts to and it throws off the song. Watch someone play the riffs off of it like this without any backing and youll see what I mean
Yeah a lot of those tracks have little intricacies, sometimes I find them on Nevermind and In Utero tracks to this day and find I've been playing them "wrong" this whole time haha
The ProCo RAT Distortion was fire. You replicated the Tone for Territorial Pissings. The only pedals I have is a Boss OS-2 Overdrive to replicate the DS-1 and Turbo DS-2, A Big Muff Pi pedal and a Boss CH-1 Super Chorus to replicate The Small Clone.
Read your description and I thought you came pretty close if nothing else. Seeing shit like this makes me realize there’s just too much into recreating the magic that was Nevermind hence the term, “lightning in a bottle”, but I think you did a pretty good job. Me personally, I just purchased the NOS Jaguar myself. Already have the Jagstang I bought in 97!
I don’t think he used sans amp until in Utero but I love the sound. Also the other distortion pedals like the Rat and Big Muff were used on the songs he used them on exactly. Great job man, keep it up!
Coby Cooper no, he didn’t use a sansamp. He was using a DS1 and a combination of amps including I believe a modified Fender bassman, as well as his Mesa, and an AC30. I found it too hard to get an exact sound for each track since I don’t have the gear so somewhat simulated a Mesa Mark style distortion using the sansamp
Don't think KC used a sans amp till In Utero, using a Boss OD1 instead, but none the less you're getting the amazingly close tone. When I had a go at chasing the nevermind tones I found that the small clone on minimum settings did an ok job at getting close to that layered guitar sounds, or even better (when I had one) a rotary speaker cabinet. But like I say this is for approximating the sound of the layered guitar tracks on nevermind (with one guitar) not cos KC ever used these things this way.
No he didn’t, I’m not even using the same sansamp model as that. I just found with my setup I could approximate the tonality of the DS1 more closely on my setup with a sansamp gt2 than I could with the DS2

Okay but how do I play breed on an Hss strat tho is the tone almost exclusively for hh guitars?
Orochi you play it the same way as you would any guitar.
The H is for humbucker in the bridge on both guitars so either way it’s a humbucker.
Which you don’t even need really.

Play it in bridge position. Both pickups just got me the best sound in my setup with my method of recording haha
You’re clean tone for In bloom is awesome
Jesus this is really close to Kurt's tone. Great effort!
Thanks so much Gary!

Thanks mate!
Time for a live at the paramount play through but with the Vandalism strat haha
I might actually do that haha!
alexrcowan Awesome! Would be great
I always found it odd how few times Stay Away was ever performed live.
One of their best songs too
Same with lounge act
Mushroom_Of_Mushyness apparently courtney didn’t want him playing it because its about his ex smh
@@stonedinparadise1381 I think that's an untrue rumour because otherwise why did they still play about a girl and aneurysm?
