Sierra Railway #3 runs special to Sonora first time in 20 years!

Sierra Railway #3 runs light up to the former Sonora depot location. There she coupled onto the Holiday train, and was on display for 3 hours. This was a special event, held as a thank you to the community for rallying to help save Railtown 1897 when it was threatened with closure earlier this year. This was the first trip to Sonora the #3 has made since 1992, when it ran special with the #28.

She deserves to be able to run that line period! Start a commuter service. Railtown would get more funds for restoration and upkeep.

That whistle is the one used for the train in The Polar Express movie did u know?! But all the other sound effects like the hissing and chugging are from the steam Pere Marquette 1225 locomotive! The locomotive design used for the Polar Express

What company made the whistle for #3? Please someone tell me. Because I've heard three whistle that sound like it made by three different companies: Nathan standard, Lima and great northern all of them five chimes.

Actually, it's a Lima 5-chime off a Shay, according to the Rizzoli Locomotive Works; they just restored it recently.
