Hello! I'm just now getting to sit and hand quilt! I just love your joyful positive energy! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thanks for sharing!
Quite a lovely set of templates! You’ve made this quilt as you go technique very easy! Your hint about how to sew the top point is really great! Beautiful fabrics and beautiful teacher!
Thank you so much for showing me how to not only do quilt as you go but also how to do a ladder stitch. I actually think that I could make this quilt as you go because you also showed me how to put them together. Thanks again
what a lovely cushion I've never tried quilt and you go I've ordered some of your big templates today so will definitely have a go now, inspiring video thanks Nicola.
Great video. I was looking for templates on website and realized I already bought them. Can’t wait to start on this pillow. Thank you for a great tutorial and tips.
@@heidicook2395 very well and thanks for asking. I love the outdoors including traveling and reading books, cooking, gardening and watching movies I'm from Ohio. How do you spend your spare time?
This is a very interesting technique - I thunk I would have used a fabric for the binding that wasn’t so dark - just my choice! And I probably would have sewn the binding by hand ✋ - as I like doing hand work. Thus would make a very interesting quilt,or maybe a wall hanging. That big rose is beautiful!!!! Thanks so much for another great video!!!
Very interesting. Question - could you leave the batting out and make a summer weight coverlet using your system? Enjoyed your video. I think you are a good teacher. Thank you
I was contemplating the same idea and there is the aqua quilt behind Nicola that she mentions. So it would be machine applique with the print pieces on the background pieces and standard quilt piecing but a lot of odd angles when stitching rows, columns or quadrants together. The only thing I was considering was putting the wadding/batting on the inside of the whole quilt as normal.
Thank you Joyce, I had such an amazing time in Hamilton it really is the most beautiful place and it is the Disney land of quilting, I would love to go back. Love Nicola X
Ditto Pat Martin’s comment! Also love the occasional guest contributors, like this time! This technique reminds me of EPP, but since it’s all machine-sewn, I definitely want to try it!
I love this pattern however from us uk viewers it will be expensive to buy the templates & postage then import duty. Can you please make them available in the uk.
Hi, use the arrow or in the video description box. Fi d and click on the first of the two links. That takes you to the MSQC blog post. Under the photo was an Orange button, Download the PDF. Click that. It has cutting layout and sewing instructions to follow. You will still need the template set or have to make your own templates. It might be worth it if making and selling quite a few of these. Somewhere I've seen a video on how to draw your own hexagon shape. The rest is just angles and maths.
The originals would have to be shipped from Australia. These days with supply chain issues, I am happy not to pay international shipping (apologies to our intl folks who always pay more). And BOGO deal this month is a good incentive too.
So the template set is an Australian thing? I'd hate to pay twice for it to get to the USA and be sent back to me in Australia? Any thoughts? Plus no offence but if I was determined I could design my own here. I already make my own patterns for nearly everything. Plus I can think of an alternative method that is close to this style and would give an approximate effect of almost the same results. It helps if you are good at maths and angles.
I LOVE listening to Nicola! You should have her on more often and she should have her own YT channel.

Hi Rhonda, that is a lovely idea and it would work, if stitching by hand though it might be a good idea to sew through both layers. Love Nicola X
Super cute!! 💠🔻💠🔻💠🔻
Fabulous xx
Super god forklaring, det er en rigtig god ide. Love it

I would love to see how that would work for a quilt
Linda, there is a quilt hanging up behind me during the tutorial, I believe MSQC will have the pattern available soon. X

She forgot to show us the diamond template and cutting, though it is still the same methods. :) I am more intrigued by the quilt than the pillow. :))
Nicola is so adorable! Can't we keep her?

If someone was doing a king size quilt and was using the precuts of batting how many would you order?
Wadding❤❤❤❤
Will this pillow be the same size as in the MSQC Block magazine?
Thanks

What size is the jewel can only find 2 1/2
I would call this English paper piecing on the go, not quilt as you go as you didn’t do any quilting. Love it xxx
When she sewed the binding down, she was also quilting each piece.
Seriously, MSQ? The template set is ONLY $0.05 cents off the regular price???
All templates & patterns are buy one get one 50% off.
@@shelleyramsey9410 ok, it's currently $69.95 for the template set she used in the video, but regular price is $70. Got it! Thanks 😊.
