Congrats on the 1K! I can't believe there was a question about us! I deeply appreciate the advice and encouragement you continue giving me to today. Super excited we'll be collaborating on a ride soon.

It's a question that I've received every now and then, so I figured it would be good to answer. My typical response was that "a rising tide lifts all boats" when it comes to expanding cycling education and advocacy. I'm looking forward to our group ride this Saturday!

Thanks for the video and answering my initial question. The video was so insightful and way more than I expected. Cheers!

Thank you for the question! Since I used to live in Tukwila before moving into Beacon Hill, I wanted to add other parts of West Seattle like those farther south that people may be biking from or want to bike from. It kinda expanded from there, but I hope some of the ideas can come to fruition.

@@bobco85in one of your videos you did a bit about bicycles being able to roll through stop signs at trail intersections if there is no traffic. Can you do a RUclips Short of that with the RCW reference? I would share it with everyone I see on trails! Would definitely “promote” your channel….

@@bryanlane31 I like the idea! That may be something I can work on during the winter (things are so busy for me right now) to have individualized Shorts for specific bike laws/tips/etc.

Hey ! Thank you for such amazing videos! I'm a beginner and just bought my first bike recently. I was trying to discover something on RUclips, so I can educate myself more on the bikes routes and infrastructure. And I found some of your videos, that helped me a lot. Thank you so much and I'm hoping to see more nice rides and useful historical information. And Mb one day I'll be skilled enough to join some of your group rides!

Love to see the success of your channel.
Would like to see more of the Waterfront and also the tricks and safety guidelines for navigating busy shared use trails such as Alki, etc. Many pedestrians and cyclists seem to be unaware of the safety risks of shared-use paths and even the use of bike bell confuses some. Some pedestrians think of it as being "honked" at. Others wear earbuds and can't hear the cyclist. Many cyclists use their voice to call out not realizing that is often lost to the wind or it confuses some pedestrians that whirl around in front of the cyclist with a "what?".
As far as your Q&A video, I lived and rode my bike in Seattle for many decades. I think your recommended wet weather attire will work for many people, maybe 3/4. A few of us produce too much "moisture", especially when climbing a hill. If I wore anything that was "waterproof", I'd be wetter on the inside than the outside. I found I need to ride with a sofshell jacket with the Gore-tex Windstopper membrane (or similar), and find it breathes better than regular Gore-tex. In typical Seattle rain, I never soaked through on rides of up to 1 to 2 hours with a soft-shell. In an infrequent downpour, I suppose the softshell could be overwhelmed, but that rarely happens. I also found for the amount of moisture I put out, the knock-off coatings that compete with Gore-tex just don't cut it - at least for me. They do not breathe well enough.

Thank you for the kind words.
Re: communication, I've been thinking about addressing the issues around communication with other trail users, especially from the perspective of a cyclist who also goes on walks. It can be a weird mix of distractions and different expectations from everyone involved (stay all the way right, no, face oncoming people, no, take your headphones out, no, you need to alert me to your presence, no, you're bothering me with your alerts, the list goes on)! Perhaps it will be in a future video.
For the wet weather stuff, it's difficult to find the exact setup that will work for everyone. I tend to prefer shorts since I, too, tend to overheat, but others may feel too cold. I figure sharing my setup will help others as they consider their options. I do think the Showers Pass rain pants are pretty awesome, though, as I do like being able to just throw them on over my regular clothes so I don't have to do a change of clothes when I arrive.
