Tried to do mine today but I managed to break away the white part that is attached to the bottom so I guess I have no reverse now. It’s late so I gave up for today will try and see what I am up against to tomorrow. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Not necessarily related to this bud but to your upgrades in general, particularly with the Corsa - did you declare mods to insurance and if so how much did it go up by? I’m thinking of cosmetic mods at mo , air filter, rad pipes, exhaust etc and wondered about insurance. Thanks again for your RUclips content - very informative and interesting
Tried this today, got the two white tabs pushed in easy enough and dropped that bit of plastic down.. but for the life of me I could pull the gear stick up and off. Tried twisting and pulling it, just wouldnt budge.
@@Yodaracing1 Yeah, and im not a tiny lad lol. Feels like its corroded on or something. I'm guessing you gave it one hell of a pull? men vs boys hey. haha
@@D4mo2612 it is a pain u need sunmot hard on the inside of the plastic surround as your stapling it in took me a few attempts I used the handle of a screw driver I think to press it against the stapler
Nah mate won’t be there unfortunately due to it being around a 3 hour drive will keep a eye on the weather if it’s gonna be nice I might pay on the gate
I sent my gearknob and gaiter to inspire automotive, guys a legend looks OE can see pics on Google of his work, was only 50 quid aswell, same as u biggest bastard was getting the knob off lol

Cheers mate I was insured with green light all mods declared visual mods don’t usually push the premium up with them but performance ones do

Having a mare with getting gear knob back on mine. A hammer has been suggested! The sodding thing will not sit back down all the way 💀

@@theitems4242 I just lifted the reverse button and pulled fucking hard whilst twisting a bit nearly punched myself lol
My had gear gator replaced by the last owner but the fitment isn’t great , its like the plastic surround is bigger to clip in to chrome surround
Hmmm that’s odd maybe a after market plastic surround was used ?

What staples and stapler did you use. Mine won't even go into the plastic.
A big one that u would use for carpets or wood usually big chrome things
That's what I've got and the staples won't even go into the plastic. It's for the handbrake and has a black plastic trim.
