What’s good Henny, dope review on this mic. Good to see a RUclipsr/content creator focus on mobile setup. Is the audio and video sync a little off due to lining up the audio file with the video? Or because it’s an external mic on the iPad that makes the delay?
I’ve been trying to figure it out all afternoon, but I think my recordings were 48khz on the HypeMic and I exported the video at 44.1 and didn’t transcode the audio before. Since all my other audio was fine, it had to be that because the audio lined up perfectly in LumaFusion
That would make sense. Was your other audio recorded in 44.1 or 48khz?
Despite the audio difficulties that was a dope video. I didn’t even know a portable mic like that APOGEE was on the market. Much success to you and looking forward to the next dope video.

I remember when Apogee AD/DA converters first came on the scene in the 90’s and 2000’s. Nice to see that they have expanded into mic’s and compression. 100% agree that analog compression is the single thing you need before your mic signal hits digital. Tame those levels down! Great vid Henny.

@@HennyThaBizness I love it man. I was considering Adobe Rush, which is how I ended up on your channel, and you mentioned Luma in comparison. I was ready to hop on to Rush because I'm so familiar with the Adobe brand. But Luma is THE MOVE! I've been trying to clean up my workflow while traveling a lot and being able to leave my laptop at home has been amazing (also grabbed a wireless WD drive).
LumaFusion is straight up Final Cut lite; looovvvveeee it! I wish Apple would purchase the company and then it into FCP, or a way for it to be an extension while editing on the Mac.

I ended up buying this. Even tho is expensive but with all the stuff I bought different cables the amount is about the same and this is simple and less confusing. Also portable… I hope it works with my iPhone 13 mini since the charging cable is different but is still works with the regular lighting cable so it should work. 🤞

I use the new Rode Wireless Go for my iPhone and iPad Air 2. I also have the Rode Filmmaker Wireless Kit that I can use my handheld Rode TX-M2. I also use the Rode NT USB Mic for my iPhone and iPad.

Now I will say until Lumafusion auto syncs audio I'm not sure I want to invest in an external mic...you have by fast the best IOS edited channel I have seen and you consistently push me to make my channel better, thanks for the motivation man.

Personally, I LOVE the max compression! I think it sounds rich.
Looks like a winner. I like the size. It’s easy to get used to using smaller gear. It’s fun nit to have all kinds of clutter in your studio. Sometimes I look at the desk and can’t believe how little is there and the fact that nothing is missing. One small thing. Not that it much matters, but FYI, t’s peripheral, not periphrial. Yes, I am a perfectionist sometimes. Have fun, mr H

It’s ok to have a technical error sometimes. Little errors keeps it real, and, it also looks a little like art drama films from the ‘60s. 👍🏽

Are used the original version of that Mike and still do now, it is an amazing piece of equipment and is living in the shadows of all the others for some reason… I even recorded a four piece orchestra with nothing more than that plugged into my iPad

Dope! Exactly. A wonderful, helpful and educational review. Thank you so very much. I have very little knowledge in sound and recently found myself leading meditations over zoom, with some chanting. I wanted the sound to be good for the participants as I read it can fatigue folks when they are listening to bad sound. Your review is excellent, both in your enthusiasm for this mic and also the way you clearly explain everything, including how to attach the pop filter! I managed to find a ‘renewed’ hype mic on Amazon for $60 less. All that is wrong with it is the box was opened. Nothing else. So very happy. Thank you Henry🙏🌸🤗🌈✨💖

I became curious of what Apogee was doing with mics after as V/O session with Whoopi G, really loving her vocals for an upcoming short film, and it's your awesomely practical review at home and at the studio, that showed the versatility. Man this thing looks sick! I’ve been looking for a good mic for my ipad; quite stupid apple dropped the headphone jack in the pros so you can’t use this in addition to other accessories...but oh well.
