Fantastic advice! Been using the irig since I saw this video. Thank you so much!
Technology just keeps on amazing me...how far we have come.
Suzi has a great voice.
Hi, thanks for the great info! Unfortunately if you are using a USB-C device you’ll also need a hub/adapter. I’ve had great success with the QGeeM model using the USB port. Everything works perfectly.
I also would like to mention if others have the same issue of distortion that I had when using the mic on the earbuds then the Shure SM58 is the way to go. I haven’t had any issues since switching over. I am so happy with my new setup! Thanks again!
great vid mike. as you know i opted for the rode and love it.......i also think your wife could sing into any mic and sound fantastic. keep em coming brother!!!!!
Tysm dear sir....my massive search for microphones for singing on Smule ENDED here. Congratulations for such a comprehensive info at one place. Thank you verrrrry much.Love ❤
I'm using AT2020 microphone with an iRig Pre HD interface and i'm happy about it. It sounds fantastic.
You are a good man😊 given a thumbs up... saved it for my own reference and for friends 😊 thank you!!
Thank you for saving my Smule career⚘🙌🏾⚘
Great video, Mike, clear and concise. I don’t use Smule but I do record my own songs and I have an NT1A. Suzie’s voice sounded really good, can you spill the beanz on the processing you used (delay and reverb) ? Or is it a standard pre-set in Smule? Either way it was ideal for Suzie’s voice and the mood if the song. 👍 Great work, thanks.
Very helpful video indeed. Thanks for making it . Some of the items sadly are not stocked anymore at Amazon at least in the UK
Thank you for the help and info. I’ve been wondering for a while how people have been doing this on Smule. It really helps if you have a wonderful voice like Suzie.
Thank you!!! This video has been very helpful!!!
Agreed, fantastic voice
Really good tutorial - very lucid, and Suzi has a lovely voice!
This is the video that i will recommend for people asking me how to use condenser microphones for iphones without 3.5 mm jack. :) thanks so much sir!
Suzie has a beautiful voice. I’m so glad to know that it’s possible to use these microphones without actually wearing headphones!!
Can you recommend some earphones to use with these types of microphones? Thank you so much for your video!! It was well-made! 🥰🥰🥰
This is a great video. It covers three microphones that will cover all singers needs. Great job!
Excellent video !! Really insightful

Excellent info...thank you so much
Thank you very much. This was very helpful
A very nice presentation I have a small question. How to use the iRig to sing and record with a pre-recorded track for the song, or sing live with one? It would be great if you could help! thanks
Very helpful!!! Thank you!
Suzi has a beautiful voice ^^ and thank you for this video
Thanks very much for posting this. Would the standard Irig pre work or does it need to be the HD version? Thanks.
Great informative video!
Lovely video Sir. Very useful. Just need to know if the is a similar way of capturing the video through an additional camera without relying on the phone camera
Thanks for this very helpful video.
Hi, thank you for your very informative video... Will Rode NT1 work with XLR to 3.5mm connector? Instead of getting the Pre HD iRig? Or having the iRig is a must? Thank you!
Hi, thanks for these tips. Is it possible to connect the audio/video output to an amplifier or mixer so that you can actually see the video on a big screen tv and the audio make it even louder, if connected to an amp or mixer?
Super star, thank you very much. Just what I needed.
I am new to Smule (lifelong singer). I bought the Rode NT USB, so it plugs right into a hub for my iPad. Learning how to set it up for good sound, and appreciate your content.
I use an ipad can you explain your set up please?
@@kristymendoza4790 sure! I bought a hub with a usb-c plug that goes into the iPad. The hub receives the usb mic. The mic I bought has a headphone jack for monitoring sound.
This is the one I bought, which is no longer available, but you can find something like it
USB C Hub, iTeknic USB C Adapter 9-in-1 Dongle with 4K HDMI, RJ45 Ethernet, 3 USB-A Data Transfer, SD/TF Card Slots, Mic/Audio, PD Charging, Compatible for MacBook Air/Pro and Type C Laptops www.amazon.com/dp/B07TT9P9KQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_2Y2KYHCPDAASWMM68G88?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Please do!
@@raincandy3 I have a hub with multiple inputs (USB, USB-C, Microphone jack, etc. ) that goes into the USB-C port on my iPad. Basically plug and play
Super video and really helpfull. Thank you very much.
Good morning, to connect the
condenser microphone on the iphone is fine even if I buy the model
IK Multimedia iRig Pro I / O MIDI interface, 24 bit / 96kHz, with both battery and power supply?
Thank you!
Best regards and happy new year.
John
Brilliant, thank you
Hi, Thanks for the nice video. I was wondering if I could use the same set up to sing and record karaoke songs from youtube or any other site?

Awesome video and tips!! I definitely need to try this!! How do you be able to here the music and sing? Would I need an earpiece for that? Thanks again!! Subscribed!! 😇 ❤
Hi, I've been wondering if you had any advice on using a USB condensor mic to iPhone. I have a Shure PG42, which I used to be able to get it to work using a Trust powered USB adapter and the Apple camera connection kit adapter, but now it seems to always state the device takes too much power. I was dissapointed to see iRig didn't do an adapter with the USB connection.
Thanks for this very informative video.
Is there a way to hook up Smule to AVID M-box 3?
Very helpful Video ✊🏾✨✨
Wonderful information ! I’m going to order one of these mics this week. Quick question if anyone can answer -if you don’t want the over ear headphones to record videos, what type of wireless is best to use in conjunction with the mics ?
Thanks for a helpful and very well produced video. And my question has more to do with the latter - what is your mike and where the heck is it? Love your audio clarity and levels - which seem to quite happily absorb your moving your head around a bit as you speak. You post-process your audio at all? (I am going to look through your YTs to see if you've covered this somewhere else :)
But overall, great work - thank you. Anyone making instructional or informational videos would do well to model theirs on your work.
Cheers matey. (and my thanks to your lady - a very pleasant way of hearing the comparisons)
Haha - thanks. Actually in this video I used a very cheap 'lav' mic taped to my chest under my shirt. These mics, also called 'lapel mics' are often clipped to clothing - but I dont like the way it looks on a t-shirt, so I tape it to my chest. I think the brand is 'Boya' and it cost something like $25!
Will pass thank onto Suzi - and yes, shes a joy to sing with :)
Thank you so much, Sir!
My pleasure. Thank YOU!
Nice thank you. Irig and mic sorted… the output now comes from?
Hi thanks for the video, can you create another on how to use a audio mixer with Smule. Although the mic way is an alternative but there's no way to adjust individual sound settings. The first mic is abt to clip, the last mic picks up too much plosive.
Whats the diffirence between the HD and pro I/O? I own a irig pre now , but considdering to buy another one. Good video keep it up.
Thanks for your useful advice. Just one quick question - can I use an audio interface or sound mixer instead of of the iRig?
Thank you very much of the sharing, that's amazing . May I ask how to singing on the smule and at the same time do the live broadcast on social media such as RUclips, fb or ig ?I am new on smule and finding a way to sing live broadcast outdoors while walking. Is there any handy way, thanks !
tq for the nice information ..can upgred my quality sound of smule
Im also using the iRig works perfectly 👍
Hello ! Thanks for the information. Can you tell me please how you connect the last micro with the telephone ? You have not explained but just present this micro. Thanks by advance.
Useful video, thanks❤️❤️❤️
How much is 1 complete set of that microphone?
Thank u creative sauce for sharing useful info for all
Thanks a lot👍As a Smule user it’s useful.👌👌👌
The Rode is sitting in my cart… now going to purchase it with the IRig lol. Cheers bud!
Nice explanation!!! Grt8
What setup would you recommend for an ipod touch 5th gen? I've recently got one just for using smule on because I was tired of the limitations of android, but it doesn't support lightning accessories.
Would a 3.5 to lightning converter work or is there another setup with a 3.5mm jack that would work? Honestly I cant even get the ipod touch to stop using it's internal mic.
Thanks Sir is very helpful tutorial
HI txs for your informative clip .. Which interface (power supply) would you recommend if I want to record vocals / songs from Android (like Starmaker or Smule App)? The interface should be connected to a android phone (usb c) and a ipad or a PC a the same time (perhaps with an adapter / usb hub) That will make possible to have the starmaker app on the big screen too, -also for a live broadcasting.. Can the above be done with the Interface like Steinberg ur 22 c? Or recommend an other idea/product? Your kind help would be great. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for this. I definitely need this. What is the difference between the
iRig Pre HD microphone interface and the iRig Pre 2 XLR Mic Interface and Preamp? The second one is definitely more affordable for me. I only want it for recording my singing on the Smule app on my iPhone 11, and I just want good quality vocals. I already have a condenser mic. What do you advise?
Can;t agree with you more. I use the SM58 and the IRig PRE HD and is just fantastic. But what aroused my curiousity was the connector from the iRig Pre HD to the microphone. Just a small connection and saves the mess of cables all over. Where can I buy this connector and does it have a name for it. Thanks
Thanks plz update links for those Mic 🎤 🎙 very helpfully video I have been looking for a video like this for a very very long time... I really like how you show how to make those connections many people don’t show how to connect, they just assume but you took the time to show not just how they sounds but Oslo how to get there ... so thanks.., for the details on your video
very nice video for smule singers...thanks a lot...
in the tests performed that settings / effects have been set to smule? super studio ?? what values ???
thanks
Hi and Congratulations on the beautiful voice of Suzi, I just tried L'Iring Pre Hd with shure sm58 microphone, samsung galaxy s9 + android phone and smule app. I noticed 2 things:
- With Direct Monitoring in headphones connected to the device, obviously I have no effect on the voice, unless you turn up the volume of the feedback from the App, but in this case the effect comes back to me with Latency.
- After registering, there is a latency between 150 and 200 ms (which I can still correct from the App).
Do you have any advice for me? Thanks a lot in advance.
What a beautiful voice
Hey! Thanks for the video ... can you make a video showing how make connection ... with Presonus AudioBox 96 Studio Package ... on iPad to use with Smule app... thanks
I can't believe that no one said it yet, so I will: what a beautiful song! I just listened to it on Spotify, beautiful melody and beautifully sung, arranged, played and recorded! Awesome stuff!
Thank you, you are very kind :)
You are welcome. The song is an original, right? It is very nice, I am going to add it to my repertoire if you don't mind...
Yes. Actually I wrote the first verse for a bit of fun to try out some mics in a previous video. A number of people mentioned they would like to hear the rest of the song, so I finished it off :)
I would be absolutely honoured if you added it to your repertoire:) let me know so I can check it out, thank you :)
Wow thank you so much! Now I know what to get, I have a question is there a Balance we should keep With the vocal volume ? Sometimes my voice sounds louder than the music, playing So… I wondered if you should keep both at the same level? Hope I make sense
Hello! This is so useful! I have bought all this kit, but can only use on ipad as the android connection is producing incredibly loud interference (playback is just loud white noise/static). I am using a USB Adaptor with the cable provided. Has any else experienced this? I'm assuming it's down to the cable connecting the irig to the phone?
Good video and useful information
Ihave got xenyx q502 usb output mixer and sm54 mic how to connect this to iphone6s which connector to use
one more question i have a PA set up at home with a usb mixer
is there a way to get smule to recognise the mic if you try to record from the pc?
Thanks!
What about the iRig Pre for a dynamic mic? Such a mic does'nt need any power. Is the IRig Pre still the best thing to use or does there exist something else that is more useful?
Sub’d at ten seconds in. Nice videos.
Thanks🌹❤😊 for your excellent👍 information
how about apogee hypemic? Have you tested it or would you recommend it?
I feel the studio effect does enough post-processing there's very minor differences.
If I have the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, can I use that in place of the iRig Pre HD?
I'm a smule lover❤💞love to sing and I'm looking also for what's the best microphone for my Android phone. Love it while I'm watching this
hello so this microphone is good for smule please let me know
Great video!
Thank you, It is great, I know better to get better sound on the smule
Beautiful voice
Hi Mike, I'm a subscriber to your channel from the UK and purchased the Rode nt1a I'm at odds in how to use with my Galaxy S8+ the extras you mentioned like the OTG Adaptor and Connecter does not complete what I need to plug into my Galaxy phone as the lead from the mic is XLR, so what would additional piece of attachment would I need to plug into the end of the XLR cable please?
As I'm sitting here with everything you said I would need but still unable to use it
Thanks, David
Hi.. thank you for this very useful video. I want to listen ONLY TO THE KARAOKE and not my voice in the headphones while singing. How this can be done? Will the headphone port in the phone still work? Please reply Thanks
