Scrolling through your library and found this gem. I’ve been collecting parts for a 68 LeMans foot brake drag race project and purchased a 455 from a guy who was cleaning out his garage. The engine came with a complete 4 speed setup all from a 75 Trans-Am including a 2 ring Super T-10 and Hurst shifter. Thank you for your content and inspired me to make my first attempt to rebuild my daughter’s transmission (TBD). Next will be a THM400 the LeMans.

Many of the Muncie 4 speeds ended up in oval track cars. Just about all of them had the parts for 1st, and second gear removed to reduce rotating weight. Some guys are still using them in the street stock class, the late models and modified most guys use the Bert that has an internal clutch to reduce rotating weight. Powerglides are pretty much a thing of the past, but now and then one pops up. All use direct drive with no converter. Holley carb jets are in the valve body so you can slip low and reverse, high gear is direct no slip. Many of the Glides use the stamped steel planetary to cut done on rotating weight.

    Hello
    I just finished my 1950 chevy truck swap to 6.0 L LS2 with 4L80E
    and PSI harness
today was my first start for the truck
and in the first test drive, it moved smoothly from 1st 2nd 3rd gear
then I parked the truck to work on the tail light.
then I tried to change the truck's place to park it inside the garage I noticed that the gear is not shifting its stuck on the 1st gear. its move from P_R_N_D smooth
I checked the oil and it was fine
    no leaking
checked the solenoid it was plugged correctly
    and idea what's going on?
by the way, I didn't tune the truck yet
is it from tuning? do its need tunning?
engine and transmission? or it could from something else
help pls - and idea whats going on >?

      I am doing a 49, same power train !
I assume you have a factory PCM? Was it a 4L80E operating system already?
      Check engine light on?

I've seen Saginaws in some Vegas and heard GM used M22s in some 70"s GTOs

Maybe the 1973 Malibu was a Muncie candidate?

The volume on your videos is always low. When the ads come on, we get blasted.

Sorry to hear that, pun not intended!
I watch all the videos and don’t experience that, but I wish I knew how to fix it for you!

The T-10 is a piece of junk. The super T-10 is a good tranny. The 400 output, fine spline input M-22 muncie is the one. I bought a wide ratio super case version from Auto Gear, awesome. M-20/21 have 45 degree helix and M-22 has a 22.5 degree helix. That’s why they whine. If you wail on a Saginaw you will blow all the retaining rings off the main shaft. Lol I did it.
