      @Boston Area Homes by Noune K Is Watertown Massachusetts walkable? For a deafblind person to in the future to raise a deafblind child, walk to stores, and needed errands, i.e. grocery store, post office, bank, etc. Thats near Perkins School For the Blind? If possible a safe neighborhood, and buy/ rent a small apartment. Ha, this might be to much of a sweet spot to be able to live at but, if its possible, id love to live in a spot like this. :)

      @@Girl_-fs6nx If you live on Mt. Auburn street close to many grocery stores, yes, you can walk to the stores and there are many nice areas but the Perkins School for the Blind is a little further away from those areas, @Lilly

      @@BostonAreaHomes Thank you SO much for replying! Ok, Ill look into the area, weighing the pros and cons, but this is a positive on my list, and helped me out alot, on where to start my research and to be more equipped on where to live, and to raise a child, ok, that is a little bit of a con, for the school, situation, if possible do you know if there is a ride service for disabled people? Or busses that pass by the area, to get close to the school? Thank you so much again, and Ill do more research on the area!

      @@Girl_-fs6nx I am sure the school will have school buses, usually all schools do. For regular buses you can put the address in the google map and press the button for public transport, or walking, or driving, it's a great tool

    I spent several months in Watertown in 2010. Came to the US by the Work and Travel Program. I worked at Dunkin Donuts. Lived in an apartment on Main street.

    Hi Nouné, interesting guide, thanks. My friend and I are planning a visit to Boston and Watertown. Would appreciate any information on a city tour. I am particularly interested in seeing the Armenian landmarks (churches, shops, cultural centres). Thanks.

      Hi Harry, all that info is readily available online. Sorry, I don't deal with city tours. For the Armenian landmarks, the best way is to rent a car and drive around Watertown and visit 3-4 Armenian stores, Armenian Library and Museums in Watertown and Arlington. There are 3 churches in Watertown, one in Belmont and several others in other parts of Massachusetts.

    Nice town but schools are awful compared to neighboring communities like Newton, Belmont and Lexington.

    • @BostonAreaHomes
      @BostonAreaHomes  2 года назад +4

      I wouldn't call Watertown schools awful, I have many friends whose children graduated WHS and are in excellent colleges. The school rankings are not that high in Watertown compared to the other towns you mentioned, that's true, but their criteria is based on things like college readiness and grades, which might be due to how the students' families look at education not that the school is not providing them with the knowledge. If the caregivers are on top of things, the child does as well as the children in the other schools. If caregivers have to work 50-80 hours a week and don't have time to devote to their offspring's education, the grades go down. In wealthy towns, things are different.
