Finally, a video that takes care to show different methods of removing the clips from the ignition coils. I have broken them before trying to pry mine off. They get brittle! I knew there was some simple way to do this but I surely couldn't find it. Can't believe it's just a little pick. Thank you!
Easy!!! I just did this job with my 14 yr old son, I am disabled, in 20 minutes. If we can do it, anyone can. Getting the clips off is the hardest part, used the pick idea and they came right off. Thanks for the video, you just saved me hundreds of dollars!!!
@ripripstabstab The extention I used there looks like an 8 inch and the socket is 5/8" spark plug socket.

It means to tighten the spark plug using an exact amount of force - no more, no less. You use a torque wrench to accomplish this - there are many types out there but each one has some method of letting you know how much torque you are applying. I don't advise performing this process without one. I bought a $25 "beam" style torque wrench at Sears, no need for a fancy pants one that clicks for this process IMO.

@TheProgrammer NGK and other spark plug manufacturers do pre-gap spark plugs. Just check that it is the correct gap for your vehicle.

what do you mean when you say torque the spark plug to the proper torque speck? this is the first time i'm going to attempt this i just wanna make sure. also, with the torque wrench, how does it identify that i have properly torqued the spark plug? thank you.
In ElsaWin written, for replace ignition coil,you should be little bit raise up ignition coil,before unplug wire, using special hand tool. To make it easy for you, unplug wire from ignation coil.
What is the stock spark plugs for a 2008 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0T?
2006 Audi A4 2.0T spark plug gap manual says 0.035 or 0.889mm Personally I disconnect negative on battery and blow out the spark plug channel before loosening spark plug.
*In this video they tell you to use 30 newton-meters or 22 ft-lbs. of torque at about the 2:20 mark of the video

What is the proper spark plug gap for the 2008 Audi A4 2.0T? I bought some NGK Iridium plugs and they're pre-gapped at 0.032 inches / 0.8 mm.
Bryan S 32 is a good gap for the A4. I ran a larger gap and my car hesitated during acceleration

Hey I just did this for my 2008 Audi A4 Quattro and it attempted to start but ended up clicking, them I loosened them a little thinking there were too tight and just clicking. Can anyone help me? I can’t even put my windows up for the night.

Hello Antonio - What are the DTCs (Diagnostic trouble codes) you are seeing? This requires a scan tool or go to a large autoparts store and they can scan your car.
Thanks @ Bentley publisher they scan the car and they said was cilinder 4 bad conbustion and they change all the coils and sparkplugs and the light turn off for few days and then turn back on what else can be

Hmm. Could still be a number of things. Have the tech look at fuel trim number. Check for other codes. what was the exact code definition? A bad mass air flow sensor can often only flag one cylinder. More diagnostics is needed. Too expensive to throw parts at the problem.
Hello please help ! i have a 2006 audi a4 2.0t and my CEL flashes when i start the car. I took it to a mechanic shop that works on BMW,AUDI,PORCHE,VW cars and others and they charged me 600 for a new fuel injector. after that the car ran fine and wasn't shaking when at idle or startup. it was perfectly fine then the CEL came on again a few weeks later and the engine is rough when i start it and its leaking oil. i got my codes pulled up and i got P0304(CYLINDER 4 MISFIRE DETECTED), P0171(BANK 1 SYSTEM TOO LEAN),P0301(CYLINDER 1 MISFIRE DETECTED), P0300(MULTIPLE MISFIRE). I'm going to change my coils and see if that'll fix the problem. ill keep y'all updated.

Just bought plugs for my 07 A4 today pregapped at .044 specs called for .032 gap on my turbo 4cyl

The hardest part is removing those dang plastic connectors. I snapped all 4 of mine:-(

the trick is to pull the harness in, press the button connector and then push out. the harness should disconnect with ease.
