      Hi Reynardlowell, love your channel and wondering about something and wanted to get you idea on it. I plan to add a modern 5 glass panel front door on my house and I also wanted to do a glass door near or same look on my bathroom for extra lighting in the one window bathroom. The bathroom door is around 17 ft away from the front door in an open door way to the living room and diningroom so its all in view of the same doors. That would be too much of the same thing right? Should I go with a solid glass door for the bathroom door? Privacy glass of course, other then solid glass there are the 5 and 4 panel doors. Thanks if you are able to reply.

    I think it takes time to find the right pieces and often people are just in a hurry to furnish a place, without considering the size of the room or how it will actually be used. Many times this either leads to rooms that are plain, inadequate and not fit for purpose, or that look like they came straight out of an ikea or crate and barrel catalogue

      It's also really difficult to find the right choice online, atleast that was my experience, wasting hours on Wayfair finding nothing or being disappointed when it arives because it's not real wood etc.

    White & taupe works well in that room.

    Reynard, I love your posts. Unlike most, you do not push your personality and/or dog as the most important thing. I like getting these tips from a man. You are logical, analytical, and give examples of exactly what you are talking about. (Please don't flash these so fast). I understand you perfectly without all the aggressive nonsense "personality".
    I had a living room that was mid-toned tan and grey to white, without any architectural interest in the slightest. I couldn't believe the difference black made. And even very dark brown. I also added a ultra-marine blue in small doses, and even smaller amount of burnt orange (rust) and even more texture. Of course big artwork too. Sculptural rounded chairs.
    I have drapes of polyester but look like linen, because I was afraid the linen dye would fade too fast. I think it does, but fake linen won't fade.
    Thank you.

    • @reynardlowell
      @reynardlowell  Месяц назад +3

      Yes you're right, 100% linen will likely fade with intense sunlight. I personally like the middle ground of linen poly blend, or linen cotton poly blend, gets the best of both.

    I bought a grey sofa as I thought it would be a 'safe' colour and I didn't know what my colour scheme would be. Now really regret it 😅 trying to distract by putting colourful cushions/throws on it. Any other ideas welcome!!

      Removable cover on the toss pillows that match the sofa, and add rectangular or cylinder lumbar pillow. Vary the shade and texture (ie linen, nubby, silky). Or vary the pattern (ie 1 large plaid, 1 medium solid, 1 tiny geometric). Drape a lightweight throw over sofa or plop in basket nearby.

    Does cat fur count as “texture”??!!

    • @reynardlowell
      @reynardlowell  Месяц назад +4

      Yes definitely! I mean every surface is technically a "texture", it's just with the accessibility MDF and chipboard furniture (plus accessories like fake plants, etc), many spaces end up with only one and the same smooth surface, making it look flat and sterile.
