- So like is buying a penny board worth it still? with so many other competitors, should you or should you not buy a penny board?
In this video, I will be explaining penny boards, showing you the alternatives, and helping you to decide whether you should buy one?
Want to get it?
Penny boards are tiny plastic cruiser boards that have become very popular and mainstream over the years. Lots of people that don’t necessarily skate probably have one, but there have been very mixed thoughts on them. I want to give you answers.

Love u guys.
Skate to school-...sadly where i live they dont do that so like its a bit weird but idc it looks fun :)))
it would be cool but I lived too far from mine to skate there, still would be cool tho.
@@tpalmer was should you
in my country the roads are so shit we cant skate to school and I live pretty near mine its not walking distant that's why I want to skate to it instead but I don't wanna die when I suddenly run into a pebble my school is down a hill.
Me too
@@shittuspostus754 here In Malaysia the roads in our capital are smoother than skateparks 😐
I've had the exact same design but in a 27", finally getting back into riding it and might also get a regular skateboard later on this year since I've been looking into just general skating too.
i'd highly suggest getting a normal board. and right on man, its a hard design to come by nowadays
The 22" takes up to 72mm wheels without alteration and there is NO better take everywhere transport option and with ceramic bearings w/o grip take or wood a perfect all-weather board.
Nice video ! Yeah I’ve been looking for a video like this because I’ve debated with myself if I should get a skateboard or penny board, I’m a college student & doing tricks doesn’t call my attention, I just want something light and that can move me fast besides my car.
Go for it, its cheaper than other options and I think still pretty decent, would not consider it the best option but for price and versatility, I would say its a good option.
Is it just me or I name the boards Penny 22” then Nickel 27”, Dime 29” Quarter 32” then Dollar 36” orrr I’m just crazy.......
I mean, I cant say I do the same but name em whatever ur feelin homie, aint no judgement here
Isn't that what they are named tho?
Fun fact: "Penny" has nothing to do with money, and is named for the creator's sister.
I ride 22 inch penny. The best board in the world.
I have electric longboard and regular skatepark board too but… penny with its light weight and big wheels roll really smooth in my situations.
I rarely find use for my skatepark board. It more like my souvenir. I don’t have skatepark anywhere near so I just cruise on the streets and check out beautiful girls.
Electric board is very cool but it’s heavy, large and needs to be charged. It’s like taking a bicycle out.
While penny is just 😎👍🏻 perfect. Attach it to the backpack or just hold it with two fingers. No problem.
For all the traveling, beach and city life loving people… penny is the greatest investment you will ever make. Get this board and… new routes, new friends, new girlfriends, new adventures, new life… it’s gonna change you my friend. Get it and ride it!
I got a penny to start with, I'm going to buy a larger board too. The penny is fun but is pretty unforgiving when you're learning
Yeah it can be a bit annoying but it’s a reliable board. Nearly indestructible!
*I was thinking of buying one these days.*
do it. at least i would, or buy one off me made of wood(id say its better but thats for you to decide)
@@tpalmer were can i buy one
@@stevemartini470 just buy a skateboard at your local shop
Just today I get an order the same penny board that you have your haha
Nice!
You did an amazing job! You really helped me!! Thanks 💖👍
Glad I could help! let me know if you watch my other videos by leaving a comment!
Just bought mine for about 30 bucks recently, its a 22 inch and since it was brand new, it just bends a lot. I am new to this so I don't really know if its normal or not, maybe because its an offbrand? or do original pennys bend also? pleasee heelp
they all bend, but penny's usually are strong and bend as necessary and then go back to their proper shape
Hey i have a question, I really wanna buy a penny board mainly for getting from my house to various locations cause i really dont like bikes and scooters, the road is mainly straight. Do you recommend?
Edit: Sorry for my english its my second language.
if you're just wanting to travel locally, I would get a wood cruiser board, which is the size I referred to in between a longboard and penny size. It will be most comfortable and also most efficient. slightly more expensive though
What did you take ?
omfg thanks for u making this vid. very helpful tbh
Glad you liked it! please share it would help so much!!
Just get my new penny board 🌚
Practicing to get use to it
Really like the way u talking subscribed ✅🤘🙆🏻♀️
Thanks!
are you used to it ?
I have a question like I bought some cheap skateboard and it was so bad that his wheels broke so now I'm scared to try it again but like I wanna use penny board for just hanging with friends and like driving around but u also said that u wouldn't recommend for beginners so like idk should I buy a normal skateboard or penny board? Btw. Your vids are super cool, continue like that! ✌😄
I appreciate that you like my videos! really! but honestly I think that buying a penny board is going to suit you better than a crappy skateboard. more money in a board the better, but either tomorrow or the next day ill have a new video coming out that will recommend a different board to try out so be sure to stick around for that!
tbh im new to skateboarding and my first board was a penny board. but I'm not too sure to ride it or not because its really small so I was just wondering that am I supposed to buy the normal skateboard first. if yes is the normal skateboard smooth enough cruise around it. is it better or not
Is it safer to ride on streets or sidewalks? My street isn’t that smooth but my sidewalks have these gaps in between them and I’m scared my wheels would get caught in it.
I mean, its all your choice. id say skate wherever it's best to do that day. I prefer the street because there is more freedom there
great video g✊🏽 helped a lot with my decision
Sounds good stay tuned for next week when I review some other boardS!
I feel like 100$ is too much for penny, so I'm gonna look for used ones. Do you have any advice on how to check the board and trucks? I'm gonna swap out the wheels anyway, I have ricta clouds 78a and some fresh bearings.
bearings, if you are getting your own and making a custom modded board, I would get a brand like reds, or an equivalent bearing that is an abec 7 (longboard bearings-super smooth ride, long spin time), and I would get reverse kingpin trucks personally if I was trying to do anything besides normal skating. Personally i'm partial to cruiser boards from brands like landyachts, so thats what I would do if you didn't want to buy a penny.
@@tpalmerPennys come with abec 7 🧐
I know that Penny boards aren't really suit for beginners but I'm just prob going to use it for hanging out and stuff for now do you think that fine? I'm planning to buy one in a few weeks or should I just go for another type of board?
Penny boards are legitimate the hardest to learn. A nickel board is a great size for a compact skateboard that offers more. If you particularly want a retro cruiser board feeling. Penny board it is, if not a nickel board gives very similar feeling but more forgiving.
I think I can partially agree with that^ but honestly if you learn on a penny you'll just be better at riding other boards. so take it how you want but I think either way you'll be good if you really wanna learn.
Just got a nickel board today, pretty dope but I’m struggling w turning, literally fell on my ass a couple times trying lol
I made a new video about how to ride a penny and which board to get (nickel or penny!) it should help!
You got a new sub :D
thank you!
I bout mine today and I learned how to ride in 20 mins 👁👄👁
aye right on. it ain't hard to do but you'd be surprised by how many people need advice on it.
Why didn’t you buy the nickel 27”?? Is it to big to travel/ have on a backpack?? I have a 22” pennyboard now (have since I was a teenager and learned to skate on it) but it’s what you said pretty uncomfortable for long cruising 😅. So I’m considering to buy a new pennyboard but then the nickel “27, do you have any tips?
I’d say if you have a penny 22” already get the 27 just to have another option. But I still prefer the 22”
Nice vid! I hate penny boards so much. the deck is way too small. I like longboards for travel and regular skateboards for everything else
hey dude everyones got their thing but thanks for the comment, and when I say travel, I mean like being able to put the board in a suitcase ya feel? but yeah I prefer other things over penny's for sure
@@tpalmer yea when I said travel I meant getting from point A to point B
Bro I been having a kryptonics for 3 years and it still rides smooth
I skate a 9.0 deck and wear a size 12 shoe. I tried my friends Penny board and eat shit.
Very well put together
I think I want the 27” inch penny board and a skateboard. It will cost me just under $275 because I want a specific deck for the skateboard. I need something for cruising so I can ride to school.
I would recommend looking into getting the landyachtz Dinghy boards! as seen in a more recent video I did. BY FAR MY FAVORITE RIDE
Hang out do whatever. Don't wanna walk all the way to the gas station. Ok then I'm getting one
idk but im getting random hype about getting a penny. Is that good if I only use penny board when I go somewhere?
I mean its def not bad as a small form of transport. wouldn't recommend long transits but short trips its easy and convenient to ride, but if you don't like the width of it (5 inches) maybe look into buying an eggboard instead. its good for transport and roughly the same length, but wider and more comfortable.
You can buy one here: eggboards.com/?ref=xr0l70rsdw
It is an affiliate link "TRENTPALMER" for 10% OFF!
So see the 22inch one is that like still big? (For the pennyboard
yes, I mean it's 22 inches haha. use the thumbnail for scale (as in like my hand in comparison to the board). hope this helps and make sure to share!
@@tpalmer Ok thanks,i, planning on getting me and my friend one for Christmas..we have never skated before i have a tiny bit! ((: ty
I'am really regretting buying the wood(penny board) it's so heavy also the turning won't just go as I one. Anyone riding wooden penny board (any tips)
Edit:Also after looking at the vids I just notice him saying 32 inch is pretty ugly lmao that's the shape and size which iam using currently had me lol💔
Haha. Sorry mate! Best of luck with your board and if you need advice let me know!
I'm day 2 of riding skateboard. when should.i get one
Prob should get one sooner than later.
I got mine for 30$ its pretty cool. Instead of rubber, it has grip tape. It turns amazing.
What brand did you get?
Probably Chaser, cuz i got one myself too. It's also in grip tape and it costs the same ($30)
Welp I bought one today and I already know how to ride it XD btw where did you get the backpack
So my penny board is a custom print. I got it ab 6 years ago so it’s hard to say that it’s available anymore. But. I got it from the actually penny Australia site. They have a few backpacks on there but they’re hard to find if I’m honest. Lmk if you need help
@@tpalmer k thx
Strange that was my first and I balance on any board they are awesome!!!
I’m a totally beginner, And I’m thinking to buy the Maui & sons cookie skate board ,,
Is it the right skate board for me ?
never heard of it sorry! I wish I could help more
Are the ones on amazon any good??
new video about some amazon boards tomorrow at noon, check in then!
I’m confused by the 22 and the 27 inch , I’m worried that if I get the 22 one is going to be small and difficult to ride.
What should I do ??
Amazing video btw ⭐️
If you aren’t comfortable with the size of the 22”, go with the 27” in that case
@@tpalmer what an answer
My old one broke and I got the flame one and I love it
Nice hahaha
WHERE YOU GET THE BACKPACK PLS TELL ME
It was from the official website. But the problem is that I can’t seem to find it anymore anywhere. It was custom matched to my deck which was an option they used to sell but haven’t for a long time now. Mine broke and it’s the saddest thing ever my guy
When you have 1,55 meters... almost a kid size so the cons are almost any.
what do ya mean?
@@tpalmer I mean that, because I'm short the cons are not many
I want to buy a second hand used penny board. Wheels seem a little worn. Would that be an issue ?
nah, unless theyre like dry-rotted, you should be good
Where did you get your pennyboard
from their official website. www.pennyskateboards.com/
I'm gonna get a penny and I want to go to school with it but I don't have somewhere to put it after and I just have in my hand a thingy to check if it fits somewhere
Just carry it aeound
Para ser honesto, si vives en un país como México y las calles de tu ciudad son una kk y no hay parques de skate, en lo personal no te lo recomiendo :v
Wee nunca pensé eso ahora me arrepiento
Make a video on how to make a skateboard plz
one day! life is a bit too busy rn but I will eventually
i have a skateboard bc of the wheel size i cant ride it when going point to point and i cant really ride it on the side roads. i can really only ride it on smooth areas and do tricks which is why i wanna buy a penny board. so i can go from point a to point b faster and with ease
I’d say get a landyachtz dinghy!
I L0VE PENNYBOARD
me too!
I'm really curious why do you have exactly the same adidas hat on your wall
Ones like older and I wear a hat like all the time so I have an extra
@@tpalmer ye bro, absolutely you do but, hats are equal to all-stars, more older means more fashioned 👻
@@tpalmer overall, great video, thank you for that. But I do have a question: Do you know what wheels and what bearing should I look for once I want a cruiser to go to work on bad quality roads? I should say that the best one would be the softer and resistent, but how should search for this? Thank you so much
oh jeez sorry for not responding I never saw this. best thing to do in my opinion is get the widest, best turning trucks that will work for the deck you are skating (i.e. double kingpin longboard trucks or something similar, and make sure your bearings are abec 7 from a brand like bones redds)
@@tpalmer thank u!!!
Respect for replying to everyone’s comment anyway u dropped this 📌 can I have it
I was thinking abt getting a penny board bc it’s light weight and a little cheaper than a skateboard but I realize that I’m a size 9 1/2 and I’m only 12 so I uh ya
im a 10 a1/2 but honestly, I can skate it fine, and I know people bigger than me who can as well, you can watch this video ruclips.net/video/1G1hv6QjNYE/видео.html to learn how to ride! enjoy!
@@tpalmer ok thanks for the advice!!!
tbh if ur bigger get a nickel i am 12 and a penny board is way too small
I think a lot of it comes down to balance, and preference but we're all different
Can you show us penny board tricks because I have a penny boards and I want tricks
I can try in the future, but im not real good at em
While I respect this....I have to say....my Kryptonics Torpedoes are every bit as viable. That's 34 bucks compared to 100. MHO
the bearings and wheels do not compare though. bearings determine so much
@@tpalmer Redz are cheap and work fine for me. 👍
@@JB-js4xi redz are great. My go to are the big balls
@@tpalmer I think it is all preference...we are always going to tweak boards like we want them. I just really love the Kryptonics Torpedo decks...shape, size and flex...I have one with Redz and shark wheels, one that's stock and one with some cheap soft light up wheels. All are fun to me. I ride the Kryptonics Torpedo 28 inch ones stock...I haven't changed anything and they're just awesome to ME. I'm 53 yo female who grew up with plastic and fiberglass little boards and just love them.🥰. I bought an original Coyote 3 recently and have to do new bushings and I'm not sure....the wheels are super hard but look so cool.
Amazon has pretty good board
which one? could you drop a link?
Why I'm watching this if I already have penny board
I feel that, I watch alot of stuff like this and have like 6 boards.
@@tpalmer I watch these kind of videos because I have low confidence on if pennyboards are cool or not...
Are they like- nooby or childish and not skat-ish?
Me time traveler

glad you're here!
What if you ride mongo style?
I mean, I don't suggest riding mongo cuz you'll prob never be as comfortable skating as you can be, but to each your own, still, I would recommend one of these boards if you agree with one of my reasons.
Good
Thanks
Too bad I bought it alr-
Hahhaa
i just bought it !!
right on, hope you enjoy it
THE 29 INCH LOOKS SO WEIRD HAHA
Yeah fr haha

What about a big penny boad
