Glue won't hold to a waxed line and your end loop can pull out. A proper end loop would be a big improvement. Your loop to loop connection can easily slide to one side or the other of your double line which defeats the purpose of having a double line.
a piece of four wire bent to make a v works just fine,,,,and when you use a set of crimpers the cutters make a clean flatend ...wich eliminates the snadpaper
This is single walled wind on without using the tanaka(sp) braid to lock the loop in. I prefer the double walled bridal with a more stream lined serving. It's personal preference.
fishaddict2 I agree. This m fer works for IGFA & there's bums on here telling him he made it wrong. This m fer has probably chased blue marlin all over the world
If you don't mind me asking, what brand of Dacron do you use? I'm trying to make 500lb mono wind ons and 600lb cable wind ons for shark fishing. I bought some dacron from bass pro, only to find out it has an atrocious amount of wax on it and in it. I then bought some jerry brown hollow core, and the 200lb test jerry brown is too thin for even my splicing needle.
Also, I would go in farther if you are using dacron. Not sure why you would use darcon for the windon.... Hollow braid is better and you don't have to thread it in as far. Dacron is great for backing.
One improvement would be to properly create a spliced end loop that cannot pull out. This one can easily be pulled apart.

Thank you for make in video and easy way to learn the wind on leader.

i dont think ive heard the word dacron used so many times bofore.
Brilliant, thank you
Nelson, what would you do to improve the splice?
good but where can we use this loop kindly help me
Guys, tell me is what this hollow core is used for? It gives ultimate abrasion resistance or what?
Your video doesn't show how to terminate the half hitches you used to serve the end of your connections. Shouldn't both ends be sefved?
Can you explain the usage of the set up ?
Offshore ocean trolling and jigging for pelagic fish, marlin swordfish, tuna
I'd like to hear how to improve it as well.

@@williamsealethe error, or not as good, part is in the loop. There's many, many good videos on how to make a proper loop.
Where can I buy the dacron from?
Interesting to know but I honestly fell asleep watching this. Myself Mumbling Dacron lol

Looks like Tuf-line dacron to me. It's the best dacron on the market
Momoi is also very good
This is a good way to learn, but it has some weak points in the splice where it may break.
Easy to do with large line. I cannot for the life of me get the smallest needle in my hollow core ace.
This is dacron. It is easier to splice to spectra. Plus, power pro hollow ace is literal garbage.
We run he top shot up at least 10 yo 14 ft an a serving every 21/2 ft for gains bluefin tuna .
This guy didn't do his loop correctly. You are supposed to thread the tag end back into the mainline. This loop isn't as secure as it could be.

Ehhh not so much.
