How To ACTUALLY Play Ligature Marks by Meshuggah

Here is a quick lesson to the song Ligature Marks by Meshuggah off of their new album Immutable. There seem to be a bit of confusion as to what's going on in the opening bends. I am hoping I can clear some of that up for you guys today.

Hey! As the guy who tabbed the song back in april:
You are obviously right. I think I have kinda been led astray with the opening riff as it had already been tabbed by someone else when the teaser for the album was released, and it was tabbed the "wrong" way (with the 7th and 8th string with the bend only on the 8th), so I just "copied" it without much thinking as I also wanted to tab the songs in a short time and I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt to the original tabber.
It also sounded kinda right to me because as you said, it sounds a lot darker compared to other parts of the album where they play the same palm muted power chord in the same place. I thought about the difficulty in bending the 8th string without bending the 7th but there are also some riffs in the album where the string is bent less than a half step, and it was unclear to me if this was a full half step bend or not.

Hey man, it's funny seeing you here because I've watched your Meshuggah videos and they've been really helpful to me for figuring out the new songs. Especially your Phantoms Breakdown breakdown (lol).
I understand what you're saying, and when you are tabbing stuff out as early as you are, there are bound to be small "errors" like this. I really didn't want to come off as a know it all or a stuck up guitarist who thinks songs should only be played the "proper" way. As long as you are having fun that's a win in my book, but I at the same time care about accuracy in these types of things. Also figuring out bends and notes in general with these low tunings and an even darker tone now isn't easy, so I can understand the struggle there.
