    Are you enjoying these "What would you buy?" videos? They are a good bit more work than our usual stories but we are having fun making them. The next three we have planned are $150k, $75k, and money no object. Thoughts?

      Eh, my 1996 4runner has a big exhaust leak from smashing my trans into the cat too much while doing my clutch. And from rock banging while wheeling. Sounds like a vacuum and hair drier mixed😂

    A manual 4x4 12 valve Cummins with 100k miles can be had for that price. It will pay for itself towing your exotics to the shop all the time.

    I got my 2013 Focus ST for $14,900 with 19k miles. It's relatively practical, good looking and still puts a smile on my face 3 years later

      They had a 426 horsepower LS3 from the factory! They are crazy responsive to mods, too. Throw a set of LT’s on it and get a tune, you are looking at a legit 500-550 rwhp

      Jordan Winders This is laughable. I just sold my MANUAL E46 M3, subframe done, rod bearings done, ZHP steering rack, euro headers, etc for $11,000. For $15,000 you can get a decent manual E46 M3.

    I would go for a 2010-12 Acura TL with a 6MT, SHAWD and a J37 V6. You can find them for around $10k and supercharge it with the rest. Really underrated cars and great daily drivers.
    The 11-14 Mustang GT, 135i, Pontiac G8, and 09-11 STI hatch are also really cool.

      You can find a clean title, less than 50k miles, s2000 for around 15k. Other options:
      -Mustang gt
      -Corvette
      -370z
      -240sx
      But as we all know...Miata is always the answer😎

      ​I'd buy a 2014 Chevy Cruze Manual Diesel, deleted, tuned, weight reduction, lowered, dual turbos. Could push 80-100 MPG out of it, probably run 300-400 FT pounds of torque and the same HP. Never done before, but it would be amazing.

    Props to everyone who mentioned the VW R32. That is a great daily/sports hatch!!! This car never got the credit it deserves. The other one I was surprised I only heard once was a WS6 T/A or SS Camaro. You can find good to great low mileage or good to great mods for less than 15k. Left over money for more mods lol.

    996 911, C4 ZR1 or 96’ w/ LT4, C5 Vette (doesn’t have to be a Z06; i’ve had both C5’s and although there is a difference, it isn’t quite as drastic as most think), C6 Vette, 986 Boxter, 3rd gen MR-S, LS F-body, 335i, CLS63 AMG, E36/46 M3, 370Z, MX-5, LS2 GTO, 04’-07’ CTS-V (has either LS6 or LS2 w/ T56), Cayenne Turbo, XJR/XKR, etc

      Owned an E55, it's a fabulous car. So fast. But if you think you're paying $15k to buy it, then done, you're kidding yourself! Budget at least another $5k for the next year if you're DIYing. $10k if not. I just mean to keep it usable, not restoration.

      Damn those are my exact choices...Love an e55 amg. Just needs to be moderate mileage and strictly cooling mods. Not a fan of slapping on a 72mm upper pulley and calling it a day.

      I wouldn't go for the 944. It looks amazing but aside from that it's really not all that. It drives horribly and has a bad shifter and it lacks any sort of character when it comes to its handling. I would just describe the experience as dry and largely uninspiring. Sure its better than any econobox but there's a reason why its so cheap.

    I actually just got a 2015 Volkswagen Passat VR6 with a DSG transmission well under the 15k limit. It may appear kind of boring but it get going quicker than you'd expect and rides beautifully on the highway.
    Great engine (280hp and VR6 noises).
    Excellent transmission (super fast shifts).
    Killer factory audio (Fender designed).

    I gotta say, I really like the XJ6 out of all of them. There's just a certain level of elegance to the old-school Jaguars, especially when you do something radical like a Safari Conversion (i.e. lift & tires).

    I got an e46 m3 for a couple under 15 a few years ago six speed. Already did vanos and cooling and still well below 15k...now I just need to the subframe done

    I know what I'd buy.. because I did buy it, my current daily. A 4th gen Acura TL SH-AWD! 300hp of torque vectoring AWD reliability! Looks decent (after some minor tweaks), 6mt manual available, and I've seen examples with odometers well over 300,000 miles without any major repairs needed.

      I do agree the N/A I6 in the 128i is good and it definitely reminds me of my E36 M3, but after seeing my E46 M3 get totalled, I bought an Ed Bolian Special 135i with some minor hail damage and mods making 400hp for 14.5k about 13 months ago and it's been the most fun I've ever had in an automobile. Surprisingly, quite reliable so far. Bought it at 47k, sitting at 63k now and I flog the shit out of it.

    I'd have to say that the Cadillac ATS awd 2.0l turbo is the best option for under 15k and I'd get alot of upgrades for it with the leftover money. Luxury an sporty all in one.

      The only Lamborghini in Alaska is a kit car countach which I proudly hot glued the peeling interior panels. Great low car for passing right under those lifted trucks.

    Bought my 2013 Ford Mustang GT premium 5 months ago with track pack option, Brembo brakes Recaro seats, cold air intake and catback exhaust, 93 octane tune, with 80k miles for 15k. Awesome car for the money.

    I swear the b8 S4's are the most overlooked cars ever in this price range. Supercharged v6 that you can make mega powerful, awd, manual if you want, can get as an avant and the interior is super nice. relatively reliable as well reliable

    I have an E46 325ci and I can’t speak highly enough of that era of 3 series. I’d love to own an E46 M3 one day just based on how well mine has treated me. I treat mine very well and it really does treat me well in return.

    For this weeks budget I would pick 2 vehicles a 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP with very low mileage. Or a 2010 Lexus LS 460 L fully loaded with decent mileage.

    BMW 135i convertible. My 2013 was 15k. 300 HP, twin scroll turbo, 7 speed dual clutch. Love it.

    As a car choice: Miata or MR2. As a Bike choice: in the UK, take $15k and say £15k, you could get a 2017 Yamaha YZF-R1. There’s a few on the market for £15k or less, and with such acceleration and speed, can’t go wrong at that price

    I'd buy a 335d with all of the emissions deletes and tunes. 36 mpg on the highway and around 550 lbs- ft.

    I answered this question for myself last year and picked up a beautiful 510 hp kyanite blue 2010 Jaguar XFR. Luxurious daily driver with launch rollercoaster like acceleration!
    I keep thinking I'll mod it because it is capable of much more power - but it is so strong already it is hardly needed. People can't believe it is not brand new when I tell them it's a 2010.

      @@Scottsdaleofficesteve Only about 3k miles so far due to short commute, rotating several vehicles, then Covid-19.
      It's been great, there have been no new issues so far - but I still need to fix a problem I knew about when I bought it. The dial-style gear selector that is supposed to electrically pop up from the center console does not move by itself. I'm still able to select gears, just no cool popup action when starting car. I'll get around to fixing it but Jag wants $1200 for the part. I'm OK paying that if I don't decide to get a used part because I got it for around 14k while similar vehicles were going for around 20k.
      The 2and best feature after the 510 hp is Jaguar's legendary depreciation 😁

      Camaros from that era are though. 426 hp, 6.2L LS3. Crazy responsive to mods, too. Cam, LT’s, CAI and tune will net you at least 100 more rwhp

    Miata plus turbo kit, coilovers, body kit, new seats, wheel, new clutch, new steelies, and a roll cage. Easily still under 15k but you get to do it all yourself and have fun. Rather than a 30 year old amg mercedes thats gonna cost you 15k....EVERY YEAR

    You gotta remember, we only have $15k for this car. if it ends up being something German, we'll be dropping another $15k in it within a year or two to keep it running.
    Personally, I've been looking into getting a 2013 or newer Ford Taurus SHO with the same budget. 360 horsepower, awd, comfortable, and if it's black or white everyone will think you're a cop and get out of your way. Or if you prefer, you can just get a de-com Police Interceptor model and blend in even better.

    Bought my 2006 corvette 3.5 years ago. for 15k. Had headers and full exhaust, 119k miles, and more than a handful of rock chips. It’s now cammed with heads happening this winter and 157k. 08+ with ls3 are now dropping into the mid to high teens

    The fifth gen camaro is super underrated because so many boomers bought them. Yes they are heavy, but you get an ls3, a solid trans, and near perfect 50/50 weight distribution. They handle like a dream with very simple modifications

    Best car for 15k in my opinion is the g37s you have tons of aftermarket support and they’re reliable, decently luxurious, and pretty quick out of the box as is

    Mk5 R32 all the way. I love mine with dsg. The numbers on paper are not impressive and it is relatively slow, but there is just something about it that is such a joy to drive. Thank you Mr.Warren for bringing such an overlooked car to light.

    You cannot beat a Audi S4 B8 for this price range (or an S5), supercharged V6 350bhp, easily mapped to 420+ ($700, or even 480bhp for $2500. v reliable, decent interior for age and family practical.

    2007-2008 TL Type S six speed - 286hp/256lbft, came loaded with every option as standard, and arguably the best looking sedan of the 2000’s. Only wish the back seats folded down

    M235i is one of the most underrated cars of the last 10 years IMO. Definitely overlooked, especially since the M2 came out, and with them rebadging then to the 240i, they’re forgotten about but still absolutely brilliant.

    Just a V6
    1.8 liter for the daily drive gas.
    I finally got my hard top convertible. Its all I need.
    $16,500 / 49,000 miles.
    They stopped making these this year. 2020 is it.
    Incredibly happy with it.

    I agree with Doug Tabbutt the 986 Boxster is an amazing car to take to its limits because they’re almost disposable at this point. Every dollar and bucket of elbow grease you dump in that car it gets ten times more fun on the track.

      ‘06 6M GTOs have gotten a little expensive haven’t they? Haven’t found a low mileage 6M GTO for under 18k in a while. 4-speed autos are easy to find around 10-15k though

    I recently had this choice and went with a BMW i3. They are a hoot to drive and absolutely plummet in value used. I got a 15 fully loaded with 40,000 mikes last year fir $17k. Today the same is worth 15. I got it to fit my family of 4. If I were looking for a fun car in the range I would be looking at a used ND MX-5 or an s2k.

    Parts, Service and maintenance, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW are not you're friend in the parts department affordability wise. But performance wise they are slightly better. But those manufacturers charge you so much for parts and service. I got my 2005 CTS-V1 for 15k with headers and $1,500 corsa exhaust 40k miles. If you're considering one of the following in the video drive a CTSV1 2004 to 2007 you will not regret. I can average 20mpg if I'm a good boy.

    The 300 ZX was the most attractive of all the Z cars. I like a C5, or C6 with plans for a LT5 transplant later on down the road. The BMW M2 is a bit of a kids car, but lots of options and buildable. On the other hand if you just want to be happy with what you have the Boxster was a good choice. A lot of picks went to the M2000. I
