Arnaud Desjardins talks about his experiences with Ma Anandamayi

- Sadly Arnaud Desjardins just passed away on 10th August. He first met Ma Anandamayi in 1959, when at the time he has a film and television producer in France. He has produced several films on spirituality, and the one on Sri Ma, that was shown on French TV, was an eye-opener for many interested in genuine spirituality. He also refers to Swami Prajnanpad, who he met around that time. This talk was given at a retreat at St Privat on 25th May 2011 to devotees of Ma Anandamayi who had assembled there. This video is posted with the kind permission of Arnaud Desjardins.

It is very very difficult for someone not familiar with the Indian ethos to come to terms with the concept of spirituality. But credit to this gentleman Arnaud that he came so close to understanding all this.

Thank you for this. Do you have any of the videos that Arnaud made where he spoke English? I don't know why he didn't speak English here. He spoke English so well. How did you get permission from his ashram to post this? I would like to post some of his teachings of the path according to Anuad's teacher Swami Prajnanpad. We will miss Arnaud and all his wisdom and I'm glad we have videos like this to remember him.
Darshan is great! But it doesn't do us much good, unless we are given a way - Viveka - of recognizing that we *are* darshan or pure awareness, immediately within us and free from jiva-Isvara-sristi or the body-mind-world-projection. The truth-knowledge that we are real and that experience as a whole is only mithya or "apparent" *must* be practiced *constantly* in order to break the back of ignorance or jiva-isvara sristi, and one day we will become as Ma, Ramana, Nisargadatta etc. etc. We could never be anything else in reality.
