    Hi there, where should i look during reverse parking? I thought it was just side mirrors and rear, but had an instructor saying i needed to check blind spots 3-5 times in the procedure, which doesnt let me park properly because i cant focus on aligning the car

  • @dduncan2129
    @dduncan2129 2 года назад +3

    Hi!!
    Can you adjust side mirrors before attempting a reverse park in the PDA?
    In order to see the park lines properly

    • @DrivingSchoolWA
      @DrivingSchoolWA  2 года назад +1

      It's best to have them possitioned properly all the time. That way you should see the lines

      Yeah, it happens a lot, especially in quiet carparks. Carparks are private property, so not even cops can do much about it. Thanks for watching!

    Hi, I just wanted to make sure that during a PDA when it comes to parking, will they fail you or take marks off if your car is not in the centre of the parking? What if ur abit towards the left/right but still in the bay is that okay? Thank you!

    • @DrivingSchoolWA
      @DrivingSchoolWA  2 года назад +3

      Hi Marie, it will depend on the degree of the error whether or not they take points off. We always suggest checking after you park by opening your door if you are unsure how well you aligned your vehicle. Don't hesitate to correct if necessary according to your judgement. The majority of assessors will not penalise you. If you look at parked cars around you in any carpark, not many of them are aligned perfectly. Do your best!

      @@DrivingSchoolWA Thanks for replying and I've noted what you've stated above! I just had another question, when It comes to left something behind exercise and there was chance of me of using a intersection to go back to the house but I didn't and decided to use a drive way instead is that okay ? Thank you again for replying and keep up with your videos!

      @@marieal-sayad4701 You are most welcome. RE Exercise Left Something Behind, try to take the first available opportunity, but if you miss the intersection don't go too far before you turn around. With any reasonable assessor, the worst-case scenario would be loss of points for the flow

    Are you allow to angle your car about 45 degree to other side of road when traffic is clear , and reverse back to parking bay or not ?

  • @desk4563
    @desk4563 2 года назад

    4:32 I notice in that example the car reversing has cut the line and got very close. I was always taught to not cut the line when reversing at all costs, because they will fail or mark you down because of cutting the lines.
    Is this true and if there are no cars in the parking bays beside the ones you chose is it ok to cut lines?

    • @DrivingSchoolWA
      @DrivingSchoolWA  2 года назад +2

      You have to cut the line to park without deviating too much. None of the assessors will take points for that

  • @maddisonfarmer6345
    @maddisonfarmer6345 2 года назад +1

    Can you use the 45 degree method for the PDA, i find it a lot faster and more efficient and easier to line the bay up. Also with the 45 parking right hand side should I mirror check/ head check indicate right for the bay then indicate left to swing out on the 45 a angle or just indicate left ? Thanks

      Rules in Western Australia since October 2017 are following: Indicate left before you position your car to reverse, then switch of the indicator and proceed reversing

    Are you actualy allowed to drive forward by the whole lenght of the car to make the correction without losing points?

    • @DrivingSchoolWA
      @DrivingSchoolWA  2 года назад +1

      Yes, if you don't interfere with any traffic it's fine. By the way, it's easier for learner drivers doing the test because if they steer while going backwards it's higher possibility they will end up on an angle again. So the best advice is, make corrections forward and drive straight back in without delay. 99 percent of assessors will not even take points for it. Thank you for watching

  • @elaine428

    Hi! Do I have to use this specific method for the test? Because I've also been taught to turn 45 degrees before reversing and then reversing in that way, without having to reverse over several bays, but it does block the other side of the road too, even if for a few seconds. It's a much, much easier way, but is this method of reverse parking allowed for the test?
