Barn Find Big Red Gets A CUSTOM Exhaust!

- After picking up this barn find of a 1985 Honda Big Red, I immediately went through it top to bottom changing fluid and diagnosing all of the issues that needed fixed. Unfortunately the factory muffler was rotted and in my opinion beyond repair, especially for a machine that I want to use often.
So after searching for a replacement factory exhaust and coming up empty handed, I thought all hope was lost. But by the grace of God Mr. Eric Hanzel reached out and told me about his custom stainless muffler that he designed for the 250ES.
Well I have good news, we got one and in today's video we are going to be installing it.
UPDATE 5/1/22 - It looks like he is no longer offering them or taking a break due to the outpour of requests. I will update this again if I hear anything or he puts them back up on his eBay page.

I bought this exact one from the same guy about 4 months ago on eBay. Haven’t heard it yet since I’m doing a full frame off build. Sounds great though. Glad I bought one

I have an 86 250es that starts and runs and drives perfectly for something that old. My lifelong hunting buddy passed away in January of 22 and left it to me. I've known the Trike since it was bought new all those years ago. It has been in our group of hunters all of its life. It spent the last 15 years on our trailer just in case we needed it to drag a deer out or a ride to the levee to get help if we got stuck back in the bush. We started it up a couple of times each year before the season opened then pulled it out to our hunting area and chained it to a tree just in case we needed it. It suffered from lack of use if anything. People say they are not safe, but like everything else in this world it is as safe as the driver wishes it to be. It needs an after-market fuel tank, and it will have another 30 years left in it I betcha. The old one could be fixed by the right welder though. That ain't me however. I use a plastic water bottle to test drive around the yard right now. Peace to you and yours and thanks for the videos. They are all helpful in some way or the other.

As a welder and fabricator for my entire adult life ( performance cars and motorcycle parts ) I can say that exhaust is beautiful and matches the stock appearance very well.

Love the big red videos, my first time on any off-road machine was one of these they are a lot of fun. Wasn’t mine tho thinking of getting one if I find one for a good price.

Should have helped the carburation with a little more back pressure considering the old one showed it was more free flowing. 😁

Did you get your toes with the pressure washer at all? lol that part made me remember doing it as a kid when I was helping my grandpa with houses. This things looking good that mufflers is badass he did a great job.

Cobra made a aftermarket exhaust for these back in the day but from what I heard it was kinda loud so you probably wouldn’t of liked it

You’re missing two knobs under the seat called fender knobs when you takeoff your seat you will see there’s two holes on your rack to knobs are supposed to go down in there to hold the fenders down

Very nice Fart Pipe. I'm curious how it rides with those tires. Looks like it should do well.
Mine has similar tires. With 2.5 PSI in the back and 3 PSI in the front tires it rides like a Cadillac.
Rides pretty good! Horrible turning on pavement though.

Those Crocs are Osha Safety Standard ?
Maybe you know this but originally there is a foam “pre filter” type thing that goes over that metal air filter to keep any real fine dust out. If you do a lot of dusty area riding may be worth getting one but I know many many who don’t and have never had an issue regardless
