Will It Run Honda 3 wheeler, Big Red 200es Edition Best one yet, HELP! ATC Repair
1984 Honda ATC 200es Big Red Edition
In this episode I drag home another broken relic from my childhood. Each video in this series breaks down another step in the process of rebuilding and maintaining your Honda ATC 3 wheeler. Think of this series as a "How to" or an online shop manual for easy, quick repairs for your 3 wheeler. I pick up where the dealer has left off. Many of these tips will apply across the model lines of most ATC 3 wheeler from the 70, 90, 185, 200 and even the 250 four strokes and 350x. I focus on the major repairs that are most common to ATC owners. I show you how I make the repairs and hopefully you will save some money for yourself and be able to get back on the trail enjoying your ATC.

Thank you for this! I actually just watched this video while on my way to look at a non-running 1984 ATC 200ES. This video gave me the confidence to buy it (cheap)! Currently tearing it down and going through everything. I am certain it will ride again!
I've watched several other videos of yours as well and enjoyed them all. Keep up the great work!

You sure know how to with the old school atv's your videos are great! And I crazy about the old school atv's you said something about a big red with 200x front forks ! I have a Honda 250sx with 200x front forks with the tall skinny front tire. Man it's a bad boy! Can't keep the front end to the ground and I put stuff saver tires on the back and beefed up the rear end shock! It's like a raceing bike ready for the track! And I'm loving it!

Great video! I just came across your channel and I’m really enjoying your content. I have an 84 200es that is almost done being turned into a rider. I put the project on hold for the past few months and now I am getting nothing when I press the e start button. It worked fine 3 months ago. Bike runs great when I jump the battery or pull start it. Electronics are definitely my weak area and I’m stumped. Headlight works, reverse and neutral lights do not (they used to work fine) could be related. I’m hoping it’s something simple being a complete bike and that function used to work fine. If you have any ideas, I’d love to hear it!

there are 2 fuses back by the battery, check them, all the main connection happen inside the headlight housing, look in there for an unplugged wire. the dash lights especially. the no start, make sure you are sending ground from the button to the solenoid. Thanks for watching

That's great, put 12 volts directly to the starter . Verify it works and then trace your wiring backwards to the starter solenoid, then to relay and button. Good luck, let us know how it turen out. Also you can take the starter apart clean, grease if it doesn't turn with 12 volts

I picked up a 200es, my first 3 wheeler. I have a question about the exhaust that may seem dumb. But i’m new at this.
Where does the exhaust seal go? I looked in the service manual and it doesn’t show if it goes over the header pipe or the exhaust pipe.
Meaning, does it get sandwiched between the header and exhaust pipe, or does it go between the exhaust pipe and clamp?
    Thanks

Could be a few place. Get the machine clean then warm it up and watch for a leak. Start at the top like exhaust valve inspection cover it has an oring, the head could be loose or a blown head gasket or the exhaust donut gasket is broken and leaking unburned fuel mixed with oil residue.

Hi Ashton, best option is to find a 200m front end, and swap the whole thing over. A 84 atc200 [ no letter] would also work. Both have a 9 inch wheel, and a more modern shocks. You can swap a 185s and 200s with shock suspension, the trade off is a 8 in front rim with a different bolt pattern. I have not tried it but I have been told a 200x front will also swap. That would get you a skinny front tire and disc brakes. Thanks for watching and subscribing .
