I've been running front+rear dashcams for years now. Would never dream of not having one. Mine's only 1080p but that's fine. I would strongly suggest wiring it up so it's always receiving 12V power, however. Most dashcams can sense if the vehicle gets hit while it's parked and they'll start recording immediately if that happens. If it's only active when the ignition is on I'm not sure if your camera will do that for you.
As a truck driver, I have run a dash cam for about the last 8 Or 9 years and if you talk to any truck driver, you're stupid if you don't run a dash cam. My dash cam is in a 10 inch garment GPS and I love it.
Always great videos Matt. I have the same dash cam in my Gladiator, great camera for the cost. Did you eventually hook it with the optional 12V hardwire kit? If so, what fuse or where did you pick up the constant power for when the vehicle is not running? I have only been able to get fuse #53 or #52 for power, however I use that fuse and fuse jumper for my AuxBeam power.
Love your videos!!! Was wondering if you could do a video on all your camera gear. 😊 I love the footage you get. Would be very interested in this. Thank you for sharing all your adventures!!!
I did this one back in December. It's changed a little bit with another Sony Camera - ZV-E1 and a new Drone - DJI mavic 3 pro. ruclips.net/video/36bsUoFPaNw/видео.html
I don't have this particular camera, but have been running a front/rear camera for several years. Not only is it great for recording your surroundings, possible accident evidence, etc., I use it as a backup camera to make hitching up my trailer easy since my truck is old school simple. My only issue with this one is that the rear camera doesn't seem to be waterproof and I need to mount it outside the cab.
Hi Matt, I really enjoy your videos. Your recommendation of some products has made me choose the same. My question is; how do you keep your Gladiator secure and safe? Do you have a video on preventing theft? My Gladiator was stolen 2 weeks ago. There are several videos out there, I’m curious about your recommendation.
Great video and I am actually thinking about getting one of these. Just wondering if I connect the dashcam to my car's battery for the g-sensoring (parking guarding mode), will it wear out the battery faster?
If you ever decide to upgrade A810 is amazing Video Quality but a cpl lens never hurts either! You can used old smartphone with an App and that can be OK but no parking mode For parking mode use OBD kit far easier to use than a Fuse or worse Hardwire Kit!, Just Ensure Dashcam is set to 12.4V or 12v but less too ensures that battery is never flat!
I guess if someone breaks in and steals the camera the footage is gone. I guess since it would require a connection to the internet cloud storage is not an option?
Honestly, they reached out and asked if I would test it. After comparing specs to others the image quality and features looked really good with that sony sensor so I gave it a shot.
You can choose it in 'settings' , if you want the screen to turn off automatic or if you want screen ON non-stop. And yes , it records while the screen is turned off.
The quality looks great!thanks Matt!

Thank you sir. Appreciate your insight!
Thanks for the video Matt I’ve been on the fence for awhile now but you just helped me make up my mind. Thank you.

I’ve never had an issue with theft. It’s not something I worry about.

Is the display on all the time or can the display turnoff after say a minute like a screen saver?
Running an older Garmin dash cam. Invaluable peace of mind. But looking for a system for front and rear. This looks to be a viable option for me.

Choose always 60fps @1080p instead of 4K..

Can the camera be removed after each drive if I don’t want to leave it in the car in the sun?
I like the 2A magnet. Who makes it?
Hey there whats the wrap you have on the hood? it looks textured and 3d, very nice
It’s from stickyvinylz.com
I've been looking at dash cams. What made you decide on this particular one over all the others on the market?

Can you tell me the length of the cable supplied for the rear dash cam? Nobody seems to note it anywhere. I have a very long Lincoln Navigator "L".
Sorry, no clue.
Awesome
Is the Wifi support 5Ghz
Does it record with screen off while driving?
You can choose it in 'settings' , if you want the screen to turn off automatic or if you want screen ON non-stop.

Do you think this is better than omni?
Never tried that one.
U still running this dash cam .?
Yes I am. Working great.
Does this interfere with the subaru eyesight?
I don't know. I don't have a subaru.
Of course its worth it, when a road pirate pulls you over, you have proof of their lies!
so can you set the camera to start recording the second you turn on your car and stop recording when you turn off your car?
