Supermarket bouquets are the best for getting variety In limited quantities. I find that 2 bouquets have always worked for an arrangement I need to make.
Most of my arrangements are from supermarket flowers. I'm lucky living in a large city because the flowers are always fresh. Always good to add greens from the garden.
The range can be really good, and as you say they are turned over fast enough to be fresh. Sometimes they are not far off the wholesale flower prices. 🌼
M mr. McDonald of what several of your videos and I find you very creative I like the way you use Greenery variations I've always liked a mixed and I love doing a large work I'm not too fond of the small stuff but it's important to but thank you for sharing your videos your work your design I think you're very very very talented
For those on a limited budget this is a great idea. Transforming the bouquet into a more attractive arrangement where we can add personal touches like adding hand made picks? We could use unusual/ different containers to make it even more special.
J * thank you for commenting. Somethings the range is quite good in one bouquet alone and to buy separately would of been more expensive. The only thing is that bouquets tend to have short stems....
Learn a lot from you..tq You are a great designer ,the way you create the arrangement is fantastic..so alive ..so adorable . Thank God i met you here Good luck Joo...
What a beautiful work. Tomorrow it is Mother's Day, I'll try to make something like that. thank you so much. You are a great professional.Greetings from Portugal.
I love the basket of flowers. Most of the time I do acquire my flowers from the supermarket and at other times online depending on the event. Thank you for sharing.
Cheryl Centenio thank you - I now think of my supermarket as a limited range wholesaler as they sell flowers at cost really. So use there for flowers for demonstrations and flower club work.
What a great idea for those of us who don't have access to a flower wholesaler. I can easily see getting a couple of chunky bouquets from the farmer's market near my house this spring and doing what you just did with some floral foam, a nice vase or two, some ribbons, and some extra greenery. You give me such inspiration and so many good ideas. Very grateful. ;0)
I do have a basket just like that one: it looks like the very same basket. Oh...I am going to use that . Thank you for sharing your marvellous ideas. greetings from Portugal.
Stunning 💐💐💐💖💖💖.. I laughed out loud with the "what am I gonna do with this" statement haha.. indeed they were nice flowers but not much of an arrangement, and this is just such a great tutorial to show you how to make a proper arrangement out of a "bouquet" of miscellaneous stems 🙌🙌🙌
Wow, nobody can tell that this was made from grocery store flowers. Of course quality is not the same. As we all know a lot of people give flowers from supermarkets due to budget or time limit. I’m grateful to the person who challenged you, and to you, because you passed the test with flying colors by showing us that anybody can do it. This is a sign of a true florist who can make things beautiful, no matter what’s is thrown at them. Thank you so much. Three thumbs up from me.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for thank you! Have you written a book..... I would definitely purchase one as it’s always nice to be able to reference it when working on an arrangement and to browse before deciding which one to do. What a great tutor you are 🙃
Hello! We used fleurametz for a lot of our sundries as you could just order online along with your fresh flowers delivery rather than going to a wholesaler to find they didn’t really have what was needed. But our other main supplier was Van Vliet , so also worth a look. If you buy online then check out the sundries section - it’s amazing the range nowadays 😀
nothing if you are in the trade then your local wholesalers or if not then I would make friends with your local florist who will be able to source you anything. If you have a garden then you can maybe find some foliage there - or raid a friends garden.
How do you prevent gerbera daises from flopping over? I've used straws and sometimes wire for more stability. Am I not inserting them deep enough into the foam to get water?
Gerbera are really sensitive to damage - so the best advice is start with good strong gerbera, then don’t wire or add anything , unless absolutely needed. If they have a really good drink before you use them they should be strong 💪
It was soaked just before - it only takes 30 seconds to soak. Jus5 drop onto the surface of water and let it sink down on its own - then it’s fully soaked 😀🙋🏼♂️🌼
Of course - there was a lot of different flowers there! Chrysanthemum blooms Roses Gerbera Calla lilies Trachelium - the mop head style greenery / flower Thiphalis - the fluffy stems Hypericum berries Pistache foliage Eucalyptus greenery Skimmia Hope that helps 😀🌼
Pita Ontiveros this wasn’t for resale - it is just to show what can be created with a premade bunch of flowers - so maybe you could make one for a gift or make one for yourself if someone has given you flowers!
Viola...a 25 dollar grocery bunch into a 100 dollar bouquet...or a 1000 time nicer one than 1800flowers...which arrive moldy smashed and unput togther and not st sll like the picture... What ever u do do not use 1800flower type service ...EVER.
But.... you added your own foliage as well.... Its a shame really because I want to believe this is a good idea but in reality you need extra foliages... eucalyptus cinerea is difficult to come by if you cant get to a flower market.
woollen hat yes, that is true. For me it’s the foliage that is missing and can allow you to make this bouquet ‘your’ style. For flowers though it gives you a set all in one go.
Here in Seattle many of the grocery store flower stalls sell small bundles of greenery for $3 to $4 dollars. I bought some really nice, fresh eucalyptus at QFC for $4 a couple of days ago -- perfect for mixing with three roses (sold by the stem) and a mixed bouquet of less expensive but still pretty flowers. If you have a friend with a big yard, they might have some greenery you can trim. My neighborhood also has "abandoned" areas where no one would mind me clipping a few baby stalks of bamboo or some fir fronds. I'm thinking of packing some secateurs and plastic bags with me when I go for walks, to forage for free-range greenery.
can you take the pleasure out of floral arranging because it's not a spiritual experience for you clearly it's all about the bottom line which is productivity and money I wish you weren't arranging for your life every time you made some thing Something to think about
Yes this is a good video because I don't know how ppl that are not florist would get the flowers you use. Thanks so much.
Thank you! 😀🌼
How beautiful arrangement. ❤❤
Thank you 😊 🌼
John, I don't think any arrangement is a challenge for you. You are amazing with every arrangement you do.
Thank you!

I heard - was it good? 😀
@@FlowerJoos Just a few clips shown but knew straight away it was you.

Nice, but need foliage. Where did you buy your foliage? Where can one buy foliage, foam and basket ftom in England?

You are sending people away from your own business
Christine Stewart that’s not the plan, but supermarket flowers are out there, so maybe they can be turned to advantage?
