      Definitely learned a few things ref the lures and teaser flies. Will be trying some of these combos on the Lough this year, come 1st March.

      @@kevm7751 the sg spratts fish well ive had a few fish on the blue one aswell as the slim jig minnow, the loughs a funny place, a lure that nails them outside sometimes wont get a sniff in the lough and vice versa, i think match the hatch so to speak is the key in the lough and find the fish 2 im sure youve found how much they move about the place, one night they can be bouncing and the next there gone lol!

    Great stuff 👍
    Do you think bead colour at hook end matters?
    I wouldn't use anything bright coloured but was thinking a small glow bead might help or at least not be a deterrent , it's basically all savage gear isp is.

    • @whitetroutchannel
      @whitetroutchannel  Год назад +1

      mate believe it or not i put a wee bit of time in with changing beads on the line thru lures, i like the little day glow beads whens its dull day or well into the evening, ive also found the little pale orange beads dont seem to put them off and ive a tendency to use the pink and red beads during the cold part of the season early on, i think the bead choice can deff be seen by the trout and if they see it you can be sure it will affect the fishing, recently ive just been using the single clear solid bead i usually fish it with the coloured one but i got a notion in my head 2 beads where gettin seen, maybe too much thinking time mate lol

      @@whitetroutchannel thank you, I saw other video also and found out lure was open and moving in line, why no idea, just cover this in your video also. Line what happen if keep lure moving in line and what if we do not allows lure to move. Thanks

      @@ZakiMuhammad1 sorry for the late reply, the concept to inline or line thru lures is two fold, first when you stop retrieving this allows to rotate on the line rather like an axis, this fluttering falling motion is highly appealing to trout, secondly once a fish is hooked on this system it cannot use the weight of the lure as leverage to free itself from the hook hold, which can be a reason for a lot of lost fish once hooked, i hope this explains a little of the idea behind these lures, thank you for watching and commenting

      thanks tony!! ive been fighting the urge but ill hangfire until the 1st! i use a small barrel swivel with approx 30cm leader between it and the hook, if you cut the line up at the swivel when changing lures its a little less hassle, you just slip off the lure then rather than hooks and beads but ill admit mate they are kinda annoying for changing lures!! thanks for watching mate 👍👍👍

    Really enjoying your films. Quick question. How big do you think sea trout grow in Strangford? I,ve heard stories of very big fish caught by netsmen over the years.

    • @whitetroutchannel
      @whitetroutchannel  2 года назад

      thanks gav!! ive personally seen fish jumping that where easily 15lb in the lough and like yourself ive heard the stories of the old fellas netting back in the day, i think these big fish are migrators thou and not resident fish, theres a tagging programme at the minute inside the lough and some fish have been recorded in the lough and migrated as far south as the boyne river and vice versa, thanks for the view mate and kind words 👍👍

    Nice video mate 👍😃 I can see that our lures are missing in your tacklebox😉🎣 I can see that shipping costs with GLS are crazy from Denmark to Ireland, do know if there is another shipping company thats is cheaper?

      thanks mate 👍 i have to admit that my tacklebox would look a lot more healthier with a tightline lure section it!! anytime ive had anything from scandanavian direction its usually from ROYAL MAIL as northern ireland is part of the UK, dont worry my friend i know its beyond expensive the shipping, the fact you subbed to my channel is reward enough for me 😊👍👍👍👍

    • @whitetroutchannel
      @whitetroutchannel  Год назад +1

      i think most of mine are a size 4 vmc hooks but if your using bigger lures like the sg sandeels or the abu mo a size 2 is needed to cover it, i changed most of my lures to inline singles now, i dont know if it improves hook up but its certainly easier releasing fish with a single, thanks for watching as always mate and drop me a message anytime 👍
