That particular 928 has the 4.7 liter V8 which put out around 235 hp or so. I forget the exact number. The 1985 euro models had 288 and you didn’t see 300+ hp until the S4 in 1987. That was a ton of power for the era. That car should definitely have a timing belt cover and judging by the looks of it should have been replaced a while ago. The mechanical odos often broke so this car while possible, likely has more than 40k miles. This car could be restored but being a lesser desirable 2 gen auto car you would be upside down before the paintwork began. The parts however are very valuable. those 17’ wheels are from a modern Boxster or Carrera. The 928 had the longest timing belt of any car when it was introduced at 7ft. It also had the first movable dash pod. The car was way ahead of its time when it was built and was Porsche’s first “clean sheet” design from the ground up. The best 928 forum is on Rennlist and covers every aspect of maintaining the cars. There are also several knowledgeable folks who chime in during BAT auctions if your looking for more info. I have had two and currently have a 90S4 in the garage.
Did anyone else see that loader drive by randy in the background while he was by that Monte Carlo? It was banging the hell out of that suv it was transporting. Lol. I couldn’t imagine the damage that they do to the under carriages of the cars out there lol
Hey Randy, I just saw your Copart walk around this morning. You do a fantastic job on every Copart walk around and everything you do. I love everything you do when I watch it every single day as much as I can just keep the contact coming on your RUclips channel cause I watch them every single day and I know you will so, but anyhow, I hope you have a great day and tell Jessica and Nick I said hi. I’ll talk to you again soon. Have a good day.
Awesome video Randy thanks for sharing. I love that color on that Porsche and yellow is my favorite color. Didn't they have 928 S in the 80s movie Weird Science it was with Anthony Michael Hall and Bill Paxton and Robert Downey Jr. I remember Wyatt drove the 928 S but it was a different color. Keep up the great content and also happy holidays to you and your family.
Good morning Randy. The Porche is a decent looking car even though it's got damage all around it. The Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a decent looking car even though it's got frame damage on the front end.
What a shame the Porsche 928 was allowed to deteriorate and then involved in a collision. I understand the 928 received a lot of hand assembly during their build at the Porsche factory.
Thats not a collision its not one hit it looks like someone backed into it a few times the hits are to separate to be all at once be it maybe it was hit overt he years but id guess it was intentional the hits are all to odd
That one light you weren't sure of on that 2500, the lightening bolt looking one, is for the electric throttle control. Vehicle is still drivable with that light on, however, I wouldn't drive it with the brake and ABS lights on.
That poor 928…I had the use of my Grandfather’s new 87 928S4 back in Highschool…was an awesome driving machine and super comfortable. I believe that Yellow is called Talbot Yellow and is kinda rare.
Randy on that Monte Carlo you gotta keep the good headlight and corner light as well as the taillights and trunk. You NEVER know lol might come in handy
When you were lookn at that monte carlo that loader that passed was just letting that yukon hit the ground I heard you sigh there just adding more damage to it
Hi randy I remember the Porsche my dad used to have when I was a kid he bought it brand new it was a red with a bage interior it was really nice he was drunk and he was going fast around a corner and flipped it I loved that car you’re huge fan Sean from Kingston Oklahoma
Hey Randy......on the Cummins.......there is definitely suspension damage to the right front.......but there is a good possibility that the frame is tweaked...I've seen it more than a few times when I worked at the body shop.....but then again you could replace the lower and upper control arms and it could be ok....... enjoy the videos......keep them coming.......😁
The timing belt is 82½ inches long! 😮! Whoa, that's one of the longest timing belts in automotive history....... Geez😳😲😵💫duh, no thanks on changing that thing🙃😅🤣
I'm 62 years old and I have had guns since I was about 12 years old. I can't believe that there are people that are so paranoid that they would tell you not to touch shells that are in a vehicle, especially if they haven't been fired... Do these people go to a restaurant and not use utensils just in case the dishwasher or waiter go off the rails and stab someone ?
After you stealing that sneakers bar I had to comment. I forgot to comment on the black truck video but I believe you found Nicks vehicle. keep up the great job sir
Randy.. if i where you i would edit the part where the copart driver drives behind the monte carlo. Just as a precaution. You dont want them taking it a bad way.
@@carlbernard4197 yeah, you change oil every like 7-10K in these engines, fuel filter every like 50-100k and they will last up to a million miles that’s crazy.
It’s not a money pit. It’s not realistic to fix. Any decently intelligent car guy would know that any Porsche with this much body damage is total loss parts car
If you watch Carwizard u prob stay away from the 928, MONEYPIT... Expensive to fix and not worth that much even running and driving. I like them though! Wouldn´t mind a 928 S4. 🥰😍🤩
@@thomaslibonati Yes... At the moment it is prepared to respray (rear fenders are little bit rolled, to fit 911 turbo wheels r18/11J), front fenders and doors are swaped. The entire body is brushed and covered with an anti-corrosion coating. Over the winter I would like to check and renew all mechanical systems.
Now is definitely NOT the time to be buying a car. Average car cost $47K?! That's insane! Check your ego at the door - you need a vehicle to get back and forth to work, not to impress anyone. An auto finance rate of 7%+ is an insult to anyone with excellent credit. No thanks. Those new cars can sit on the lot and rot away for all I care.
Under the guidance of Samuel Peter Descovich, a respected financial advisor specializing in financial planning, I effortlessly purchased my car. He aids me in strategizing to meet my goals and requirements. You can explore more about him by conducting an online search, where you'll find his webpage and additional details.
Found his website easily. It was like the first thing that came up when I searched his name. I'll surely touch basis with him to see what the best step is for me to take right now. THANK YOU!!!
Auto rate of 7% should be normal, because if the FED didn't keep rates artificially low. However, PRICES should insult you, these dealers are screwing their future for a gain in the short term.
nope cant save it but can use it for parts car because u can not bring it to the super shape ever from that level. it will coast u more than new clean version.
That's unfortunate about that 928S. What a nice car except for the damage. Hard pass sorry. Fun feature - it has a 160 mph speedometers when other cars of this era were running 85 mph units. Who owned that black truck? Yosemite Sam or Ted Nugent? There's enough shotgun shells to start a war. Perhaps the message presented by that truck is "praise the Lord and pass the ammunition..."

42k miles. Before the odometer gear broke and then it stopped working. Common problem with the 928s. Never factory turbos in the 928.
What a shame the Porsche 928 was allowed to deteriorate and then involved in a collision. I understand the 928 received a lot of hand assembly during their build at the Porsche factory.

Tom cruise’s “risky business” 928 Porsche! but..in yellow 😅
Congrats Randy for that amazing collection, really love the Silverado and the cavalier, looking forward to see the monte carlo build.
Randy on that Monte Carlo you gotta keep the good headlight and corner light as well as the taillights and trunk. You NEVER know lol might come in handy
Facts
Not glow plugs on that Cummins . Is a intake grid heater system that heats the intake up to ease starting of the engine. 😊
Hey Randy, that's a ETC(electronic throttle control) light on the Cummins.
Give me some bondo, a hammer, crow bar, and plunger and I can get busy on that 928. I’ll have it lookin mint in no time.
The red lightning bolt on dodge is a sign to let you know you need to replace your throttle body. It’s a common issue on mopar vehicles
Lightning bolt is the electronic throttle control light. Could be bad battery connections, bad MAF or MAP or possibly dirty air filter.
Love the videos with trucks in them some of my favorite ones in this one that Silverado is a stunner would love to have one just like it
When you were lookn at that monte carlo that loader that passed was just letting that yukon hit the ground I heard you sigh there just adding more damage to it
The 928 S4 was my favorite!
That Tahoe looked to be too heavy for that loader.
I bought a 1999 Porsche boxster with 67k original miles last month from copart, no body damage at all, drives great, stole it for what i paid.
Awesome
Awesome
Glad no one didn’t leave the whole shotgun firearm behind the rear seat in that Silverado, but, overall, nice Chevy lifter truck Randy!🤔😂
Yes that could go sideways real quick if the 12 Guage would have been still in there. 😮😮😮😮😊
I’m fairly positive the weird charging light on the dash of the ram is something to do with the electrical/charging system
Hi randy I remember the Porsche my dad used to have when I was a kid he bought it brand new it was a red with a bage interior it was really nice he was drunk and he was going fast around a corner and flipped it I loved that car you’re huge fan Sean from Kingston Oklahoma
The g body Monty . I could be wrong but the front clips could be interpreted thru different years . Straighten frame drag car

I remember having 928S wall poster when I was in HS. I loved it because of it having a V8.
The red lighting bolt on those dodge trucks means something related to the throttle body
The timing belt is 82½ inches long! 😮! Whoa, that's one of the longest timing belts in automotive history....... Geez😳😲😵💫duh, no thanks on changing that thing🙃😅🤣
I'll pass too. Very delicate situation that you definitely do not want to get wrong 😮😮😊

Another day another coparty, thanks for the dedication Randy.
The lightning bolt symbol on a dashboard typically indicates a problem with the electronic throttle control system
0:45 Those headlights are probably pop-up style, if you can get the dents out so they'll work again. :D
After you stealing that sneakers bar I had to comment. I forgot to comment on the black truck video but I believe you found Nicks vehicle. keep up the great job sir
Ah yes Copart! Love when you walk! Keep it up randy!!!!
Love your videos… get that grand national going and Monte Carlo.. love fox body mustangs big fan,,, mike from Toronto Canada
I like that mega cab
Love the Dodge Cummins 2500 Randy 😎😎👍👍
That Mega cab looks like hub assembly is bad and lower control arm! Also the wheel speed sensor is cut off.
Good Morning There My Good Little Bro Randy Lee Shear Of Auto Auction Rebuilds
I’ve always LOVED the 928. They were so quirky and different and fun. I’d buy it lol
Randy.. if i where you i would edit the part where the copart driver drives behind the monte carlo. Just as a precaution. You dont want them taking it a bad way.
That poor mega cab was 20k over the oil change the owner didn’t seem to care about it to much
It’s a Cummins… it doesn’t care😂
Yes that is sad. Still fired right up though. Is a testament to how well built those engines are. 😊

@@carlbernard4197 oh no I definitely agree just sad that it hadn’t had an oil change for 20k good ol truck I’d definitely drive it
Can you Please look up the price on black gmc truck and others?? Like prices ? If they are for sale yet?? We love when you do black cherry!!!!!👏👏👏👍👍👍
That chevy sulverado was a sexy beast. Wonder why it was there
When I first saw the Dodge, I thought perfect for MWM. But then I realized he likes trucks with half a million miles, not 370 thousand.
Lighting bolt mean something is wrong with the throttle body
Looks like a hub assembly on the Ram
Underrated car
928 It's not a turbo but with a special bosh injection system
Lightn bolt is on for the apps sensor
Hi Randy’s love the videos I have an 81 928
What about any trans-connect vans?
I like your shop videos.
Did that "Porsh" have "Pirilly" tires?
Cummins don't have glow plugs they have a grid heater not a bad truck
Run. It will be an absolute money pit.
Facts run faster than you ever done before Randy
It’s not a money pit. It’s not realistic to fix. Any decently intelligent car guy would know that any Porsche with this much body damage is total loss parts car
I would like to see you start the porsche i really would
Good morning Randy
The lightning bolt is an electronic throttle system issue.
Nice Porsche Randy buy it dude
"the chicken was still warm and my dad was still alive"
Looks like a forklift had its day with the 928
No way on the Porsche 928. Non turbo, you would dump more money in that than you could ever recover. Other that that nice Tom Cruze car!
Good video 🥰
I don't like the grill or headlights on that Monte Carlo, and I love the first and second gen MC. I wouold switch that whole front with an older one.
I think that Dodge had a bit of a Dukes Of Hazzard moment or a whole lot of neglect.
that monte carlo has a newer style small block, its a vortec engine!
19:13 that’s a transmission light
Looks like the cops used a pit maneuver on it
That was scarface car ..was a cool car in the 80s .
I'm thinking that 928 played some ping pong with a guardrail after that bad, non-original color re-paint. Such a shame.
The Porsche S models are usually turbo
Stop being dumb
No! The 1983 Porsche 928 was not turbocharged. However Later on they did turbocharge the larger 5.0 V8 in the 928S4.
Wow the very first 928
That is an Porsche 928 and those are going up in value I've seen them now start selling for around 30k
If you watch Carwizard u prob stay away from the 928, MONEYPIT... Expensive to fix and not worth that much even running and driving. I like them though! Wouldn´t mind a 928 S4. 🥰😍🤩
I'd try but I don't know about the colour it's still might be good for parts 🤔
The 928 has a NA 4.5 liter v-8.
Wrong. Stop commenting on crap you know nothing about. It’s a 4.7
Nice chevy
When was the last time you saw a 928 drive by? Over engineering some wanted more engineering
I would buy that Cavalier if it was the 3.1.
fault in the electronic throttle control system in truck
Do the ls400
If it were manual, it would be worth some money! But, its automatic and these messed up 928 automatics are a dime a dozen.
Whoa love the yellow on the 928 S usually they have boring colours on them
Bummer about the Porsche. That poor Monte 😢 Chevy good truck. Like the dodge
❤😂😢😮😊 Randy it’s a 80, 92 8,32 valve Porsche it’s a very good car and it was in the movie risky business with Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise I meant
I hope that Porsche gets saved!
Now It is in Lithuania, the engine are serviced and started body works.
@@aurimasralys6253 did you buy it?
