You can't be requesting access to force your business over everybody’s land in Nigeria while you are the one that rejects people selling beer from coming to your land.

Tinubu has lost it again. This is not the solution to the problem nomadic herders are having with farmers. What more defines a needless duplication of functions for an overbloated ministerial structure? What he has done is a cowardly approach to tackling an anachronistic system of cattle-rearing that thrives on destructive open-grazing that targets people's farmlands, cash crops and food crops. The brazen and unwarranted excesses of the Fulani herdsmen in killing farmers and sacking villages just to hold on to an old, unfashionable, unsustainable and retrogressive system of animal husbandry must be curbed decisively. But the president has followed a patronising path. Secondly, why put a professor of political science to chair the committee rather than someone versed in agriculture and animal science? He always gets his decisions, appointments and policies wrong. This is another bureaucratic waste and aggravation of an already overstretched cost of governance. Simply put: Tinubu does not have the answer and solutions to Nigeria's problems.

Honestly, you cannot defend APC policies without looking stupid. Why do we need a Ministry of Livestock Development? How is that going to stop the problem of Farmers-herders clashes, banditry, land-grabbing etc? What are they going to do differently? Should government be funding private Livestock businesses? The budget for this new ministry is simply going to fund the private Livestock businesses of the Northern elites.
After the creation of Livestock Ministry, the next thing this government should do is to create the state police that would be monitoring all the activities of these herders and their nationalities should be verified.Henceforth, roaming of a cattles should be banned and emphasis is shifted towards ranching. The Federal govetnment should not waste resources creating ranching as majority of the people all agreed that livestock business is private. There should no preferential treatment as all Nigerians should be encourage to set up this business. Lastly, government should not force any state provide lands for ranching nor open the grazing routes as it would be better if all the Northern states take up these herders and settled them in their zone rather than causing havoc and destructions in other region.

Tinubu is experimenting with Nigeria as he strictly obeys the World Bank, the IMF and other Western Financial outlets. Buhari did the same by experimenting with large scale rice farming which involved the Central Bank and Nigerians were swindled of trillions of Naira. Where is the Buhari rice? Wouldn't a Directorate of Livestock under the Ministry of Agriculture be more efficient, streamlining resources and efforts? I believe the President's decision stems from misguided advice. It's a shame and an embarrassment. The Ministry of Agriculture is capable of managing livestock. Let's address the real issue - land grabbing by Fulani herders who disrespect fellow citizens. I urge the government to enact laws protecting farmers' and herders' rights, resolving their disputes.

The need is necessary due to the failure of previous solutions. The ministry does not mean new staff in its entirety. There will be redeployment so people should stop talking about waste where people's lifes are concern. The problem we have in Nigeria is bundeling. We merged everything and cause confusion. Let us see the advantage in the proposal. If its the case of grabbing, the ministry will address the problems as they were. Solutions are found in pragmatism. The culture aspects will equally be addressed. What the gentleman is saying have been tried and failed. So, it is important for all parties to start listening to one another. Intelligent approach is not open to everyone to understand, but everyone must learn to appreciate that solutions must be sought and that solution should avoid or diffuse confrontation.
