What a great place to explore. There's so much history in the UK.

Wow, I really liked this one. An interesting mix of history, geology, reflection, landscape, and, of course, riding!

"walking on the same side as the derailleur" so simple and obvious but one of the best bits of cycling advice i've ever heard! 35 years cycling, how have I never thought of this before?! Thank you!!

Interesting stuff. I wasn’t aware of that volcano or old settlement and it definitely looks a decent walk. You’re actually building up a decent portfolio of routes that might be more enjoyable without a bike!

Thanks for riding these sorts of routes, SImon, so that I don't have to! But also, thank you for the inspiration.

Did this on a fat bike the other way round and rode pretty much all of it bar the bit down from Glendrian down to their old harbour. It was flooded and no obvious path was apparent. Was a great ride and I would love to give it another go. Ardnamurchan is awesome.

Hiya. Thought you might know this. Whats the Path from Sanna Beach heading South like ? Its visible on Google and joins up with The Old School House Path.

If it's the one that runs first to Portuairk then on to Port na Cara beach then it's a very nice walk, but you'd be carrying or pushing the bike most of the way. Quite a lot of twisting up and down, and you'd not get a decent run.

Thanks Simon I dont think its that path, this one heads almost directly South from Sanna Beag

Ah I see where you mean - it's clear on Komoot. It starts the same as the Portuairk path then branches off south. I've only gone as far as that branch and that would be a carry/push. The bottom section looks like double track, but the connection between the two doesn't even appear on the OS map. However, Bing Maps Satellite, which I always find clearest in our area, seems to show a fairly decent path. It's one we'll check out next time we're at the far end of the peninsula - thanks! www.bing.com/maps/?cp=56.734479%7E-6.179736&lvl=17.3&style=h

I just checked Strava for you Gordon. Moving time 2hr45m. Elapsed time 4h29m. Shows how long all that filming takes 😁
