For $1,000, I can NOT see them just making it a display piece. I like lego, I like Star Wars, but I'm sorry, I'm NOT paying $1,000 for a big, gray ball of plastic. It HAS to be a combination playset/display piece like the Mos Eisley Cantina.
Agreed. Honestly, I would rather Lego make it as big as possible instead of making it smaller with minifigures. Since most of the figures they will include in the new Death Star are most likely already released.
@tabletopstudios66for a $1000 Lego set I would like to believe that most minifigures are going to be exlusive with arm printing and duel moulded legs. However with the way Lego is going on the past years I highly doubt it
I don’t think it’ll catch on with too many people but it is gonna absolutely suck if there’s a set you want and the only one available gets its price jacked up because the box is clean 😂
REAL. Grading is a complete scam and I barely tolerate it for the TCG/CCG area, I despise it on videogames and imagine it on LEGO. Why the fuck should someone care for a plastic box with a dumb number telling you the box is in a certain level of condition. As Ryan said, I can tell it myself through my display on shelves and most people care for the builds, not that fake """"collector"""" bullshittery
I love finding retired sets with damaged sealed boxes, it's a way of getting the full original experience for less as they always go for less with a damaged box, say ucs boba Fett slave 1 mint box is now £450 you can sometimes get one in a sealed bashed up box for £350
AskMandR: Do you think there's a possibility that the rumoured $50 Turbo Tank could be a 4+ set? With Mando's N-1 being $30 I don't think it's too far of a reach that Lego would charge $50 for a dinky little Turbo Tank, then maybe throw someone like Bly in it to make more people that normally wouldn't want it to buy one, similarly like what they did with R5 in the N-1
AskMadnR: I recently broke my 2016 Death Star and when I was rebuilding it I noticed that the instructions were more complicated and less simplified than set instructions (even 18+ sets) today. Do you think this is surprising considering that Lego has gained way more adult fans and has catered more towards them? Love your videos man keep up the greatness!
18+ doesn't refer to difficulty level, but to whom they're trying to market the sets. 18+ sets are often extremely simple to build and easy to follow in the instructions precisely because Lego is trying so hard to bring in new adult fans with lots of disposable income who don't know Lego building techniques intimately the way hardcore AFOL's do.
We are already paying $1,300.00 in Australia for the UCS Millenium Falcon and the A.T - A.T. I'm a little scared to see the final price for this new Death Star.
The AUD value was ~0.76 USD in 2017 when the Falcon was released. It’s predicted to dive to 0.50 USD in 2025 with a tanking Chinese economy so I’m honestly expecting the new Death Star to be close to $2k AUD. 😬
Instead of panels on the new Death Star I could see it “splitting” in half or in quarters and opening up in the same way / idea as the mos eisley cantina. That way we get a really good looking exterior and still have various scenes on the inside
My comment will probably get lost in the masses but something that I want to point out is that the CIS MTT in the Clone Wars deployed exclusively B2 Super Battle Droids. So they'd have to find a way to get Supers in an MTT.
300 for the ucs slave 1 is just down to the ‘Star Wars tax’ Lego has just renewed the licence with Disney and as Disney isn’t making any money they’ve increased the Star Wars licence fee that Lego has bought - hence the price rise in Star Wars sets.
if you did not know, on the jedi bob’s star-fighter, you can take off the piece that is used to hold the milk and banana and put the droid in that hole
Ask Mnar: What characters do you think lego would make into brickheads next year if they make a rots brickhead pack like the ep 1 brickhead pack from this year
Yeah I used to be way more into collecting lego but theres been a ton of instances over the past few years where attention to detail has fallen off a cliff. Dont even get me started about the prices as well.
AskmandR: I recently found out that I owned the original 2009 Grand carousel (Value around $3000 AUD) and was completely sealed. However I didn't keep great care of the box and the box is very old and all the og tape fell off. I am planning on reselling, but would it still be called Sealed considering I never opened it, or is it called new or used even though all packages are still sealed?
I would love to see a reissue of the original Jango Fett minifigure but with arms and leg printing included in the UCS set. The original is one of my favorite minifigures of all time... 👍
what fo you expect lego to do with the Turbo Tank? will it will be more of a mimifigure pack then a tank set, will it be a sucky tank, or a mini desplay set?
What if the UCS Slave 1 is the same size as the 2015 version, but cost more because it has all the pieces to do a colour swap between Jango’s & Boba’s versions? I doubt that’ll be the case, and would be annoying that it costs so much because of it, but it could potentially be a pretty cool idea
To add to this, maybe Lego wanted to do Jango’s Slave 1, but it may not sell enough as more people may prefer Boba’s one. So this way, Lego get to do both at once, people can pick which one they build (esp good for those with the 2015 one). And some people may even buy 2 to have both
I know it’s a little late for this Christmas but for next Christmas you should get another stocking with an M on it. So you’ll have M and R stockings for your background.
AskMandR: Do you think the chances of cloth/waist capes being re-introduced is higher? Since the new CMF pirate girl has a cloth skirt/waist cape piece. I atleast hope this is the case for the new 40$ 327th battle pack that is rumored for summer 2025.
I think a cool Death Star GWP would be some mini Imperial/Rebel ships that you can use to populate the outside of the Death Star but maybe that should just be included in the set anyways.
AskMandR: Will we Get any more rebels sets!? I know we got the ghost last year but that was for Ashoka. So what vehicles or places could become a future set?
While I do think there is merit in grading some stuff... I don't think graded Lego sets are interesting at all. Essentially.. box collecting. There are instances where a graded Lego may be totally understood.. like original run sets from the 1900's or maybe individual minifigs that are rare because they were given to employees or misprinted.. and even then it's more about authentication than it is "grading" the condition of the figure.

I like the display sets. However, I don’t think a $1000 Death Star display only set is a great idea. It’s just a big gray sphere. It needs something to make it interesting.

Ask Mandr: do you think the $50.00 turbo tank with be based off the bad batch? It could be set in season 3, and would include figs like rampart and maybe CX-2?
Ask MandR: Do you think the Clone Turbo Tank for $50ish/350ish pieces could be a combo pack of Microfighters? Like maybe a Marauder/CTT/Omega’s ship with Hunter/Wrecker/Omega?
Man I just feel like getting your hopes up for the $1000 Death Star having even 25+ figures is a stretch for Lego right now. I am praying they don’t cut corners on something so unique and special as legos first $1000 set. But I just have been let down so many times at this point idk what to think.
Ask Mandr: Do you think buildable figures could return? I feel like the choice to bring them back would be nice, if they do 3 things. 1: price. Alot of sets are insanely overpriced, espically the sarlacc pit and desert skiff. 2: Character. Last time we were met with buildable figures, some charactars looked REALLY ugly (jyn erso), but I feel like captain rex or clone force 99 would look nice. 3: Extra. It would make it even better if it included a plaque or minifigure based off the buildable figure. What do you think about them?
AskMandR: is it possible this UCS Death Star only has HALF of an interior and then the other half is for structure support? Similar to the latest UCS Falcon that only has a few spots with interior and the rest is aesthetic. Side note:(how cool would it be if it spins! - like a globe on the base stand)
