Kid fuckin' nailed it!! This cassette didn't leave my Walkman from 1st grade until at least 3rd. So glad there are still kids listening to the good shit. Don't ever give up. Don't ever let anyone tell you you can't make it.
@@N0remacsketch He probably can. But my comment wasn't about his playing. It was directed at the "Nailed it" part. Saying "Nailed it" implies it was a spot on, note for note recreation. And if the commenter thinks the player "Nailed it", then the commenter doesn't know the original.
Well done! There was a time when even the best guitar players of the mid to late 70's could only guess what Eddie was up to. Eddie stood out because of his unique approach and style. Now decades later it's the DeFacto go to riff and style for most novice players.... crazy! Thank you, Eddie, for raising the bar so high it took 45 years for us to catch up!
Man this is what I imagined my high school performances would be And not the absolute shitshows that they always turned into! I still wish I could sound like that! Phenomenal job my dude! PS. BTW sick rig man! Love those Kramer S, I was going to get a slime green 1... Bird I ended up going with a char vel . .. and then the half stack...?? Great classic simple yet totally dependable, choices A super strat through a Marshall stack..... A well-proven killer combo!
It is one of the most fun solos ever to play, and to non-guitarists it makes you look like you are the best in the business (except to the person that gave you second place)
The ones that gave you 2nd place are just jealous of your talent and the amount of hard work and effort you put to this solo. You're not the champion by the paper, but you're the champion on your folks' and internet's heart. Keep up the amazing job, dude. Rockin' all the way🤘
When I was in high school, we had a kid named Christian who turned the talent show into a bloody CONCERT and he was singing In The End by Linkin Park, sounded exactly like Chester and had the whole auditorium on their feet singing along with him but ya know who won? The frat boy playing four chords on an acoustic guitar for three minutes. Happens every time
What a great time to be alive for that kid because when I was in high school there would be like four guys or more doing the same solo for talent show almost to the point where it would be necessary to have a separate event to see who can play eruption the best
@@TomekG2137 Kramer Baretta. Anything from the new Kramer line is gold. If you want to get a budget guitar with some amazing specs defo check them out.
@@cheenu711 is it the special or the Barretta vintage? Honestly I can’t justify 800$ for “the 84” or Barretta vintage when they’re not at least made in Mexico. Should I just buy the special and mod the hell out of it? Looking for a guitar to keep in drop D tuning
@@ethansteingruby9485 well I didn't want a Floyd Rose so I got the special. Great mod platform. I swapped the pot, added locking tuners and a bone nut and it's pretty stable once setup properly. The pickup is surprisingly good btw. Cutting the nut is pretty challenging because of the hockeystick headstock. Of course if you want a Floyd rose then all this goes out of the window lol. You can defo go for the 84 or baretta. They're amazing too. I honestly think the neck is same on all the models. There might be some duds here and there at the lower price points but I've consistently heard that the neck work and resonance are great and I defo concur.
I'm planning on doing this for my high school talent show next year. We had one this year about 6 months ago and I performed the solo from One by Metallica.
Not sure about that. Eddie was kinda sick of so many people imitating his style so maybe not about Eddie being so proud. Plus Eruption solos are all over TikTok and has become a dime a dozen. How about either start writing your own solos and most importantly learn how to be a great songwriter more than a soloist, which Eddie Van Halen wanted more in his music more so than playing solos.
You do any mods on your guitar for the tremolo? I have the blue KBS and dig it but the trem is touchy and can go out of tune. I'll probably upgrade it eventually, but for the money it's a bad ass little guitar. It's the cheapest guitar I own but it gets played a lot more because I like the way it feels. The stock pickup sounds good too. Drop the low E to D and you're right back in the 80s. I love play Ratt songs on it . Good job on the tune too. Congrats on second place. Who got first? Someone from your school's choir singing karoke?
For the trem I took out the middle spring and adjusted the tension accordingly. I also lubed the nut with some pencil lead. After doing that it worked pretty well. I was pleasantly surprised with the stability. A duet got first but they were good they deserved it
I view this as an ad for those kramer baretta specials, I can't believe it stayed in tune without a locking nut :) did you slick up the nut before you did the show or something?
@@jorgemery5568 kind of...more like removing hardware. I took out the middle spring of the trem system and adjusted the tension. I think the added tension of the middle spring made it unstable when using the bar. Changing the stock strings also helped, and lubricating the nut with graphite. I have a video summarizing the changes If you're curious.
@@josephhenryofficial mmm... Im thinking about getting a Baretta Special, but also i want to learn to dive in the EVH style, with the whammy bar... would you say its enough with the original guitar hardware? Or should i go for something more expensive like a Floyd Rose?
@@jorgemery5568 I highly recommend the Baretta Special if you want the classic Van Halen look and feel with the one pickup and banana headstock. I love Floyd Roses, but I can guarantee that a Floyd Rose will be more of a pain. I have a Kramer SM1 and I totally play the Baretta more (its more stable too, surprisingly). Overall, for a little under 200 bucks, the Baretta Special is arguably the best guitar in its price range. In my opinion, the neck and hardware feel like they come from a 700-800 dollar guitar, and the pickup sounds great for rock. If you don't want to set it up yourself, get a basic setup from guitar center and ask the tech to remove the spring and adjust the remaining trem springs as part of the setup.
hey dude your talent is amazing, but people keep asking who got first place? I'm genuinely curious. Was it a sympathy vote? Either way man sick cover!!!
