those 14l 60 series are fairly desirable. everyone loves those air liner suspensions, I'm personally not a big fan of them though. always tons of good parts even on the most seemly useless old "junk" truck.
@@j.c.smithprojects I agree on the Pete LAL. 8 Bag really suck for tow trucks. Way too overcomplicated, too many wear points,,, it is a parts profit center for Kenworth. Besides being a pain to move when altering wheelbase.
@@haroldphipps3457 they all have there drawbacks I didn't like the air liner due to always being heavy and some off-road stuff I was always replacing u bolts but it did ride fairly good. Some of the off-road guys guys love the 8bag cause they say it keeps the tires planted good in uneven terrain. They do ride kinda rough on road though. Low air leaf can crack the axle housings where the perch is welded on ag380 and flex air can have issues with the u bolts. Pick your poison...lol

However, I have seen videos where they find older cabover trucks in the wilderness-in better rust shape than your 2004 junk project- and bring them back to service. Yes, some older trucks must be junked for others to keep running. Operators, use creative accounting to push used trucks out of service, and apparently the manu industry designs life expectance around the median service life of the trucks. Thanx for your response and your teaching us good mechanics.

The only person(s)/entities, that like that “stuff” is the auto manufacturers., it helps keep up the manufacturing numbers… Oh yeah, i guess we drivers who don’t like diving on ice.., hahaha. @@j.c.smithprojects the one he has on now is messed up so bad I had to put screws in the headlights to hold them in and the drivers tear them up so don't want to put a brand new one on. Would be nice to find a gray hood. But at this point he dont care
To make it a little easier to remove 5th wheels you can take an old pin from a trailer and put a hook on it or a piece of channel iron so you can grab it with the telehandler or forklift.
I seriously doubt that people realize how much a million plus miles will do to the cab of a rig.... way more than its worth to me anyhow to repair unless is a specialty cabin.... the one in front of us today can be fairly nice but still whether people believe this or not... rodents have made their way in. I have seen trucks with just delivery miles on them that showed traces of damn rodents. I think the big money today is to invent something that would eliminate all rodents crawling, flying, or swimming.. I do know that after so many years of just a cummins engine or nothing for power has changed quite a bit. I still don't care for cat prices for the distance given trouble free... those newer detroits have got power, a good jake, an do last as much as the next... question is, just how big a engine will they actually end up with? Its a long way from the first 53 series engine I had to deal with

I like the way you unplug and unbolt instead of "cut" it apart.
its not useable if it is ruined....doesnt take much longer to "take it apart" than it does to "hack" it up.

It's less than 200$ new..why put wore out linkages back on when it's that cheap.And new mirrors you can get for like 100$.
I would but i doubt the wiper assembly is worth the effort to remove for what it costs new.
