- Sorry I've been a bit quiet on videos recently, had alot going on and the ponds had to take a bit of a back seat. I'll try and get a proper update video out soon
Wow they have grown Dan all looking spot on 👍🏼👍🏼
Cheers buddy. I'm well impressed with the growth this season. The saki hikari has definitely helped. Your ponds looking great, good to see it finally up and running 👍
@@dannycurrie1 yea it took a while I am really happy now tho Dan thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
Ponds looking great as always Danny!
Fish are looking awesome. 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻
Cheers buddy 👍 hopefully another few months of growing to come aswell
looking great and the fish have put on some good size
Had great results with saki hikari this year. All of the fish seem to have put a good bit on
Very nice Danny. Gosh the fish have grown and put some volume on! Wow.
Thanks :) the GinRin chag in particular is getting massive. Saki hikari has done well for them. Waters stayed very clear aswell. This amount of food with coppens and the water was quite murky last year
@@dannycurrie1 yeah definitely the Ginrin chag is looking nice. All of them are wider so you can tell the food is good. The doitsu chag from Cuttlebrook is looking really nice through the window. Nice!
Very nice Danny 👍
Cheers buddy 👍 saki is doing wonders for them
Fish are looking quality..was looking for the black Zeus!
Water is crystal too
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The saki hikari has done them wonders. The black Zeus is in there. It's kept all its Sumi so its bit difficult to see sometimes still. I'll get a proper video out soon and make sure I get a clip of it. It's growing but not as quick as the dainichi showa, that's put on about 10cm already
Some lovely koi stay safe
Thank you :) fingers crossed for a few more months of good weather
Some beautiful fish there pal clarity is brilliant. Well done awesome.
Cheers buddy. The saki hikari seems to have made a big difference. Clarity is still brilliant with half a kilo a day going in
Definitely got some good size on them Dan looking good and water look spot on mate 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Cheers buddy 👍my dainichi showa is growing brilliant 10cm in 10 weeks so far. Saw your video, yours looks to be growing well as well. Now my ponds properly mature the drums doing a brilliant job with the clarity even with half a kilo a day going in
Yeh they have definitely grown well mate 👍 👏
The saki hikari seems to be doing the trick. That and the heat of course
@@dannycurrie1 absolutely mate is it the balance your using or growth?
@@keepingitkoi about half balance sinking. A quarter growth floating and a quarter colour floating. Seems to be working good and the water is staying clear. Was on 100% balance floating and sinking until last month, Picked up a very slight tinge to the water since adding the growth and colour in but not too bad really
@@dannycurrie1 thanks bud I have the colour at the moment but was thinking of switching to balance 👍
@@keepingitkoi if your unheated I'd go balance rather than growth. Mix it in with the colour. I've fed balance for most of the year until this month. Gone through over 30kg and they have grown well on it
Stunning
Cheers buddy 👍
Looking good Danny real good. 👍🏻😎
Cheers buddy. Been following your pond build. Great job so far. Going to look brilliant once your finished 👍
@@dannycurrie1 thanks mate I sure hope so…you’re welcome round when it’s complete. 👍🏻
@@PhilGsKoiPond would be great to see it when it's done 👍
Do you feel that this year's unusually hot summer has also made KOI as muscular as those kept in Japan? If this is the case, I would recommend that aeration is bolder and more vigorously agitated.
I wouldn't say it's made the more muscular but it's definitely helped with there growth. I've been heated to 23 all summer though. I prefer the surface of my pond quieter without too many air bubbles, but it's a good idea to have extra air in this heat. I've got lots of air going into the filters instead and I test my oxygen levels regularly
@@dannycurrie1 Summer rearing in Japan is favoured by more agitated pond water to encourage more continuous swimming. They are devised so that there is no stagnation in every corner of the pond, and yet the KOI et al. are trained to become less cautious so that they still remain interested in their food. See my list of 'KOI feeding skills' for a glimpse.
🤩👌👌👌👌👌
The saki hikari is making all the difference 👌
@@dannycurrie1 yeah mate I've noticed a huge difference in my growth skin and benni
Koi are looking absolutely fecking awesome Danny bruva 👌💯🧁👍👍👍
Cheers buddy 👍 smashing the food into them at the moment, I'm impressed how well the water quality is holding up with half a kilo a day going in
