      Cheers buddy. All doing good now, did have costia over the winter, few raised scales on the kujaku, had to bring the temps up to 16 while I treated them, all healed up fine though now, having the ashp is so important for sorting issues during the winter. Bring on the spring. Some cracking fish you've picked up recently mate, your ponds looking great, love that kikikuryu and the tancho 👍

      Cheers mate. It's a worthwhile investment the airsource heat pump. Just to keep it stable through these warm days and cold nights. Comes into its own for the growing season, doesn't cost much in the summer and you can have good growing temps all summer

    Looking great Danny, the fish look in great condition, what are the white and orange 🍊 fully scaled koi called
    Also is possible to suffer diseases during the winter months? Half of my fish look healthy and fine and there’s one or two that look like they have been flashing and flicking themselves

    • @dannycurrie1
      @dannycurrie1  Год назад

      It's definitely possible for fish to have issues during the winter months, it's probably the most likely time. If you've got fish flashing you need to get some water tests done, there all ok then you will need to get some scrapes done to identify any parasites and treat accordingly

    Amigo , alguien te pregunto, como se llama el koi blanco y naranja y no le contestastes por que te hizo otra pregunta .Me gustaria saber si es un Hariwake ,ya que e visto que su color amarillo limon puede cambiar a naranja.

    Hi, how do find the remora heat pump, do you have a rough running cost for it? Thinking of buying one this year 15500L pond

    • @dannycurrie1
      @dannycurrie1  Год назад

      It's a great bit of kit. I'd definitely recommend it. In terms of price mate it's impossible to put a figure on it really, varies massively on the outside temps. They work down to minus 15 but there efficiency drops as it's gets close to zero and they have to run regular defrost cycles. That said it's much cheaper than an in-line heater. When we had that really cold snap with minus 5/6 etc it was costing £3-4 a day and that was just to hold 8 degrees. The last 6 weeks it's been sat at 16 and I'd guess avaraging well under £1 a day. Comes into its own in the summer, costs a few pence her day and you can have the water at 24 degrees all summer.

    • @leegeorge4423
      @leegeorge4423 Год назад

      @@dannycurrie1 not to bad then, I am going to try running my shower at a bit slower flow also this year. I am deffo thinking of a heater this year. As did lose two fish in that cold spell so the cost of running a heater is still cheaper than fish dying

    • @dannycurrie1
      @dannycurrie1  Год назад

      @@leegeorge4423 that's the best thing about the heater mate. I had them at 8 over most of the winter. I had costia in the pond, had a few raised scales on the kujaku and lots of flashing, wacked the temps up to 16. Cost a few quid on the heating but got them treated and all healed up no problem. Worth every penny if it saves losing a fish
