Some failsafes for a player spoiling future events would need to be made. There's also the dillema with AI forgetting past convo details, too... There is impressive AI tech around, that can take care of all such problems, but it's quite expensive for devs. Still. Some gacha HAS to do it at some point, give it 3 years at most.

In terms of how these games are as a gacha game, it's still the same, but I do like the change in demographic. The gacha life may still be hard, but at least the game is getting better.
There are a lot of new features and game modes, other than this, that have been added too. With the increased revenue, it is actually turning into one of my favorite games to play. However, I have to admit the change is what brought me to the game to begin with.
It got me back into Snowbreak. I played the first two months of it and just got bored with it sadly. I wanted to like it. I'm having a good time with it again now, I like the new direction. I also like some of the content they have added since last time I played. The new touch feature is... holy. I've played some H games that this is coming awfully close to with that one lol. That ain't a bad thing. It's no Nikke but hey no gacha game comes close to that one... I'm at least enjoying the game more than HSR now. So right now Snowbreak is my #2.

In a way it's kind of sad Snowbreak wasn't able to keep players by delivering quality gameplay. I do wonder if this new direction will save the game, or if it's just a bump and the slide will begin again.
NGL, I tried out the game (Before the neuron activation patch) and I found nice but ultimately bland for whatever reason, maybe adding more movement option would have help. Doesn't really give the feeling that were running around as superhuman waifus. Just standard solider waifus. (Forgive my ignorance for I didn't get too far and don't know much of the story but that's what it felt like.)
The gameplay is fun, but that doesn't give much reason to spend money without making the game p2w or p2p. The only way to generate income while keeping things f2p is to give us things we want to spend money on, and pretty high on that list is sexy women/skins. I'd say this is a good direction financially.
I am probably in the minority that mainly continue to play Snowbreak daily for the really good third person shooter game play and improving story quality more than the lewd content. I do buy some of the nice looking outfits, except for the more childlike bodied girls that are Eatchel and Fritia. I gave Nikke several chances, but the fact I could not run around like in Snowbreak greatly hurt my enjoyment of Nikke very quickly, leading to me not even finish the first chapter in the story before calling it quits every time.

As for Snowbreak I played it almost since the begining and I liked it even then, so long as the story doesnt take unnecessary steps towards the ML and more importantly, so long as they dont completely neuter the characters to make their only characteristic that they love the MC, im okway with it. I like the characters, the world and the story, the gameplay is fun and keeps getting better so I enjoy the game. Im there for any romance or marriage system they will hopefully add in the future. I just hope they avoid extremes, like changes to the friendship between Siris and Chenxing were imo unnecessary and removela of the male logistic pictures while harmless is really stupid imo. On the other hand, I do think that games should stick to their niche, there wont be many "genshin" like games that have success despite playing all fields, on the contrary, most will die out and partially because of genshin and the like unless they stick to their target audience. Also, keep in mind that the devs said that above 70% of their revenue came from PC (at least globally) so these numbers are nothing.
There's at least one gacha game NOW that allows you to head-pat playable characters and even UNPLAYABLE ones such as Arona; and that gacha game is, of course, Blue Archive!

Snowbreak is more like a guilty pleasure game for me, It gets boring if you play it non stop so I just play casually as my second game. Its a good game and i have fun with it.
