Hi! Its a relatively unknown Soviet-Afghan war songs by VIA Rostov. I'm no Russian speaker, and the English is probably a bad translation from Google translate. I cannot say for certain what it's about, but maybe some Soviet special forces detachment in Afghanistan? perhaps they are referring to VDV or Spetznaz or something like that.

Song about VDV (Airborne) unit, they was Elite Forces in USSR and in Russia now. At the end of the song it mentions the battle that took place during the Kunar operation. Where a group of Soviet soldiers were ambushed and were VDV troops sent to rescue them. (Кунарская операция 1985)
Actually the main idea of the song is that 99% of tasks in the war are completed by humble regular troops, although special forces (reffered in the song as 'rangers') with elaborated names just do nothing.
The lyrics describe the situation in which the special forces squad went on mission but failed and had to be salvaged by the regular airborne regiment. As far as i know there were a couple of such cases in this conflict, so the song is inspired by real events.
P.s. English is not my native language, so I hope I haven't messed up with it badly:)
