Great RUclips channel, Jason. Thank you for all the incredible instructional videos; they're incredibly helpful. Please consider demonstrating how to turn a weeping willow into a bonsai. I've just started growing a weeping willow from a cutting and hope to create a bonsai one day.
Good to see you again Jason. I'd like to see you do your magic on the Prostrata. It looks a lot like a plant you can find at any nursery and has those straight thick branches that are daunting at the initial design stage. San Jose has a nice movement already and I feel it is an easier tree to work on.
Nice to see you back making videos! I’m most def that guy looking at trunks putting his hands all over nursery material hunting for that special material. Jason do you sell any of your raw material junipers?
This is definitely me looking at starters at the stores. I keep getting store personnel coming over to see what I'm doing, but when I look at them, they always smile big and move on. I love both trees and hope to see you work on both. As far as the first one I'd like to see you do, that would be the Prostrata. I'm glad you're back online Jason. I felt sick when I heard you talk about what happened at your place. I'm only the rawest beginner, but when I tried to imagine the same thing happening at my home, after I'd worked on my trees for years, I had to stop. I hope you have prepared your place to help catch, preferably stop this kind of thing from happening again. I feel for you!! God Bless hun, have a great weekend!
Love ur website im always buying trees and things from it ,one question though how come u dont have a section where we can just buy any kind of raw material from u?
What’s the difference between SJ and Prostrata?? Natural growth habit, size, foliage, trunk and branch form, bark, color, etc. This one always confuses me as there’s nothing on the internet.
Hi Jason, I like the way you performed the comparison by lifting the (2) tress out of the pot. It allows the artist to capture the true movement of the the tree. I like the San Jose movement better but if the goal is to maybe graft Shimpaku later, I would prefer the Prostrata. Great to see you sharing your inspiration again. Ernie
Ha, I was at Home Depot and this other guy was comin in behind me checking all the trunks. He was just far enough to where it woudlve been weird for me to say something . . . especially if he didnt have a clue what i was talking about.
Totally me at nurseries digging in the pots lol thought I looked wierd to everyone else!!! Love the Bull Boxer shoes brother!!! Keep up the good work!!! :::=^)
A tree that has been worked on is not starting from scratch. Fail. Nothing you looked through is like anything in a regular nursery with 1/2" trunks at best.
I'd like to see the San Jose done. Mostly because I have 2 Junipers that have very similar foliage, ( needles, but starting to show " mature" foliage??) and would like to see you get to the point of pruning the foliage so I can try and figure out how to work on mine. Of all my trees, my Junipers have me the most baffled....
That’s me at a nursery. tipping over plants and folding back at the base. I also look for over grown “not pretty for up front in the nursery” rejects. I have found some real workable treasures in the back lot, and at great discounted prices! i learn good practices on your videos. Please don’t stop.
Do both! If I had to choose though, I’d say start with the San Jose. Amazing foliage color and seems strongest. Sorry to hear about what happened with your nursery. Can’t wait to see your new textbook piece!
Muy contento de verte de nuevo con la mirada del tigre, buscando nuevos proyectos. Ánimo y a disfrutar. Ese material es el que todos soñaríamos encontrar.
The san jose but to be honest they both look promising. Really looking to see what you make of whichever you chose. This channel has been so much help thanks from Birmingham U.K 😉👍
Thank you for all the information you are sharing. I have found myself a juniper and I will be working on it along with you. I have tried juniper in the past but the result was always sad. Looking forward to being successful.
Jason I hope to follow progress on the San Jose juniper. I’d really like to see how you handle it. I have 5 SJ that are in various stages of development and refinement. I think that they are challenging compared to other junipers as they seem to have a strong growth pattern - a mind of their own! Please consider styling the San Jose for us.
Sorry to hear about your trees being stolen. If someone stole my trees I would be devastated. They become family. As for the selection, the Prostrata would be the better challenge.
Yes thats me, inspecting each tree Is exhausting but its worth it. My mistake as a beginner is that I bought a tree online instead of going to the nursery. Its definitely easier to work with the tree that I choose from the nursery than the random one that I bought online as a beginner. I like both trees, lets do both. More is more.
I was drooling looking at all those trees 😁 Keep the faith and thanks for starting over after your loss man! How are the book sales going? Gonna get my hands on a copy soon!
Glad you’re back. I’m still sick about what happened to you with the burglary. Thanks, keep growing
Hi Jason I'm glad to see you're still looking positive these days! Much love
Sad to hear about your tree theft. Glad you are back with more power. Best wishes from Pakistan

I like the san jose :) last time I went to buy a nana the nursery staff commented on how well i was looking them over 😆
I would go with the San Jose. I like the movement of the trunk.
I want you to do both. They are so different it's had to choose one over the other.
San Jose is the better tree and easier to do. But I'd like to see what you can do with the Prostrata.
San Jose! Good video, keep it up!
Definitely would like to see the San Jose worked on, that trunk movement looks very promising!
Nice to see you back making videos! I’m most def that guy looking at trunks putting his hands all over nursery material hunting for that special material. Jason do you sell any of your raw material junipers?
I love the San Jose, could be turned into a high canopy Monterey Cypress IMO.
I love starting from scratch!
This is definitely me looking at starters at the stores. I keep getting store personnel coming over to see what I'm doing, but when I look at them, they always smile big and move on.

San Jose, and let’s get some Shimpaku grafts going!
Love ur website im always buying trees and things from it ,one question though how come u dont have a section where we can just buy any kind of raw material from u?
I think my vote would be, both! 😊
I like the San Jose.
I'm curious to see what you can do for both trees
Maravilloso tu jardín todas tus plantas bonitos pinos
Love your videos 😇🍂
There a not a single bonsai nursery in denmark where i live. we only have normal garden centers here

San Jose! Period!

the San Jose is my vote. I'm looking forward to either one
Is that your nursery? Where is it located? Is it open to the public?
Totally me at nurseries digging in the pots lol thought I looked wierd to everyone else!!! Love the Bull Boxer shoes brother!!! Keep up the good work!!! :::=^)
Aussie Dave here, wow I like the 1 on the right, "San Hosai " ..My spelling might be incorrect, hahaha 😅.I hope you choose the San to work on 🤔..
Opps my spelling was incorrect, it should have been " San Jose " I suppose,,, but I a Aussie, close enough is good enough....hahaha 😅
This company sells bonsai under faults advertising. Junipers are outside bonsai only!!
San Jose 😎
A tree that has been worked on is not starting from scratch. Fail. Nothing you looked through is like anything in a regular nursery with 1/2" trunks at best.
Hi Jason, Prostrata looks more difficult to do something eye catching with originality, hence it's my choice !
Yea definitely me at Lowe’s 🤣🤣
Im in canada where could I get a japanese Maple like that bushy one you worked on?
Iam in San Jose. Where will be best to get some Jupiter? Please and thanks.
Welcome back I choose SanJose Juniper 👍👍🇵🇷
What time of the year is best to downsize raw material.
.pine and cedar?..
I'd say the prostrata trunk has more of the typical nursery raw material feel for me.
I'd do both. They look equally interesting to me.
hello! my needles have all browned what should i do? should i trim?
good to see you back, my choice is the san jose
When comes the styling video 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Sargenti biru ya pak
You forgot the hunting rifle dude but nice catch .
I'd like to see the San Jose done. Prostrata... because of the movement.
Do both 😇

Nice looking nursery trees.
I would love to see you work both!!
Sorry to hear about your trees being stolen. If someone stole my trees I would be devastated. They become family. As for the selection, the Prostrata would be the better challenge.
San Jose please :)
Maybe do both and use them to show how two similar shrubs can turn out completely differently based on the initial design choices you make
Yes thats me, inspecting each tree Is exhausting but its worth it. My mistake as a beginner is that I bought a tree online instead of going to the nursery.

I’d like to see the San Jose
Definitely me in any garden centre or nursery. Eye rolls galore from my family while I’m raking in soil and scratching bark 😂
I was drooling looking at all those trees 😁 Keep the faith and thanks for starting over after your loss man! How are the book sales going? Gonna get my hands on a copy soon!
The first tree is my choice
San José is chinensis var. prostrata?
This is exactly how I search at the nursery, and everyone else must think I'm crazy 😂
There are no nurseries that have material like this where I live. I’ve traveled 3 hours every which way and there’s no trunks over 1” I swear lol
Definitely me at a nursery looking at bases of trees etc. lol people always look at me as if I've lost my sanity.
I’m team San Jose I can see some beautiful movement through all that dead foliage!
What nursery is this
My vote is the peseta
38 views only so far, I am early!
san jose, please
I vote San Jose too.
plant this big listed in the Eastern Leaf website?
First one 😉.
