I really do like this anime, as I enjoy the concept and execution, but it really is quite sad the more you think about it. Especially since there are people who have genuinely given up and would take this option in a heartbeat just for any form of compassion or comfort
That would be true in our lifetime. But given that androids can evolve and develop, perhaps it's not all that sad. This is not just a story about a human falling in love with a robot, it's also a story about a robot becoming more human.
@@RevansZombiethat's even worst! You buy your girlfriend in a box, and as it is turn on it starts to understand the position it is. "Why was I created?" "For my pleasure" "And....?" "That's it ! You are my property , I bought you because you will love me, that's you function ." "....oh"
Fr dude my homie is living this life basically. I asked if he wanted to go to a party and he would rather sit at home and what I’m assuming he does it just plays games with ai girls based on the shit he shows me.

Lol because he's a loser that can't get an actual woman so he bought a machine 😂😂😂 he just showed his parents how much of a loser he really is@Makiyura
Well, I for one can take this story as just fictional instead of taking it serious, and I think it's lovely. It's "weird" only because the MC seems to be the only one dating a robot not designed for relationships but I love how it also looks like the story is about said robot finding a sense of humanity. I mean, it isn't the first time we see this in media. Terminator 2 did it with John seeing a father figure in a machine he barely had for a week, and I think that's sadder over this but to each their own, I guess...
As the uncle says, the relationship is sad due to the power imbalance. Mina is technically a slave, she's legally a material possession of Takuma or whoever takes charge.
He had a point though. He basically owns her and she's a machine with extremely limited amounts of free will. She just wants to make him happy and while that's... Okay? Good? She doesn't aspire for much more, and in a way stagnant.
I'm surprised by the parents reaction, almost like if they saw that coming...like from MILES. In any case, you can't be that desperate to the point to date a ROBOT or a DROID...
No matter how i look at it or how wholesome you attempt to be thisnis simply a man who to has given up on reality and accpeted the easier path in life nothing you say can make this justified at the end of the day that robot is a "Robot" the only diffrence it learns but that's nothing new in technology. It may sound harsh but if im being realistic it's pitiful to trick yourself into believing a machine is the same as a person
It depends on the machine's level of advancement. The problem here is Mina is not a very advanced robot. Her one directive in life is to please her owner. Advanced androids that can think for themselves and have aspirations, beliefs, and wants are much less controversial and hopeful. Even an android say, as advanced as Data from Star Trek, wouldn't be a great choice as a spouse. Sure he has dreams and aspirations but he has no emotions and your relationship will be incredibly sterile. They had a whole episode about it lol.
It’s cute now knowing that the robot is evolving and possibly developing feelings, but the initial part of the anime is literally just a pathetic guy who resorted to grooming his own wife because of his lack of willpower to find a real one. it’s kinda wild if you really take time to think about what you watching instead of rotting your eyes for entertainment
the mc is most likely aware with how weird it is but I'm sure he eventually realized that he's much more attached to this robot than he expected. People have married far more weirder things in real life like the Eiffel tower so surprisingly, this isn't too weird compared to the dumb shit people do in real life, at least his robot is sentient and can do housework, for some men, that's literally all they want in a wife especially now that having children is starting to be impractical in most countries. He could have been a terrible husband if he had a human wife, so better the robot.
The amount of of people in the comment section who would be okay that their children present a robot as their spouse is just, wow I know it’s 2024 so you guys have to bend over and accept whatever a person present as their life choice without question but still just wow😂
The Uncle cooks, both the omlete rice and the fact that he is right about the nature of the relationship.

The bloodline will ends on him
He's got a sister
They took that surprisingly well.
I'm pretty sure his dad cried himself to sleep the next day.
They know he's a loser weirdo they have just came to terms with it at this point

they did in the manga

His uncle was the sanest person to react. I love the romance in this anime but the concept they're selling is off to me.
That's point, it's completely different than what we are used to IRL.

Thank God they adapted this manga and not the other manga from the same author where the MC is trying to screw a komodo dragon. 😬 Author kinda cooked.
