It is also possible that Yui's mother actually told her to stay by Masto knowing, he would keep her safe. Anyways, Yui never looked at Masato as her father. God, I hate Usagi-Drop stories like this one. This story had a perfect chance of avoiding that, especially with the kouhai's presence, but it just had to squander it.
I think that Usagi Drop did a GREAT job of showing exactly how incredibly wrong the whole thing is. I don't know if that was the mangaka's goal in particular, but literally everyone I know -- myself included -- found the pivot of the relationship into romance to be stomach-churning. The same here. It's not at all fine to marry the child you raised. Even if it is legal under the law, it's both immoral and unethical.
@@Josh-99I also hated the last arc of Usagi drop manga. This trope is as old as civilization though so it is a nice exercise to try to empathize with people that take weird decisions. At the end of the day it is fiction.
@@Josh-99 Mangaka of Usagi Drop herself admitted that the story was wish fulfillment for her and the crush she had towards her father figure. Or at least, that's what I heard. So, I don't really think she was denouncing it.

Yeah, no, the story was messed up from the start, starting how she destroyed her friendship with that NTR. Good for taking care of the child, but still messed up for how the relationship developed.
Is it even NTR? MC never though of the girl as his love interest and she was inlove with someone else. They're best friends at best and support one another. I don't see people call this as NTR
I understand the pain of losing a friend. Back when I was held back in 3rd grade, I lost a friend that I knew for only a couple years named J.R. in a fire. Yes it was sad,but we have a choice. Either let the pain consume us until we get really sick and die or we move on past the pain.

4:02 Look who’s talking. You said you were “scared”, FMC. Congratulations, MC. You raised your best friend’s daughter to become…..a stalker. I’d give this story a 2/10. The character designs are interesting.
So I just had to do some math here. Azusa got preggo in highschool, so probably right at age of consent, 16. 9 months later we add Yui to the census, round up to 17. Yui hits 5, Azusa hits 5 feet under at 22. Yui goes to cooleg, pretty sure that happens at 18, comes back 4 years later at approximately the same age her mom was, 22, and that means our boy Ma-kun has reached the ripe old age of 39. A 17 year age gap isn't unheard of, but it'll definitely be the talk of the local Council of Housewives. Now, if we go by the rule-of-thumb of "half your age plus seven," we get 26.5, 4.5 years older than Yui. With that acceptable age gap widening by .5 years per year, their age gap doesnt get out of the squick zone until Ma-kun hits 48. Still, at least it's not as wild of an age gap as Usagi drop.

Imprinting behaviour. 😂
I can't be the only one thinking how wrong this is, like how does anyone marry what essentially IS their daughter. He's literally like a father since she hasn't known her father since he died before she was born.
It just feels weird in the worst way possible.
No, you're not. Unfortunately, we seem to be in the minority.
Yup, its gotten to the point where I skip to the ending of these manga dubs about adoption just to make sure I wouldn't be grossed out about a guy trying to get with his adopted daughter.

The world has become a sick place
Maybe you shouldn't take fiction that seriously. Romcoms and the like are literally fantasy anyways.
It was really nice of Masato to take care of Yui after she lost her mom.😔 But man did she really become clingly and stalkerish with her feelings for him. She really would bot take "No" for an answer with all the surveillance cameras and listening devices.😂 But it was really sweet that the two could become a couple at the end.🥰 Mostly because he's the only one who could handle her possessiveness and stalkerish personality.😅
I think Yui just doesn't want to lose Masato, she lacked any mother figure to properly guide her feelings.
@@earth2k66um tbh I'm afraid she might even try to murder her new mother if masato ever got married with anyone.. yeah I think it's much better for him to marry her bcz I think she will disturb masato and he's new wife(if he decides to marry another woman)and ruin her life by being a murderer (I mean she could became like that... Obsessive behaviour are scary especially when it's to the point of stalking so it's better to not let ourselves become too obsessed with someone)
@@Flower_Crown7-n8u If Masato had a wife or girlfriend when he took in Yui, she would have grew up in another female's presence. That would have provided her a motherly figure to channel her affections towards her too.
Because she felt lonely, she just kept stalking him thinking, he might leave her too. It is also possible that Yui's mother actually told her to stay by Masto knowing, he would keep her safe. Anyways, Yui never looked at Masato as her father.
Yui is probably the most selfish character in this story, but you can't blame her either.
@@earth2k66 your right, but seeing how he didn't get married even after he took yui in, I thought it's too late for him to marry someone when yui already old(bcz yui already started to have stalker and obsessive behaviour when she was older). I'm just giving my point of view, bcz I watch/read too much stories where these stalkers/obsessive ppls ruin the ml and fl life bcz they can't accept that someone they are so obsessed with are getting together with someone else(often these obsessive ppls are the antagonist, thought I'm saw it more with the girls who obsessed with ml) but in this context obviously masato didn't want to hurt yui bcz she's he's best friend daughter(he sees yui as a responsibility for him to look after her and didn't want to ruin her life)so obviously he would have mixed feelings if he saw yui hurting he's new wife and we can't even predict if he gonna took action and send yui to prison or he didn't act on and just told he's new wife to ignore yui and pretend as if yui never tried to murder he's new wife

Don't like it? Then don't watch it, snowflake
@@Josh-99 Mangaka of Usagi Drop herself admitted that the story was wish fulfillment for her and the crush she had towards her father figure. Or at least, that's what I heard. So, I don't really think she was denouncing it.

"I was forced to be a groomer by my best friends daughter! Now ALL the people watching will not call me a pedo!!!!" That is what i saw, weird ass story, wtf
This art style is GAS man
The male mc doesn't change any appearance after like 16 years when he's already 24
Conclusion: he's 40 years old (24+16)
I just did the math, and assuming that the guy was 19/20 when he first adopted yui(probably 6 years old) it's a 7 year age gap, and it was said she aged up to 18 so the guy was 32, and 4 years later she's 21, and the guy's 36
Dont worry my dad is 50 and my mom is 30 so they have a 20 year age gap
The VA is doing such a great job, wonderful.
5:43 bro i dont know why i laughed so hard at this😭
Yeah, no, the story was messed up from the start, starting how she destroyed her friendship with that NTR. Good for taking care of the child, but still messed up for how the relationship developed.
Is it even NTR? MC never though of the girl as his love interest and she was inlove with someone else. They're best friends at best and support one another. I don't see people call this as NTR
...They're best friends. He doesnt look at her that way.
moral of the story : children can be groomers
Lol

I understand the pain of losing a friend. Back when I was held back in 3rd grade, I lost a friend that I knew for only a couple years named J.R. in a fire. Yes it was sad,but we have a choice. Either let the pain consume us until we get really sick and die or we move on past the pain.
The fact that you dared to do a story that is ultra controversial makes it better than the others lol

He raised her since she was like 6. She is also his best friend's daughter. It'll be weird to date/marry someone that you raised as a daughter.
"you're so annoying!"
She says... After getting caught stalking her guardian.
He is not an adoptive father. He did not adopt her because want to be a father. He took care of her out of pitty. When she grows up she realize he is not her father and falls in love with him. It is not wrong in this case.
It’s still very wrong when you raise someone as your kid also she is legally adopted he did it out of care for his best friend as a promise and do you see that age gap this is still not legal not in age but sweet home Alabama way your messed up for trying to protect this stuff
It is VERY wrong LMAO
I garauntee that most of the people complaining about the relationahip dont keep the same energy about step sister relationships in these manga.

So... how did Azusa die ?? I get that the guy got in an bike accident, so did she kill herself?
She probably did because she couldn't handle the pressure of raising her daughter all alone and missed Yamato so much.
What is the name? I looked for it with the one that appears in the title and it doesn't appear, please help
I also want to know. this youtuber sucks. He or she could have at least left the title in the description of the video or comment section 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Thank you I enjoyed it really, and I agree because they're not blood related of anything, its rare true love they've felt
Wow! Bro pre ordered after reading Usagi drop.
Glad somebody knows the template for this particular story. Wish these retellings could get the same wholesome upgrades the anime did though
