Well, I had the same for me from my high school year. A few kids that were hungry so I gave them some food. But I never really expected to be paid in return so it was all good.

Man she might be perfect like she’s both an energetic personality, funny, entertaining, cute, hella good expression (good shit animators) and is really cheeky with the shit she does and damn is it amazing, but ngl im honestly so happy that i found this while the anime is still underrated cause the light novel has been out for years man but the manga and anime are pretty fresh and the anime came out this season so its still really new but the story man i alr love it, found it through the manga then got to vol3 of the ln alr and caught up to the anime, the quality story and everything is just great, its funny, cute, and has good world building i love it everything feels alive in it because if you combine an already amazing manga with an amazing team like a-1 then you’ll get something thats anime movie quality

You know at first I thought a $25 wouldn’t be too hard to pay back then I remembered she’s a kid who probably only gets maybe $5~10 for a weekly allowance. Yeah, it ain’t a lot of money but for a kid who probably doesn’t work having that much cash on hand is hard to achieve without a good bit of saving

I’ve no clue what the general costs of goods and services are in Japan so I have to contextualize her debt with USD to gauge just how much it would be. Yes, I understand that purchasing power between Japanese Yen and the US dollar aren’t the same, but since Japan is a developed country I figured the differences in costs shouldn’t be that large. Certainly not the hundred times difference between the Yen and whatever legal tender you’re using

3617 yens seems to be very cheap after converting into USD. But you should know that currently, yen is very low and for japanese people, USD is too high and they don't really want to visit the USA right now because life cost would be too expensive.
Moreover, the purchasing power and pricing are different in Japan. Food in Japan is cheap ACCORDING TO western people. Don't be biaised.
I don't know what your family's habit is, but in some (especially in Japan) parents give pocket money weekly or monthly for their daily expenses (clothes, food, gacha game,...) to have fun. Some kids will save money for months to buy a video game console and this is the way it works. I think that most american kids would directly ask their parents to buy something. It would a bit shameful for some kids to ask directly.
Plus Anna is a gourmet, a food lover that can spend a lot of money to eat delicious food.
And Nukumizu is a weirdo who wants every single yen back.
That's why Anna can't pay Nukumizu back directly.
Also don't say it's because Anna is a kid, she's a teenager. She CAN manage her own money (>kids).

I was always told that food was cheap in Japan. Like in Europe, it's almost impossible to find filling full meals under 5 euros (roughly 800 yens).
As a tall person living in a high life cost city like Paris, I can't be satisfied with food under 16 euros.

- yep, you can't find anything to eat in Europe for less than 12/portion nowadays except kebabs/chicken noodles
- I'm around 180cm and a little chubby and never went for expensive meals while in Japan, would get enough food for around 10 euros (usually more cause beer was really expensive for some reason). There was someeeeee places where you could find food for 6-7 but the portions weren't that big
