      Oh my goodness have I enjoyed this video. Visiting this vid after a moment to head back to 5BF email from 7th June. Feedback from me: Niiice place!! The organisation & use of space is so 🤌. I just ran an Epsom salt bath ahead of watching this now and it also takes about 15mins, I also enjoy iced water when in a hot bath.
      As a final note: there’s a gorgeous ryokan in Nara with a private bath in the room overlooking a large pond. They have an onsen also and an amazing 16 course traditional menu… Should you be interested in going there, I would personally very much like to go again! Young-ish single woman here being bold (trust me, I’m not insane, just very very brave. I can understand if this does come across as crazy, no offence taken🤍).

  • @ArchivingClownWorld
    @ArchivingClownWorld 5 лет назад +195

    "I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion. There is an idea of a Tim Ferriss, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me. Only an entity, something illusory."

    Here's my routine - I put the little one to bed and answer a lot of questions about monsters and why they ARE NOT real and that it is TIME to GO TO SLEEP. Then, I have a HUGE Martini, followed by a glass of red - plus between one and two dinners. Then I move to a calming area of the house called 'infront-of-the-TV-or-Mac" where I watch a bunch of crap and videos of people with perfect lives. Then I routinely wonder why I have put weight on, before I go to bed with, occasionally, indigestion.

      Ha, I was just thinking “Ok, so Tim clearly doesn’t have kids.”
      My evening routine is:
      - read a story to the eldest whilst the younger twins cause havoc in the other room
      - if the twins are still awake after I’m done settling the eldest, I may have to help with settling them
      - go downstairs and clear up kitchen from dinner
      - get bags, clothes, shoes, and (depending on the day) packed lunches ready for tomorrow
      - go upstairs
      - brush teeth
      - pray to god that my blood sugar doesn’t drop just as I’m drifting off to sleep (type 1 diabetic here, and that’s happening frequently at the moment. I’d adjust pump settings, but I just haven’t got round to it yet)
      - fall asleep utterly exhausted (I don’t have trouble falling asleep surprisingly)
      - wake up at midnight to do the midnight pee run with the eldest
      - potentially get woken up twice more overnight (me and the missus take it in turns as to who gets a full nights sleep) for more pees (albeit from the twins this time)
      - wake up at 5am with the twins and start the day wishing I could bring myself to set the alarm for 4:30am so I could have 10 mins to meditate in peace, and have a quiet coffee
      Just to add here, I’d rather leave the missus asleep, as she seems to need it more than me

      Most people have high adrenaline and cortisol. Particularly the low carb club that thrives in this bulletproof/tim ferris/paleo age.
      Honey restores liver glycagen rapidly and the acidity of the ACV calms the system and acidifies that highly alkaline kale shake drinkers blood.
      Both lower stress.
      The Liver glycagen provides energy throughout the night so you don't wake up starving for glucose, like the low carb crowd does.
      Better yet. Do 4 TBS of raw honey, Sea salt teaspoon, ACV. Talk about passing out.
      If u really wanna sleep eat half a pint of hagendazz icecream. Sugar/cream will knock you the fk out.

      He's organized but like I said in a comment here this is not duplicatable to probably 90% of the people that asked the question of his evening routine. The question is why do people want to know so much? It's not going to help them work 4 hours a week and become multimillionaires. Great tips but I hope people don't go, "Oh I MUST do exactly that to become successful!" While they're living in Chicago and make $9.00 an hour.

    • @Mrich775
      @Mrich775 7 лет назад +4

      As you said, money does not correlate, so thus something expensive should have just as much of a place as something free, as it is the feeling gained from it, not the money expended.

    • @heladar
      @heladar 7 лет назад +3

      Colin Richard how can you make your opinion universal? For me money does correlate. My passion are all kinds of things that drive fly swim etc and the more speed and the crazier I can go around corners l, drift etc the more Dopamin is released and the happier I am. Fast cars are expensive, fast boats are expensive so are planes helicopters quads, the license for participating in official races etc.
      For some things your argument might be true but as I said not necessarily for everyone and in every case.

Marriage is not a vocation for all by any means: bringing religion into it ' better to marry than burn' brings a lot of people into it; the primary reason for it is to raise children in a loving intact family not to indulge appetites; some can see this ahead of time(?) who knows.... in any case am female.

      You're similar to the attractive girls who complain about harassment (aka "creepers" saying hello to you). In other words, you actually love the attention, but it's apparent you might speak against it so much so that you can brag about the attention by pretending you hate it. How does this relate to marriage, you might ask? You pretend it's a "team" thing yet in reality you just can't stand yourself enough to be alone and you will settle for that white picket fence and man or woman that will just do and you don't mind banging on a regular basis.

      Like a 200gal tub! “Takes 15 minutes to fill.” In Japan they keep the water for several days and reheat it from underneath but since he can’t do that, he’s draining the water.

    The first 3 days I tried this I only had to get up in the night 3 times so I didn't piss myself. But since then it's been better.

    Yummy! I have loved both that tea and quality honey for years. Can't get anyone to even try the tea despite its deliciousness. :) Honey + vinegar is one version of an old New England tonic called "switchel" that Dr. D.C. Jarvis (1881 - 1966) recommended. One potential caveat is circadian rhythm disruption, depending on the honey dose and lateness. Prof. Bill Lagakos would know more about this than me. My hunch is that consumption during daylight hours would be better, but maybe a small dose doesn't matter for most.

    Thanks for the tour and nightly ritual! I'm going to try the honey+tea+apple cider vinegar for sure. I have a question about the insomnia you've experienced. Was it difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep? I have no problems falling asleep, but my insomnia manifests as waking up one or two hours before I've set my alarm and not being able to fall back to sleep. Was your's a similar experience, or did you only have trouble falling asleep?

    Tim!!!! I can't take this anymore!!! What the hell is going on in your head??? There are soooo many aspects of my life I want to enhance... Where to start! Besides your morning routine (eating, washing, etc) and evening routine (preparing for rest, etc), how do you manage "the rest", ie working on financial, personal, experimental, relational, etc, etc .... Knowing how you are, there must be an "systematic approach" to all this. For my part, I want it all... but feeling overwhelmed and not knowing where to start... THANKS IN ADVANCE! By the way, have bought your books... and can't wait to buy your new book Tools for Titans...

    Hey Tim, just wanted to say I'm a big fan you in general, but moreover (listen to the podcast for about 8 hours a day when I'm working) of these new style videos you are making, particularly the routine related ones. If you life continues to allow for it I'd love for you to make more of these with any kind of regular frequency!
