her and james spader in white palace was interesting casting... they look so much alike like could be siblings. it still works though with them as a couple and i think it comes down to their chemistry. their chemistry was electric!
i like how susan defends the movie as more than older woman, younger man situation b/c as a fan of the movie i can tell you it is much more... it is very much about class distinction... she feels she is not good enough for him especially once she meets his yuppie /affluent family. she is fiesty and lets him know exactly how she feels... he is drawn to that and like she says he wants to fit into her world somehow as well. there is quite a few layers to the movie.

I think she was right about the key light being too high and she was completely ignored. Interesting.
