The UK going through the same issue with a shortage. The pandemic and having teladoc doubled the amount of users. Many of the people getting the prescription, don't need it.
The problem is that millions of people who don’t really have adhd have been prescribed this medication. For those that do, amphetamines actually offset an overactive central nervous system. We aren’t “getting high” as many assume- quite the opposite.
Or just maybe people who have been misdiagnosed are finally getting the help they need and the people who run the show have us pointing fingers at each other instead of those responsible. Take for instance women who have been under-diagnosed for years now because they present with different symptoms or are more likely to get shrugged off by doctors. This journal states that fewer than 20% of people meeting the criteria for ADHD diagnosis actually get diagnosed: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9884156/ It's genuinely hard for me to believe that this shortage isn't manufactured by the original manufacturers of these drugs having one final swing at maintaining market dominance. If they collaborate with government agencies to regulate the hell out of new generic manufacturers, that leaves them with a continuation of their monopoly. It's all too convenient to not be strategy. The generics that they (Takeda in the case of Vyvanse) spent years fighting against get approved and instantly there's a shortage of their supply. But sure, blame other people with ADHD trying to survive
We don't know who's acting or who is not anymore, but we are not stupid can you just prescribed the stuff? Because a simple blood test or urine test improve it, but we should hold the urine tests at least in our hands until the results come forward, because if we don't hold the test in our hands, we can easily say that the system is just going with a false positive, yes, that is totally possible and I at least am not dumb enough to understand that

Where are you getting this statistic from?

This woman needs something to help her talk.
2:17. We're the only system that "works" this way and clearly the system isn't working (i.e. the opioid epidemic)

This senator sounds drunk. Wtf
He is high on oxy's
Import it from China.
I couldn't imagine having to need amphetamines to function.
You apparently have a limited imagination.
You don't have ADHD.
It’s a serious problem that is so misunderstood
Sad state of affairs, innit. Pharmaceutical junkies everywhere
no one with adhd "needs" amphetamine to function, but to fit into and keep yup with neurotypicals, we need it
