- Опубликовано: 11 авг 2024
- New Album, Phantoma, Out May 10, 2024.
Order here: lnk.to/UTA-Phantoma
Directed by Danny Gayfer and Adam Junio at RuneGate Studio.
Created in Unreal Engine 5 and animated in Stable Diffusion with AI models trained on the licensed artwork of a single artist.
Starring Brittney Slayes, Scott Buchanan, Grant Truesdell, Andrew Kingsley, Nick Miller, Danny Gayfer and Adam Junio.
Supported by Creative BC and the Province of British Columbia.
UNLEASH THE ARCHERS says about "Green & Glass":
"We struggled for a while to decide which song would lead the way for this record, and in the end chose 'Green & Glass' because it is the song that inspired the cover artwork, but also because it doesn't give too much away about the concept behind the album. We wanted nothing more than to be able to create a fully cinematic retelling of the story through our music videos, and were so stoked when the boys at RuneGate Studio expressed an interest in learning how to use Stable Diffusion to make our dreams come true! They trained the model on the work of Bo Bradshaw, which gives it a beautifully unique animation style; we got to bring his magnificent t-shirt artwork to life!"

I honestly cant get enough of the one part early in the song, talking about how beautiful it was before the earth changed, and the music starts to get heaviee, and during the line "they ruined..." But stops short before finishing the sentence and it goes back to being "mesmerized in a dream". Love how they did that
That's my favourite part too!! It works so well
That’s such a creative way to write that huh, they nailed the absolute fuck out of it
Yup, the first pre-chorus buildup that abruptly cuts back into the verses... then it builds into the full chorus the next time. This song is magical for many reasons.
HER VOICE IS SO DAMN GOOD!!
I am in LOVE with the female cyborg in this video! If only. This song AND video are a masterpiece. I cannot believe some ppl are actually COMPLAINING about it.
Hell yeah! She is new metal queen!!! 😍👍🤘🔥
Found UTA about 4 years ago. Brittany has an amazing voice and does to metal what needs to be done, but it doesn't stop there. The whole ensemble is just amazing. I appreciate alot of metal, but few metal bands make me feel like I'm flying. UTA is up there with Iron Maiden for me.
Anyone else think Brittney's voice is slightly too quiet in this song?
@@bobbybobman3073 Yes it is. 🙏
5:00 Leave it to a Canadian robot to track down a robot enforcer wearing snowmobile goggles.
Post-apocalyptic cyborg visits the Emerald City? OK, I'm in.
For an AI video, this is dope af.
OZ meets MaD Max...hell yeah brother!
@@raifsevrence there is no ai here. those who would surrender their artistic prose to a ghost in a machine, are destined to deliberate to their demise. i would suggest that you stop parroting AI at every turn, and think for yourself, as UTA has done here. you embarrass yourself.
@@paulm8908 ...did you read the description or the disclaimer at the beginning? they said it themselves that it is AI, everything but the environments were animated in stable diffusion
@@paulm8908 This sounds like exactly what I'd expect to hear from an adolescent Skynet with a severe case of Dunning-Kruger.
The more I hear the song, the more I perceive the melancholic feel of it .... Bravo!
Let's go UTA! Apex and Abyss were masterpieces imo. Can't wait to hear this album.
If this and Ghosts in the Mist are representative of the rest of the album then I gotta say I might even like this one more than the last two, and I really thought they'd done their best already. Not saying I thought they'd fall off, but I wasn't expecting this to be so unbelievably captivating...
@@BootyGoblinesque Amen to that!
what UTA album was not a masterpiece? im tracking with the two you mentioned, but its allllll good.
I got the collector's edition of the album with the storybook and it makes this video and the album so much better. They could literally have done an entire trilogy of albums to try and cram all the stuff in there. Phantoma and Mach gaining sentience and bodies to seek out the Collective, Quora's insanity, Phantoma raising a small army of droids... the final confrontation between Phantoma and Quora is also pretty satisfying.
The story itself is written with the quality of fan-fiction, but the ideas behind it are really solid and I hope UtA explores this theme more.
I love UTA!. They have done so many beautiful songs like "Northwest Passage" and "Awakening" just to mention a few. And now they did it again! "Green and glass" is amazing! Brittney's voice is like always clear as ice and smooth as silk and yet strong as steel. And that put together with those incredible musicians cannot possibly go wrong!
Found this band a few years back. After the pandemic. They played in Boston and I got to meet them backstage. Not only is this band incredible, so are the people. I was so psyched to hear this. Thanks for making year already.
I found out about them on a random RUclips click when apex came out. Been a huge fan since. Love the musicianship. Can't wait till they tour the East Coast
All of pasteur methodology is false, there are no "infectious" diseases other than beliefs. Everything significant is nutrition, behaviour, environmental toxicity, stressors. Believe that stupid garbage at your peril. All of frma is worthless.
If you try to perpetuate those sort of idiot beliefs you will be very unhappy.
Just interpret that correctly and add dot aytch tea em el
Now you gotta ask yourself, who deleted my comments, youtube...or?
very nice! I can't wait to hear it within the context of the rest of the album. some of the melodic choices that Brittany has made on the vocal track are especially gorgeous...
what this guy said
I'm going to see them and Powerwolf live for the first time in August
Will be my first time for UTA which is honestly why I really went to see this tour. But I saw Powerwolf last year for my first time, and they absolutely killed it. One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen.
I'm seeing them in NZ in June, first time they've been here, can't wait! Wish Powerwolf would come too though, definitely jealous of that.
You will all love them live! Saw them pre-pandemic in Edmonton AB. Awesome show :)
Right on! I'm seeing both for the first time in September
Two bands with no full-time bass player. Weird coincidence.
Had the song repeating in my head at work all day. Finally off and listening to it AGAIN for the 40th time lmao
Brittney voice is getting better and better!
I love the story telling aspect of Unleash the Archers' music.
Brittney Slayes is one of the best writers and vocalists in not just the metal scene but all of music today!
This could be the future, if we quit fighting over religions, politics, and races.
The new album is supposed to also be a concept album
Need more literature majors in bands.
I agree!
The way he voice blend into the electric Halfway thru is so nice. Whole song is fantastic! Great job UTA
I am so pumped for the rest of the album. What a nice surprise waking up to a new UTA video drop. Love the aesthetics of the video. The song is great, too. I'm hopeful for some heavier songs like we've had in the past. Really miss the brutal stuff. Keep it up guys, love your music.
For everyone saying this isn't as good/powerful as Abyss, have you heard Through Stars? Carry The Flame? Afterlife? I feel like Green And Glass is like one of those songs from Abyss. Wait until the FULL RELEASE to cast your judgement.
through stars is my favorite track on abyss man...
Through stars is legendary@@theminboss
I agree composition wise this song is very good. My biggest gripe is the mix tho. The guitars and music in general seem a little bit too far back in the mix compared to Brittneys vocals. It's Power Metal I want to be punched in the face with the sound but these are just my initial thoughts. Other than that it's a solid song and I'm glad they're finally putting out new stuff again.
Through Stars is much much better than this. Not even close.
Agree about waiting for the full release, feel like this song needs context.
Among the best of metal bands, and lead singers.
0:54 - Like, wth! That is just so good. I can't even decipher why it sounds so different and good. Wow.
Lol Kingsley as a cartoon is exactly what I needed this evening. From your first band(can’t remember the name but definitely not Horde of Anachron) to November Witch to Uta. You’re a beauty bud.
So awesome that you licensed the art work instead of stealing from other artists. Mad respect.
Ever since i discovered this band a year ago, I find out this song came out recently. is it wrong that ive listened this song about 15 times alrdy? i cant wait for the album in May and then see them /w powerwolf in August in LA. U ROCK UTA!!!!
Yet another UTA song that is sheer perfection. Love the video, helps with the upcoming storyline. Looking very much forward to the album.
The more and more you listen to this album in order the story becomes more and more understandable and it's fuckin Apex album writing epic 🤘💪 ☺️
So glad to have you back in my life!
Thank you!
Knowing UTA theres a story here, and this one song is just part of it. It will be cool to see just how much harder it hits as part of the full album.
Dear UTA,
Thank you for being awesome. That is all.
Another epic battle is coming guys, another battle... I love you UTA!
I love it. Nothing else to say... perfect!
so excited. i had no idea this was coming but now i can't wait. this is kinda corny but...... i might... have a ... FAVORITE BAND
I wish this was a movie series with their music as the sound track.
So many Heavy Metal vibes in this Im craving a "Heavy Metal 3000" movie! Brittney as the new "Julie"? UTA is canadian so it's only fitting that this actually happens!
dear unleash the archers. i am so happy you guys are still making music. keep em coming, we'll keeping supporting!
Damn another banger.
This albums gonna be so dope dude
Everything you guys put together is top notch.
thats very greatest masterpiece unleash the archers phantoma album. I love unleash the archers. thanks unleash the archers the true power metal.
This song doesn't grab me like all of the songs in Abyss did - hope it grows on me and the rest of the album is even better!
Hard to top Abyss. I’m just hoping it’s on par or at least close.
Same here. The mix seems off as well and the video certainly doesn't help. It's not a bad metal song but it's not up to the standard I have come to expect from archers after apex.
Britney's voics sound exquisite on this track. Especially the verse's. She's always been really good but damn. Floor Jansen might be dethroned.
Why not both? I would never want to pick between these two.
@@cobrala4554agreed. Brittany stood in for Floor on a recent Ayreon track. Probably one of the few who could. Something about those tall, dark-haired women I guess 😊
@@davidderricott3968she didn’t stand in. That song was written specifically for her.
Awesome new song!!! UTA and Brittney never fails!!! 👊👍🤘🔥
See you next summer in Laukaa!!! 😍👍🤘🔥
Best voice on the planet
Excited to see new UTA music!
About time I got a new Archers record I can drive into the ground!
This video is sick af and song is another banger!
I feel like I've been waiting forever for the new album! Can't wait!!
As my toddler says: MORE!
Looking forward to your own tour in Canada, don't forget Quebec City ! Much love from across the country.
The concept reminds me of a story and artwork from 48 years ago. Rush 2112, the story of 2112 and a video that has been done to that story reminds me of this with the futuristic theme. This band is great, loved Brittany’s interview with Elizabeth on The Charismatic Voice.
Listen to her voice. Good god
I guess you could say Brittany SLAYS it again!!!! I'll walk myself out
Need more of the album now ❤
Pre-ordered the album the moment I heard about it. Then heard this song and I can't wait to get the whole thing. If this song is just the teaser for the rest of the album, that thing can't get here fast enough.
Very interesting! Can’t wait to see UTA with Powerwolf back in Montreal in September.
god damn UTA is killing it again and again stoked for this!
DUDE! This Video is so AWESOME that I stopped what I was doing just to focus on it!
To 'Unleash the Archer's':
You guys are the most amazing band I've ever found!
I discovered you guys back when "Apex" was new and "Time Stands Still" was gaining serious traction, let alone the Awesomeness of "Demons of the Astrowaste"; I just had to have more of your AWESOME music! Then came "Abyss" which blew me away!
Then outta the blue: "BOOM!"
Phantoma!?!
I bought a copy as soon as I could, before I ever even saw these songs on RUclips; seeing the videos with the music has only enhanced the experience!
You guys ROCK!
🤘😆
The Archers hitting us with another banger.
UTA!!!!! 💪💪💪💪💪
The AI art being unable to maintain a consistent drawing of her hairline is fucking hilarious.
Perhaps, that is her hairline's natural being.
Eyes, nose… nothing is consistent :D
That's called temporal coherence and it will only get better and better :)
@@Un4GivNX A real artist would have gotten it correct in the now.
"Temporal coherence", tech bros had to invent a terminology for "This shit is bad at maintaining basic artistic consistency"
@@Songofwyrd lmao, soon enough, all video will be perfectly generated on the fly
This song is amazing. Cant wait to hear the rest of the Album.
Epic AF! Such a cool vision and inspiring fusion of media and the birth of this new digital evolution!
Awesome song with a nice blend of melodic and heavy elements. The video was incredible and it makes me wonder if AI is the end of creativity or a new age of it!
Now I'm well and truly hyped for the album!
I can't wait to hear the full album. UTA has been in my top 3 bands now for years.
Love you, UTA. Come to Jacksonville, FL PLEASE!
Very cool. VERY Heavy Metal, by that, I mean reminiscent in way of style, artwork, and story of the Tarna Saga in the 1981 feature length Heavy Metal animated movie. Might not have been the plan, but it brought me back to my childhood for a few minutes. Thank you.
It has a very Roto-scope visual style to it, which really hits the nail on the head.
Came here to say that!
Don't insult Heavy Metal movie like that.
@@Ziomaletto that’s where the video took me, don’t be such a hater.
They're back! Rock on my fellow Canucks! Rock on! Love the new song. I'm just hoping for a Vancouver concert now.
As am I. Especially if they got funding from the BC government ❤
@@shadowknowsjoThey should. They were banned from playing for 3 years.

Amazing as always. I've been streaming this for days on my music service, had no idea there was a video! lol
Love it, can't wait. Pre-ordered.
This is gonna be another great concept album.
fantastic video, fantastic song. Ace
I love this band!
Such a great song and it sticks in your head. It just keeps sounding better and better every time i listen to it.
Damn, they're fucking great.
This is brilliant
This was fantastic, I hope there is a whole concept album to go with it!
This bodes amazingly well for the new album! See you in September!
great to see and amazing tune!!!
Love this!
Loved this band for a long time for a reason
Whelp another UtA song I have to listen to a million times.
Got serious "Heavy Metal" vibes from the video. Very cool. Got my copy on preorder!
Props to the band for trying to do AI the right way, paying an artist to use their work. I'm hopeful we'll see more of this, and less of the current status quo.
Hard agree. Was kind of bummed to see AI originally until I saw the initial message. Seems like a good compromise for someone with more limited means to create music videos.
Agreed, and I like how they made the inherent inconsistencies in current AI video work so well in this video.
I'm assuming the artist was involved and not just paid to be replaced by AI. The video looks good and I'm sure AI simplifies the process but I could do without the AI glitchyness. I don't think it adds anything and will only be remembered as "...because that was the style at the time".
Incorrect. Delve deeper and not just to where you feel comfortable. It definitely stole art from outside the dataset they claimed to have used.
@@themercenaryartist Could you provide a source or anything?
brittany has an absolutely beautiful range and i don't think their are too many power metal bands sound like this with such really strong positive elements of human empowerment and they are quite gifted musicians
I weep at this band's brilliance.
This is the correct way to do it if you are opting for AI imaging, use a set of images that you have paid for the rights to do so. If the artist consents and is compensated, no harm no foul. It's when people's work is taken without consent or compensation and used for AI imaging, then it becomes theft.
The video still uses stolen art, unfortunately
"Created in Unreal Engine 5 and animated in Stable Diffusion with AI models trained on the licensed artwork of Bo Bradshaw. "
so no, the art wasn't stolen, it was licensed so the artist was paid for his work and is apparantly designing merch as well.
@@nomnomgoblin8901 And where did those models come from by chance?
100%
@@ellipsis...1986 Looks like rotoscoped, so more than likely it's the band members themselves greenscreened and the AI imaging used afterwards. They still paid for the license to use the artwork of Bo Bradshaw.
This is far from them just using AI for free like in 99% of cases.
It’s been too long since they released new music!
one of the nicest, hardest working bands out there. watching them at the buddha was always a treat
Love this band! Keep going UTA!!!!😎🎯🎶🎶🎶
The song is produced perfectly
Using AI to make the video for this song, about "robot kind" and folly of man kind, was just the cherry on the top. Incredible song !
They always absolutely kill it.
before I saw this video, I was a fan. now I'm a BIG FAN.
Shes literally bringing the band back together. LOL. I loved it; it kind of reminds me of the first Heavy Metal Movie.
The first new UTA tune I've heard for absolute yonks - since that one done with the video on a budget of 50p because they'd spent all of Napalm's advance on previous vids :D But I digress - it's the music that counts. So the theme's the well-worn Silent Running post-eco-apocalypse stuff - but it's well done, the lyrics are good. Musically it's the band sticking to what they do best, ploughing the Power Metal furrow, but it's VERY well done. Soaring double-tracked vocals and harmonies with a great singalong chorus, a fabulous melody, superlative musicianship and arrangements, and top-notch crystal clear production. So no surprises but a fab song, an absolute must for the PM playlist. And finally I'm never here for the video, but I loved the graphic novel backing the music.
My Score: Excellent 5*
Agreed, this song is really good but it's not breaking any new grounds for the band - nothing wrong with that on its face, especially for a first single, but I really hope we don't just get Abyss 2. I'm glad the band is doing their due dilligence to make sure the AI aspects of the album are done ethically!
To that lady that revived those 4...go get them! Lol.
YOOOO i just noticed this, new album omg!
Reminds me of the movie Heavy Metal from back in the day
YES! EXACTLY THIS! IN THE BEST OF WAYS!
As usual amazing soundscapes with brilliant story-driven music video put together.
This is a band which cares about what gets put out under their brand to thier fans.
Hope you'll come back to Toronto soon
Most metal bands do.
>This is a band which cares about what gets put out under their brand to thier fans.
If they did, they wouldn't resort to using AI art. The fact that they get away with it, only proves that fans will be fine with any slop as long as the [BAND] logo is on it.
Cool video! Look forward to the new UTA album!
If this is already my favorite track by them.. I can't wait to hear the rest.
Long time since I got chills like this, her voice is haunting perfection. Music is tops as well.
