It looks so delicious! I would use olive oil or vegan butter instead of the animal-based butter as I don't consume animal products... It's an easy recipe.
We make similar stuff in India,we call it paratha.Instead of all purpose flour we can use wheat flour(healthier version).Stuffing can range from fenugreek leaves,parsley,potatoes,onion,cauliflower,cottage cheese,Radish,one of these or any combination like potatoes,onions & fenugreek or cottage cheese & fenugreek leaves etc add Indian spices like chilli powder, coriander powder,turmeric, garam masala & salt.After baking bread, add butter on top of & eat it with pickle or have it with yogurt & pickle.It's very very tasty.
We Indians make Moglaai parotha in almost same process.We use bitten eggs with chopped onion, coriander leaves, green chillies,salt, pepper and other spices as stuffing.Then we fold and fry the parotha similarly.Very delecious and popular snacks for us.

I used already made phyllo dough, drizzle butter each layer, laid my filling in, folded over, cooked as shown, made a bunch of them, fast and delicious!

Great recipe - easy to do. Impressive dough rolling skills. :) I thought the hardest thing would be rolling the dough - but it was easy (not a perfect circle but that made no difference because - hey guys - you actually fold it!) I am amazed and disappointed by the comments from my Korean sisters ... This is not remotely like 만두 .. why would you compare? And although I love 파전, this is lighter and something different for us to eat. But, of course, the younger generations don't even prepare their own 김치 and 반찬. So I doubt they actually tried this recipe before they dismissed it. It's a pity that some people are so insular that they don't try anything much outside Korean food ... and yet are not so traditional that they prepare their own 된장, 고추장, 기타... not even their own 김치. With this attitude, how can we have international harmony?
Amazing rolling technique. I must try with a broomstick or smaller. Amazing how it turns as it is rolled. Better than a rolling pin to roll out thin. Fantastic, from Lyn in New Zealand.
