The Optare name is still used on diesel buses, the Switch name is used on electric buses and vans. Nice to see some big firms getting some Optares, they usually go to other manufacturers because of the long wait to receive the orders with them. I've been in one of these parked at the Barry Festival of Transport and it looked very nice inside!

Yes, this is true, Switch Mobility is the electric division of Optare, and their parent company is Ashok Leyland of India..
Sounds smooth and nice to see Allison gearbox over voith
They should have gone with the six speed gearbox tho
Best modern diesel buses out there imo! Not that there’s much competition at this point…
Whats the top speed on these?
Don't know, Optares are usually limited to 95km/h (59mph) from the factory, I'm pretty sure 90km/h (56mph) is the Stagecoach standard.
