- Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail, on this weeks episode you will find us anchored in the beautiful island of Maupiti, roughly 30 miles from Bora Bora. Here, we sit back and reset ourselves while reflecting on the last couple years we have spent here in French Polynesia.
Just before we leave, we enjoy one more final day in Maupiti and climb to what we have been told as the most beautiful hike in all of French Polynesia. We prepare the boat for a rough departure out of the pass and take some supplies to a neighboring island which includes one of the locals who will be returning his island to his family of Maupiha'a.
Thanks for watching the Adventures of WE!

What a great story, what a great thing to do. And as we all know, LOCAL KNOWLEDGE is always worthwhile. Thanks for this video
That view on your hike was incredible, great photography! And good karma on helping that local family.
Nothing to say but fabulous! What a view.
Thank you so much for watching and your comment!
This was awesome. That view at the top of that hike was truly something… Erica described it so perfectly… a gem 💎.
OMG! What a view! Thanks for sharing. You guys are my favorite channel.
WoW, WoW and double Wow! Such a groovy episode. The view at the end of your mountain climb, spectacular. Your exit with islander dad through the wild waves was out of control. Thanks so much for taking me along.
Cutting a hole in your boat has always got to be nerve-wracking!!! Great job with the new windows install!!!
Love you guys! Safe travels. ❤
Incredible view from the top of Maupiti. Thanks for sharing.
It was a short but sweet hike and the views were so stunning!
Always the best! Love and respect to you both. Spent most of my free time as a young man hiking the southern Appalachian Mountains. Loved the views. It was the downhill that made me have to stop as I aged.
Yes local knowledge accounts for a lot. Enjoyed you're video cheers n beers guys Marty Australia
Oh my god! What an amazing hike you guys!
Geez the waves up on the windows...!!! Crazy!
Yeah that was the biggest wave we have ever taken!
That was a close one, great to have a local on board when such passages have to been taken.
Thank you. Your vids get better all the time.
You guys are so dedicated to your craft. I would have never gone ahead and come back just to get the shot of you both making it to the top together. Good job. ❤️
We Sail Uber 👍🏻🌊🤩
Exceptional episode!!!
Another great edisode!
Love how you make choices that share with and help others. What a lovely gesture to lend a hand. The world needs more people that create the sense of community like you guys do. Well done, and keep up your mission of what appears to also be ambassadors of the sea. PS. Way to keep calm and carry on through the pass whew and best hike view ever 👍
Erica, you're RIGHT to be nervous in passes! I get nervous whenever I'm within 50nm of land!
Oh my goodness, bloody hell that was insane. As Rick Flair would say, "Wooo!" for Marcelo and his piloting skills and Cpt. Warren on sailing through that pass. A beer or two would be well earned and deserved.
French Polynesia doesn’t seem to want to let you go so easily. The love must be mutual
We think so! It has been a hard transition out of there!
Loved again ! ❤
Absolutely amazing
What a crazy pass, I bet the "pucker factor" was at 10!! Great team work with all 3 of you, Marcelo calling out information and directions, Erica translating it, with Capt Warren taking it all in and mixing it with his own skill and observations... Looks like that upcoming feast made it all worth while!
That gave me the feeling like I was falling, in my stomach, when the drone flew over you. Very very cool. Thanks
Oh yes, I did too when we got to the tippy top and looked down!
First off I need to apologize for my rather unfair comment I made last week about your calling Brian and Kaz , Delos. Your reply was admirable!
I've followed you two from day one , straight up. This week's episode with its varied content I particularly enjoyed . It's ALWAYS enjoyable when you interact with the locals , not to mention that you two are representing all of the positive aspects of cruisers by adhering to your morals and values and demonstrating that selflessness does occur in your community.
Stellar job, keep up the great work, and thank you for making my day better !
Hey thank you and no need to apologize for the comment. For the longest time while we were in the Caribbean learning the sailing lifestyle, it was actually hard for us to remember the names of the people but easy to recall exactly who we were talking about when we mentioned the boat name to each other. The boat becomes a part of the sailor the longer you live aboard I believe. It's more than just a boat and a name it really just becomes you! Thanks for your comment again! We are glad you enjoyed this episode and it was such a pleasure to give back to the locals as they have shown us so much generosity during our time here!
Great content!! Thanks for sharing.
Such an amazing view on top of Maupiti! You captured everything perfectly.
Always keep power going and straight into waves. Think surfing. If you get sideways, it's over.
Wow what a view from the top of the atol/island! Nice you had Marsol with you. Love WEndsays!
Crazy ! Full respect for the pass, even behind the screen, it was stressfull 😅
Fast see Erika flying on wing, try to be more straight upon the board/foil, the more you have the body towards the outside, the more the fly is unpresictible and difficult ;)
Thanks again for making dreams come from my screen ❤ you re great you 2 !
Almost 50K!
Never made it there!! gives me a reason to sail back to FP!
I think you must! So much beauty in these islands!
@@WEsail I will one day the boat need SOO MUCH $$$ These days
Hike my backside that was climbing a mountain. Beers needed after so called hike. Beers also needed after that pass, like you say local now how not so shore with those waves you would have got that in time. Close call more beers. HAHAHA.
good job, awesome video
I'd say that's an 8 on the pucker factor for that pass. Been there done that locally here in NC🥵. Learning to read an inlet before going is paramount. Hard to read one from the outside looking in. Marsol was a valuable part, as well as the translator.
So invaluable for us, and no doubt about the pucker factor! It was pinched tightly! Scary moments no doubt
Holy Forking Shirt! That was a pass. Gives you a little bit more on what Va and her crew are capable of.
Cheers to your patience Warren, because I would have told everyone to STFU. In situations where you need to focus, the last thing you need is everyone yammering in your ear.
No way that episode was 25 minutes! It just flew by. Great deeds done. Bravo!
Thankyou 😊
One of your most memorable videos yet. What a hike!!! And to add to the suspense your departure was epic. Just remember all good stories start with there I was, thought I was going to die. Of course after you clean out your shorts you can just tell everyone it was just a yarn. At least that how they go in aviation. Sailing is not much different. Love you guys. ❤
Very nice 👍
Lol. We have the same issue with our front windows, only we don't have an area that we can cut out, so we are currently trying to get some screens for ours, but... if it's raining, we get water in. 😞
You climbed that in flip-flops!! love it.
He would have climbed it barefoot if I didn't have a say in it. He is better without them!
Wonderful video, I always love your
content . Your interaction is so heart warming to watch. You two are great best friends as well as spouses ! Perfect recipe for getting along .
Wow that was Amazing guys great effort 🙏💚🙃 and of course another great watch ty 😊
Thank god those engines are reliable lately. Imagine if you'd had fuel issues there!
Quite the pants browning experience on that pass! Ouch!
Looks like an awesome place! thanks for sharing.
Once the swells swing around towards the entrance, the pass entrance can become seriously dangerous and a lot of cruisers have to give Maupiti a pass or try another time. In the early 1970s the monthly copra schooner was thrown onto the reef and thirteen drowned. The diving on the outside of the perimeter reefs is spectacular, with visibility exceeding 200 feet.
As Warren would say........... WoW 😁
Beautiful, excellent video. Thank you.
❤❤❤❤❤
Warren saying ‘this gets Erica nervous…’ I look at the waves.. thinking “that would even get me nervous, does he see what we see? “ those rollers did indicate a flat sea did they? That’s like going to close behind a container.. and having a huge wave from the opposite site at the same time. A nasty passage but handled well. If you get sideways there you’d be buggered.. a good goodbye memory.
😀😀👍👍❤❤
Wow, wow, wow, wow, great video.
Great view. Beautiful place.
wow view!
Beautiful video as always. Your editing skills are way beyond the average vlogger her on RUclips.
Last month we chartered our first cat in the Mediterranean. I specifically choose a Helia 44 as a possible future boat for our own and wanted to experience it myself.
At the last moment the charter company changed that to a Lagoon but the experience was wonderfull just the same.
What I would be most interested in is an episode which would explain a bit more about the way you prepare for a long(er) leg. What and how much provisions you buy, what materials you stock. I understand that after years of sailing you can do this with your eyes closed but for me (+wife and 2 kids) this is still unchartered territory.
Warren, how's it possible to hike in flip flops? Great video!
That made me laugh when Erica you said bit more than wheel barrow, but that's ok
Don’t miss out on Fiji islands, way more and just as beautiful.
Something to look forward to!
Amazing place. You would think after 2 years he could speak French, right?
Hahaha little by little, some people can learn a language better than others and some can sail a boat out of a gnarly pass better than others!
What fell off the front mast area at 19:24. It happened so fast, it looked like a spare rope.
Oh it was our GoPro! Lucky we didn’t lose it, it fell off as I was trying to capture what we were going through and lucky it fell in the foot of the mast!
love your pearl necklace . where can I get a similar to yours?
Thank you! French Polynesia! Black pearls are their thing! I bought a bunch to make my own necklaces, but I haven't got around to doing so
You 2 have spent so much time in French Polynesia; do a book for CRUISERS. Pictures. Notes. Contacts. Do's & Don'ts.
Just a suggestion for additional income.
