That ending just... damn that hits hard. The instrumentation on this track had a slow, sombre tone to start off with but the way it lead into that outro just... wow.
@@madcattur the whole track seems to speak of war (at a point) and the heavy distaste around the way tragedy is portrayed through television. The outro features these lyrics: “I remember when I was really small The news said that When planes went overhead And how many passengers you could fit on a plane Imagine each person and where they're going, that would make me feel better That these people were just going on holiday And Seeing people Die And it's Being exposed to that much Realism” I think this might be referring to a young boy’s reaction to the way 9/11 was portrayed on television, as that relates with the rest of the track plus it brings so much more weight and impact overall. It could be referencing something else but I think that interpretation seems to work.
I remember sitting on my porch late at night chain-smoking cigarettes while listening to this song on repeat. It’s a masterpiece and hits deep in the soul
There's tight lycra 'round my hips And a sweat band that fits 'round my head We're still dance, dance, dancing today To the global groove Well the TV guide gets fatter as the days pass by And those taxis do a dance as I watch from the sky Global groove Global groove Global groove Global groove We're still tap, tap, tapping away To the global groove Watch your favourite war on TV Just before you go to sleep And then your favourite sitcom Watch the tears roll down your cheek Global groove Global groove I'm so sick and tired of dancing I'm so sick and tired of dancing I'm so sick and tired of dancing Are you sick and tired of dancing? Still tap, tap, tapping Dance, dance, dancing I remember when I was really small The news said that When planes went overhead And how many passengers you could fit on a plane Imagine each person and where they're going, that would make me feel better That these people were just going on holiday And Seeing people Die And it's Being exposed to that much Realism
Soundtracks for the blind is a beast of an album. that little interlude always haunts me. also, the ending of Boy Racers on this album hits that Surrogate 2 drone as well. the om

@Ivory_ Lagiacrus_YT lmao my ass off
I mean to be fair, the drummer is holding these rhythms while doing some wack vocals. That's pretty commendable itself lol
