Also, the video reminds me of David Byrne‘s and Brian Eno’s album cover of ‘Everything That Happens Will Happen Today‘
People laughed at me for liking the Talking Heads way back in the late '70s. But look how far they went. This sound is just as innovative. Laugh it up, fuzzballs.

@tubetardism 20/20 It has a "Fear Of Music" feel, it's indeniable ! Frankly, it sounds more like LCD Soundsystem than Talking Heads

Everyone's saying it reminds them of Talking Heads, but my first thought was B-52's (if they got into modern indie).
I saw them last night and i was thinking the same. There's a defo B-52s vibe. Vocals even sound like Fred in places. They were superb.

Haven't worked as a cleaner but I love how The Cleaner is presented as an unironic protagonist and positive figure. "Real love and real labor in this modern job."
I feel like if this song was by a less thoughtful group or came out in the 90s it would have had anti-blue collar "isn't this a pathetic job to have" vibes.

The lyrical content reminds me of the recent movie "I'm thinking of ending things". If you've seen it, you'll understand, if you haven't, go do so, it's a good one, definitely recommend it.

I was a cleaner but they told me I didn’t fill the bucket of water up properly. I also had to sweep under the shelving (it was a shop) with a brush type thing with a big ‘brush head’. Apparently I couldn’t do that properly either. Maybe cleaning’s not my game. Like the record though!
