I know next to nothing when it comes to traditional fighting games, but I love watching Max taking a new character through its paces in the garage. It make me smile watching him come up with such insane combos and movements.
I dont know what it is about HC, but I have never more constantly laughed at a character in a fighting game more then him. There is something just so infinitely funny about HC capping someone from the other side of the stage into super-wall break.
I think it's the contrast of Happy Chaos being one of the strongest and impactfull characters in the franchise, discovering magic which saved society from crumbling after technology was banned and also being the strongest magic user in the world, but then he decides to unload a gun on you looking all gangster. because it's more entertaining for him. It's a funny contrast but also a badass powermove at the same time.

@@boardguy2 Because a story is more interesting when the antagonist has the ability to counter the protagonist powers, so by making Chaos a counter to himself, they've made the mirror match interesting
@@druidt8949 I love Happy Chaos. He's such a unique character and him gameplay does a good job of conveying his personality. It's also a nice contrast of him being a playable antagonist compared to the rest of GG's cast who are mostly good guys now. Some of them do have morally gray backgrounds like Zato and Millia, but at this point they're pretty much on the good side. Happy Chaos is an exception and there aren't many characters like him in Guilty Gear which makes him stand out alot. (there is Ariels from Xrd but she's never been playable and I find Chaos to be the more interesting character) There is obviously more to his character than this, but I found this contrast worth highlighting. He is a pretty complex character.

I don't know what's doing it for me, I don't play fighting games, but Happy Chaos is really tempting me to want to play Strive. Like I can't help the feeling of looking at him and think "They made an insane character that is also insane to play" and that really hits me well.
The whole point is that it's an extraordinary man insisting on using an ordinary weapon. Having it be a magic transforming gun I feel would take away from the experience.
It's crazy how entertaining it is to hear Max practice combos and make noises to them at the same time.... It's the best stuff to have on in the background when I'm busy.
whats great about reload is that you can cancel out of it with p much anything also scapegoat is arguably his best move because its a wall (meaning it can stop heavy mob cemetery) and even if youre infront of it, itll take the hit of an attack instead of you as long as it would get hit.
The idea behind his gameplay is that he just wants to have fun considering how overpowered he is with using magic, so it's a funny contrast with him deciding to limit himself with a gun he has little experience with and just shoot you with, while mixing in some magic shenanigans. Think of it like if Beerus decided to fight you with a gun. It's pretty great characterisation through gameplay. (of course there's more to his character than this, but I found this aspect of him conveyed in the gameplay interesting to talk about)
Happy chaos is so much fun to play. He is the first character I played because I just got the game but I'm having a blast even when I'm getting absolutely destroyed.
