  • Mysore/Mysuru! Welcome to the 3rd largest city in the state of Karnataka! We have 24 hours to see as much as we can, it's super warm in the south, supposedly monsoon season but fingers crossed, we've had no rain! We explore the city by electric tuktuk, honestly one of the BEST ways to see the city, would highly recommend!

You had a guide who does not know much about importance of Mysore (but not his fault because he is just an indian but not belonging to hindu community).
The statue was MAHISHASURA (A demon) who was killed by CHAMUNDESWARI (the GODDESS inside the temple). That is why she is also known as MAHISHASURA MARDHINI (the slayer of Mahishasura). You can google or check wikepedia to know more about that.
