loved it. energy was perfect, narration was excellent. string of questions for you on how the narration came about. did you write it in pre production? did you write it at all, perhaps she wrote it? or maybe, is the narration a product of things happening organically on set? any chance it came together by accident in the edit? just trying to understand some more of your non visual approaches to commercial work.
YO THE SOUND DESIGN THOUGH
honestly most useful film channel on youtube, so excited for more from this series
thank you man! spread the word :)
I've to say the false color explanation was amazing. It's the first time I understand it all. You're great. When I'll be filmmaker, i wanna be like you!
Watching your videos helped me grow a lot, professionally and personally. I saw myself transition from a camera guy to a story teller. Thanks Mark!
Mark thank you for the continued amounts of practical information you're packing into these videos. Been keeping up with your channel since you appeared in a video with Matti. Cant wait for the rest of the series to roll out!
This is going to be an epic series. Can't wait. Great tips already
💯💯💯
This is a great video. I spent years in denial that I needed an external monitor. Finally, this year, I got one. I can 100% attest to it’s usefulness. Worth every penny! Keep up the great work, Mark.

Thanks for this information , I been shooting with out an external monitor, need to get me one now ! Looking forward to this series!
Thank you, Mark, for all these tips. I was considering to get a monitor but I was debating on the small Hd or Atomos Ninja V, but now watching this video I learned from the BM5 which I never heard of. Thanks for all this info, it always helps especially when coming from someone that has been doing this for many years. Thanks once again and keep bringing these vids. God bless
I got really inspired to start my own YT channel because of you Mark. Your tip with the IRE is really useful! Thanks for sharing dude ☺️👍🏻
Subbed! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences

Hi Mark. This is very informative and valuable video. Thank you for creating this content and most importantly for making this cinematography series . Can't wait for more cinematic oriented content. Happy creating and thanks again for making this 🔥🔥🔥.
Thank you! I cannot wait to release more content
This is great. So happy to have found your channel.
I'm so happy you found it too!!
My head bopped as soon as you turned up the music.
'Sony has decided never to do flip out LCDs'
a6400: 'Am I a joke to you?'
Hahaha. Sorry A6400. I never used you. I’m sure you’re nice.
Mark Bone Point &Shoot wx500 😂
This is a very helpful video. Thank you so much.
I haven’t shot one video yet nor do I have a camera but I’ve been watching a ton of RUclips vids on how to shoot and I have to say this is the best one I’ve seen thus far.
The fact you love power stone has earned you a whole new dimension of respect from me 👌🏾
i've been on the fence for a monitor but this just convinced me, thank you. let us know if you ever drop your LUTs, love the look of your work.
Thanks for the effort and sharing. I am a very appreciative subscriber. Thumbs up.
Man you’re a master at cinematic camera movement! I’ve been studying your docs lol to figure out how you do it. Could you please do a video on this? Would like to know how you decide on what type of movement is appropriate and whether you plan this out bedorehand etc.
+1

when you know how its done , you can no longer enjoy the moment(s) so lets not do a video on this
@@dongerramarco9617 you are not the one who makes the video lol
just dont watch it then
i love watching your videos cause you always have a different take on filmmaking :)
Thanks Naray! I try to give New insights!!
I gave a thumbs up as soon as you told us the time stamp to skip to... You’ve got my nomination for RUclipsr of the year based on that good sir!
Don’t want to waste anybody’s time!!
What movies did you see over the holidays??? (I saw: Uncut Gems, Waves, 1917... WOW WOW WOW, this year is insane for movies!)
Star Wars. Only Star Wars, but I saw it twice haha!
@@CorbanLaFon I saw Star Wars... I got to say I'm glad they've wrapped up the Jedi Universe
@@markbone Yeah, I was pretty pleased with how it ended but I'm ready for more Rogue One/The Mandalorian type stories and production.
Star Wars & the Irishman
I saw Star Wars and uncut gems. I liked both but I’ve got a ton of opinions on uncut gems
POWER STONE 2!!! Probably the game I have the most fond memories of! Glad you found that relic of gaming history
One of the best fighting games of all time. I think it's better than Smash Bro's in that genre
Dope bro thank you!!!!!!!!
Soooo much to learn! 😀
another amazing video Mark ! would love to see you talk about the making of your latest Nike unlimited campaign , really loved it !
Thanks man! I can definitely chat about that!
Some good advice, thank you mark!!
You’re welcome 🙏🏻🙏🏻
great tips! 👍
I'm glad I found this channel 🙏
Man .. you got a New subscriber 👌 keep creating for us 👊
Was already a supporter fan of the channel, but a Power Stone 2 fan!? You're a respectable man.
I wish it was an online game!
Yes offer your luts!
Dude, never stop teaching your craft, you stand out very much form the other youtubers who talk about film
Thanks man!!!
I just got the Atomos Shinobi this week. The price came down to $299 for the HDMI version
THANKS MARK!
I just got the app Field Monitor last night - turns my iPad into a monitor & it has false colors. Doesn’t work with all cameras but works with my lumix. Very budget friendly! Thanks for your videos, Mark, they are excellent
So cool! I’ll check it out
Thank you Mark you make my life better.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
For a monitor on a budget, I'd really recommend the Feelworld F6 Plus 5.5"! It has a Touch Screen, 3D Lut support, False Colour, 4K HDMI etc. Mine was 250 Euros.
naaice , how bright is the monitor ?
@@neoray10 Hi there, it could be brighter - I think it's 500 nits - but for indoor work it's great and there is a small sunhood comes in the box.
agreed i have it its a great monitor for the money
Yeah was looking at that one...
hi sir. what you see on the camera, is what you see on the monitor? 500 nits in bright sunlight, can you see anything? does the hood help? thank you
Feel like I learned a lot here. Thanks.
Thank you so much your so awesome
My future after watching this = 100%IRE
haha, it took a second, but this is funny
You deserve a medal sir🏅
So good!!! New Sub!
Thanks, very nice.
More of this series please.
You need way way more subs. this is great!
Share the channel! Let’s make it grow!!
I have only watched like 4 vids and I have already subbed great content.
After watching this video, I got more excited to get my monitor from Desview. It has false colors as well and can load luts. 😁
I also have a light similar to yours. Cool!
Oh Mark, you are the brightest thing.
Waaw thank you sir.
I have been following you since I saw you do a vid with Matti and been loving it ever since. Thx for all the knowledge you give us, now i have to go out and shoot lol
P.S. Dreamcast for the win soo many good memories.
Dreamcast for the life
I would absolutely love if you could make a video showing what lighting situations call for a mattebox and topflag. Most youtubers only talk about the filters, but I'm more curious to know how the basecamp is affected by not having side flags. Thanks for the great info MB!
Great idea!
Awesome tips and work, Mark. Photographer here coming into the video world and have learned a ton from you, so thanks! On the LUTs, have you heard of the Leeming Luts? They are technical, not creative, and were created for specific profiles (i.e., Sony sLog, HLG, and CINE, as well as some Panasonic and others) back to an accurate picture of what the eye was seeing when recording. Anyway, Gerald Undone did a whole video about this and I found it super helpful for color accuracy when recording. (Different then your LUTs on set to see if you are getting what you desire for the final edited image, but maybe helpful nonetheless)✌
I remember this video. I took it literally and shot like this outside… and my sky was blown out! So for complete beginners maybe it needs to be coupled with “protect the highlights”, and who knows how much more!
Would love to try your Luts. thanks
Amazing as always! I didn't know what this false colors was in my ninja v :)
Yes please release the luts
thanks for sharing,
👌🏻
Love the videos Mark. Great stuff you don't always here from other RUclipsrs.
Been looking at affordable monitors for a week or so now, I can recommend checking out the Feelworld F6 if anyones ells is on a small budget
The Steve Jobsification is nearly complete.
Linus Nygren help me understand this 😂🤷🏻♂️
Mark Bone haha maybe he thinks you look Similar to him ?
@@markbone I've watched your stuff since the beginning and imo you are incrementally looking more and more like Steve Jobs as time goes on. Is it a low-key goal of yours? Come clean!
Linus Nygren haha. It never was but maybe it should be
Great video Mark. I love this info. I'm finally getting my camera and I wanted to pick your brain. If you had the option to get either 2 cameras or 1 camera and lights, which would you go with? And how many cameras at a time do you find yourself shooting on on set? Is having only 1 camera on set a handicap or is it preferred?
Love your videos as always. ❤️
Probably you can try making this series as a Playlist in RUclips so that it would be easier for us to access.. Just a suggestion 😊
Love from 🇮🇳
Great idea!!
I need to take notes 📝
another great video. learned a ton. biggest takeaway: MARK BONE IS THE BRIGHTEST THING IN THE SHOT OR ITS NOT GOOD (lol)
I'm just here trying to figure out how to decide already on set what type of grade you want and having luts ready for it lol. I rarely buy luts but if you post the ones you're typically sporting in your monitors I'm definitely going to buy them and try this kind of workflow.
A lut from you would be nice....ijs lol thanks for the great content
PowerStone. I still reminisce about that game. My guy was Wang Tang
Me too!!
Ahhh thats how they work! 👍🤗😆
Marry Christmas and Happy New year to you too did you get any new camera Gear I got a Zhiyun Crane Gimbal for 150 bucks used a few times from Facebook Market Place I love it.
